Yay!!
I mean... Rawr!
I have somehow gained 2.2 pounds while simultaneously losing a half inch from my waist. Adding the wrist and ankle weights and the extra fifteen to thirty minutes to my workout in an effort to speed up the weight loss process seems to have backfired in an unexpected way. All it's done is make my muscles sore and tired and make me gain weight. I know I should shrug it off and chalk it up to muscle gain, but it just pisses me off.

Yeah, I've had that happen enough to me to know how it feels. You never know how the body is going to react. What seems like a simple formula (calories exerted must be greater than calories taken in) doesn't always act like it's supposed to, especially as you get older.
It seems like you can't count on 'supposed to be' like you used to.
Stick with it -- it sounds like you're putting on good muscle, at least. If worse comes to worse, you'll always know that you're strong enough to toss the scale farther than you could have before.
