How do we think Roger's is handling her job as the ME.? Does she seem more uninterested as an ME., or is that just her personality? IMO, she seems quite bored with her career. What do you think?

I can't vote, KRod, because the only way I could vote is NO WAY can she be replaced! I LOVE Rodgers' sarcastic, slightly bored-sounding responses.

I personally think her part is too small and too much the same year after year, I'd get bored out of my gourd with it. I think she does a darned fine job as an ME and deserves to have more done about her. NOT with Ross, however. I think it'd be just marvy if they gave her a long lost boyfriend and they ran off and got married so Ross would have to find a ME he could fight with and maybe one with hair? Crusty and mouthy, would be good. They've washed Rodgers out, those scrubs were miles too big on her and with no hair color she looks like she's wearing blond cotton candy.

I don't think they do enough with her character. I don't necessarily mean more screen time, but more of her sharp, black sense of humor when we see her. Remember when someone quipped that she must have some bedside manner and she snapped right back with "there's a reason I work with dead people". Classic. Let's have more of that.

Nevah! She has been on all the L&O's and made her first apppearance in 1992! I love everything about her except the dress she was wearing in the elevator in "Untethered" was it?

Hey. Guess I'm the lone wolf here, but I wouldn't mind having her replaced. I like the ME on SVU. If she's that bored with her job, get another one. She and Ross have the same personality....blah.

Actually, I meant to say this earlier in the Ross thread, but this will do. I think it says a lot about how talented Eric Bogosian and Lesli Hendrix are as actors that they can have us all speculating on "are they or aren't they" with nothing more than a few (VERY FEW) looks exchanged. Even in the elevator scene, there was not one word spoken by or to one another about going to the opera. All we needed to know was that Ross was on the way to the opera and then see them both dressed up--and again, that look that she gave him when he got on. They have me hoping they are and others hoping they aren't.

I think they could alternate, maybe hire a hot ME who appreciates the nosey Goren. And doesn't mind him picking at the bodies.

IMO, I don't want to see her replaced.....but I really would like to see her part expanded, and some back story between her and Capt. Ross.
As far as seeming bored with her job--I disagree with that. I believe she's trying to stay detached and not beocme emotionally involved in the horror of what she sees day-to-day in her position as a M.E. And the "gallows humor" she has had in past episodes, to me it's also a coping mechanism. Those of us on the boards who work in the medical profession will attest to that....with what I see on a daily basis on the job, it's one of the ways my coworkers and I can deal with the "dark side" of the job, if you will.



Remember the episode where she talked about how she was planning on being a cardiac surgeon, and couldn't bear to cut into something living, and how freaked out Logan looked? LMAO over that scene! We need more!

Absolutely not - Rogers is now the only constant in the L&O universe. Can't something, anything, anyone remain inviolate? I sure hope so.

The only place that Rogers is too burned out or caught up with Ross is in the world of fan fiction.

It's never been a role with a lot of screen time, but she (Lesli Hendrix) does as much with it as she can - she should be given more to do.

Yeah, I think Dr. Rogers is cool. She should stay. She definitely gets some of the best oneliners. My favorite one is from "Semi-Detached." She says "Well I'm no shrink, but 40 milligrams of Paroxetine a day is enough to make a hound dog smile." I loved how she delivered that line. Maybe they could do an episode for her like they did for Dr. Warner on SVU and get her out of the office (so to speak). I agree with folks about having a back story/romance going on for Ross and Rogers. You'll only see that in fan fiction.

I caught her on a mothership episode earlier today. She and Lennie were discussing a victim and she told him she had to hurry. She had to pull a javelin out of a chest. Lennie asked her why she chose that line of work. "For the free javelins." she replied. It was funnier to see than to read typed here. I love her. (And Lennie )

I totally agree that she's a great actress for no more than they give her to do, she puts depth and feeling into the character. She should stay as long as she keeps her paws off my Captain Ross.

I remember in some CI's Goren caught mistakes as an ME should have not missed. Maybe they should give me the part since I almost became a pathologist. I sure would have made a whole lot of money instead of nursing!!!! This is a joke guys! Autopsy rules and very cool! They are the ones who tell the MD's the diagnosis!!!

KR--I love 'ya hunny--but I think the formaldehyde is fryin' yer brain! I love, love, love Dr. Rogers. I agree with the majority here, her zingers are a highlight of the show (like BG's used to be...*whine*) and I would be thrilled with more screen time from her. I haven't noticed that she's bored, but I'm probably distracted by the furtive glances and body language between Dr. R and the Little Captain. The only thing I would do is change, or rather add, some hair colour. The blondage makes her look OLD *not in a good way* and tired. It doesn't fit her personality. IMOLM(inmyownlittlemind)

She smiled at Ross when he got on the elevator in Untethered. Then looked all embarrassed when she saw Eames. Loved it! And I think she might have smiled when she told Logan that she had gone to an opera with Lennie once. But, yeah, she doesn't smile much.

Rogers rocks and no one could replace her dry, witty, gallows humor. I have watched her since the early days of Mothership and I think she has become a fixture of L&O. So in my opinion, no she shouldn't be replaced. If anyone should be replaced in that "relationship" it's Ross but that's a whole other topic...

But Rodgers would be so sad if he left. And so would I.

I just saw a SVU where Munch was hitting on her. He asked if she'd ever have dinner with him. She said, "Not while I can still feed myself."

I absolutely adore Rodgers and her sacrastic wit and her interactions with the other characters. I agree that it's really cool that she's been on all the L&Os and kind of ties things together. However, I do agree with KRodgers on one point. I really dislike the blond hair. Her hair was beautiful when it was a dark reddish brown. I keep crossing my fingers that she'll go back to that color.

Its a fine question. i really like Rogers though...she has been on all 3 L&O and I would be happy to see her continue on LOCI. You mentioned she missed some things during autopsies. I am not so sure she missed those things, just that Goren, the ever inquisitive-intelligent-detective that he is...cuahgt them first. i am sure she would have found them. But the fact that Goren did, adds to the way G/E solve the crimes. Rogers reminds me of Quincy...quiet, self-contained...totally into his job, but occassionallly tossing out a smart-a$$ remark that caught you off guard and made you laugh or made you think.

Editing to add...I am getting used to her blonde hair, but I did think the red-auburn she had was more flattering to her facial features. she actually looks a lot like my aunt!

I did do some training in pathology and it's a hard and painful job. Rogers has such a dry personality, almost boring IMO. The pathologists I worked with were quite comical. To each his own, I guess. Seriously, the blonde hair makes her look older, IMO.
