Quick question - does anyone on the Monk board ever get together in a chat room? I was just wondering if anyone was interested in a chat after the season premiere Friday night? I know we do that on the Burn Notice board, I didn't know if that was ever done here.

Someone asked about a chat room before. I suggested using a messenger like Yahoo messenger and everyone get in the same big window so that we're not overrun with porn bots. How did they do it on the Burn Notice board?

A gal on the BN board set up a room at www.meebo.com. Users can sign it with the names they already have with Yahoo, MSN, AIM, etc.

If enough people are interested in doing a chat like this after the premiere Friday, let me know and I will set up a room. If everyone really isn't that interested I won't go ahead and set it up. So let me know what you guys think.

I'd probably get kicked out before I could say a word for one or two of the user names I have on these messengers. They aren't family friendly. You guys have no idea how much I watch my language for this and an a couple of other boards. I've been asked to tone down my language by a retired sailore and certain members of my family have convinced people I have Tourettes.

LOL, well I can join your club then Liv because my mouth isn't exactly family friendly either. I too use great restraint on the board. Over the weekend my own father said to me "do you ever listen to what comes out of your mouth?" So I say join us Friday night in chat, what the heck!

I am new to chat rooms, so if you can explain how to get there, I'll come. I imagine we will be really excited and it will be great to talk!

I think it signs you out after a period of inactivity.

I'll be on as well, I'll probably be online while the episode is airing, LOL I'll be able to give everyone play-by-play's.

I will sign on right before the episode airs and hop on during commerical breaks just to make sure we are up and running.

Monkophile1 - just click on the link in this thread and it will take you to the chat room. It will ask you to sign it and you can use your Yahoo, MSN or AIM account to sign in. Once you sign in it will ask you if you want to change your nickname and you can change it at that time if you want to.

Probably obvious...but don't forget to shoot up the link (and this thread) so we can get to it fast when the show/chat is on....

I think we all should consider bookmarking this site -- and designating it an emergency meeting spot in case something ever happens to the board. The Monk board was down for a while this morning. If that were to happen at an inopportune time, it would be good to have an alternate place to meet -- um...not being able to be here is kind of an emergency, you know?

You mean bookmark the chat room for emergencies? I agree. Yes the board being down constitutes an emergency.
