IMO, we need to see Donnie back with Bobby! That epi left us wondering! Maybe if Bobby had someone in his life to care for, he would learn to love. Let's ask you guys. smile.gif

I'd like to see this resolved too.....if I remember correctly, Donny had faked appendicitis and escaped from prison. Wouldn't surprise me if Frank would know exactly where Donny's at. Let's get this and the paternity issue wrapped up so Our Bobby can get on with his life and do what he does best!

Hmmm, what if Bobby is told that his DNA matches an "unknown sample" from a crime scene, related by a male family member. Then if it's Donnie, he knows that Goren Sr. was his daddy, 'cause Donnie's daddy is Frank. If it's not then it's MFB and dundundun sad.

That would be an awesome way to wrap the season

I dunno about learning to love (are we assuming he can't now?) but I do think having family he can care for would be very good for Bobby. Among other things, family keeps you grounded and he sure could use some of that. I hope Donny pops back into the picture soon!

The casting call for "Frame" (season finale) looks like it includes Donny's Mom. Donny must be in the episode, along with Frank, IMO. They must contribute to the "nosedive" that Goren is supposed to narrowly escape from.

Sorry folks - I have to disagree with this premise. Bobby has been taking care of his mother and brother for most of his life. I think he needs a break. He needs to focus on his life, and not just his work life.
Again - sorry - jmho.

I tend to agree to a certain extent. He has been depended on by his family through the whole show...maybe it IS time for him to have family in his life again, but maybe not if they are just wanting something from him.

My guess is that you mean a family of his own (eg. s.o. or wife/children)?

Doesn't it always seem that there's one person in each family who seems to fall into the "caretaker" role? Seems like until Frances died that was Bobby's role (at least when it came to her). He seemed to step away from doing the same for Frank (if I remember correctly, something along those lines was mentioned in ITWSH).
Hoping that at least the paternity issue is finally put to rest in "Frame".

Nope! No rest for the wicked OR the leads in hour long scripted dramas. Hold on to your knickers Bobby, cuz this is only the eye of the hurricaine!

My parents have been alcoholics, among other things, all my life...divorced when I was in 4th grade...I got to play mommy after that. My sisters still call me for advice, before any other family member. My gram wanted me to be a nurse, she was a nurse...but my not liking doctors or hospitals (cannot even stand the smell of them, hospitals not doctors, lol) would not make for a good nurse.

BOT:
Donnie can come back...IF he promises to be a good boy! wink.gif

My mother nearly died when I was 16, and I ended up (as the oldest) shouldering a lot of responsibility around the house, plus going to school, AND having a broken leg on the mend while this was all going on. Anyway...back to topic!

Hope Donny has been scared straight by all this that happened in Untethered....can't wait to see Frame.

IMO, Bobby needs to find Donnie and take him under his wing. Frank might love Donnie, but he's too unstable to care for his son. I think that's why Frank needs Bobby to help Donnie so he won't turn out like his dad. As for Bobby's mom, it's sad she never knew she had a grandson, as Bobby has said to Frank, how much it would have meant to her. Hey Goddess, tell me about Frame?

How about this for a twist... They prove Donny was "FRAMEd" for his original arrest and get the judge to go with time served for the escape. He's released into the custody of his uncle Bobby and moves in with him. That would fit the being pulled out of a nosedive hint from the TV Guide article. Nothing makes you pull it together like responsibility. He's a good kid but not without some problems and mental health issues. It'd be cool to watch Bobby try and stretch into a fatherly type role.

This way we could see bits of that all through next season. Donny trying, Donny screwing up, Bobby dealing with all of that. Then at some point Frank could show up and it'd be like a struggle between them for Donny's soul.

What do you think?

Eh, I think that just Bobby back into a role he's played all his life. He's always been the one patching it up for the rest of his family and he takes it to an unhealthy level seeing as he puts their needs first above himself. Now, Donnie's presumambly not like the rest of his family, but still a teenager, especially one with bi-polar issues who doesn't want to take his meds is more than a handful.

I think Bobby needs to heal himself before he goes back to healing others.

I’m still not totally convinced that Donny was anything more than a friend to Frank (I guess if they bring him back we’ll find out for sure). I would like some closure on Tate’s though. What happened with the Fed’s investigation of the place? They could even just mention the results in passing, like when they mentioned Nicole was found not guilty.

I definitely see what you're saying. I just have the feeling he won't do it without some external motivation pushing him to make that effort. He'll just throw himself into his work and stuff his own hurts on the back shelf. I'm thinking being a father figure to Donny would mean he'd feel an obligation to be a good example to him and that would include exhibiting healthy behavior. In attempting to hlep Donny he'd help himself as a byproduct. I just don't see him having enough self worth at this point to put in the effort just for his own benefit.

Another thing that makes me think Donny could be good for him is that, unlike Francis, he's not a lost cause. For all his caretaking, Bobby could never make his mother better. But with Donny he's got a chance to make a real difference. Instead of being a hopeless bottomless pit of need, Donny could turn his life around.

Of course there is no way it'll happen without a struggle. This is a television drama after all. biggrin.gif

Anyway, it's just a thought. So far Rene Balcer has yet to call me for advice as to where the show should be heading.... LOL

Nicole is an asset to LOCI! She is so intimidating to Bobby, it makes him crazy! She needs to return! I don't think Bobby will rest until he gets Nicole for good!
