That was a fun link! I looked at all the pictures. Wondered why Columbo didn't make the list, tho. Was neat to see Leslie Nielsen as funniest cop, really liked his Naked Gun movies.

Wish VDO's pic had been the one in front, not Caine's, jmo. Nice write up on both of them, very accurate, very true. They should have had a "hottest cop" category! Now THAT would have opened up a can of worms! Maybe they were smart NOT to do that.......

Tlhe choices are Jethro-what's his name from NCIS, Gil Grissom from CSI, and our own personal favorite, Detective Robert Goren from CI. At the moment, Goren is leading the competition by a big margin. Guess who I voted for? Bobby, of course!

Yes, everyone should go vote for VDO and KE !!! Especially if it leads to the Peoples' Choice Awards, because those ARE awarded in response to people like us, not bought and sold like the Emmys. Why on earth would either of them want an award that's for sale? Not their style. They're all about doing the best job they can, for their own satisfaction and for their fans.

Wow! Not too flattering.

I really wish that the Police Squad TV show episodes (there were only 6 of them) were available on DVD...that show was so incredibly funny...it was hysterical watching them come up with very creative ways to kill their special guest star in the opening credits of each episode (and the guest stars getting killed were people like Florence Henderson and William Shatner). So it was no surprise to me that the Naked Gun movies (which were based on Police Squad) were so successful

I had not a doubt in my mind VDO would be voted at the top! His acting ability is amazing and so real, it's hard to believe. I do wish they would honor the late and great Roy Scheider for his wonderful performance in the Endgame. Let's not forget Rita Moreno as well!!!

Considering how many TV detectives there have been over the years it's pretty cool to see Goren on a list.

I so agree with you. Roy Scheider was wonderful in that role. Actually everyone in that episode gave stellar performances.

I am sooo happy to see VDO and KE get some of what, I think, is long overdue recognition.
