Prime Time Emmy nominations were announced today, and sadly, Sharon Gless did not get an Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actress for Burn Notice, despite making it onto the
semifinalist list. Ah well, next year!
But... Sharon did get an Emmy nomination for her role on Nip/Tuck!

Yes, thanks for sharing, but nothing for anyone else (nothing for JD)? I guess he'll just get our love and affection!
Maybe next year......

I don't really like award shows. Glad BN got an Emmy. I think they need to do more talk shows to build the audience even more and make it mandatory that the idiots that do the nominations pay close attention to this show which is literally captivating viewers. I like Mad Men but I have to be in the mood to watch it. It's a bit sad and dark at times for me. Also, I don't see this show having much longevity. It's a period piece and they don't tend to hold our attention too long. It is beautifully filmed and acted but it really shouldn't be compared with a show like BN. They are too different. One a strict drama while the other is a dramedy. I do predict that Mad Men and Damages will run away with the awards. Also, Dexter may be overlooked; which is a shame. It's the ONLY think worth watching on the premium movie channels.

I'm not surprised that BN was shut out of the Emmy nominations, alas. I mean, I figured that the actors wouldn't get nominated, but I was hoping for at least one Emmy nod for the fantastic writers of this show. I hope that next year BN garners more attention from the voters.

I was rather tickled that Dexter got a best drama nod myself. I will get Showtime while Dexter (and Brotherhood) are on the air with new episodes and then I cancel it until next season.

And while I didn't expect BN to get any noms, I was hoping I would be proven wrong.

I came across the Selections for what had been put in for the 2008 Nighttime Emmys. And this is what I found. I didn't see the listing for Sound/Mix for Burn Notice but these instead....
2008 Emmys Nominations
Drama - Burn Notice
Lead Actor - Jeffrey Donovan - Pilot
Supporting Actor - Bruce Campbell - Loose Ends
Supporting Actress- Gabrielle Anwar - Wanted Man, Sharon Gless - Identity
Guest Actor - Richard Schiff - Dead Drop
Guest Actress - Lucy Lawless - False Flag
So, I thought that Burn Notice wasn't even up for any awards come September when they put in for certain nominations outside of the Sound/Mix.

Too bad some of those selections didn't make it to the final nominations. Bruce Campbell for Loose Ends was a really good submit, as was JD, of course, for the pilot. Hope that BN will gain greater recognition next year.
Congrats to BN, though, for the Sound/Mix nomination, and Sharon Gless for Nip/Tuck!!
