I'd looove to see Fi kick Carla's tush! I think that would be a knock down dirty fight!

I'm not thrilled about the entrance of Carla. I think they had a great formula in the first season & now it's changed. But it has always been Mike's objective to track down that burn notice. As far as Carla is concerned, I think she is just as big a patsy in all this as any of the others. Either the boss is holding something dear to her over head or has found some reason to be able to manipulate her.

As far as the actress is concerned, I've never seen her before. She's ok. She does have a great telephone voice. Very inflective. Gets alot across with it. Oh and she has a great smile & beautiful eyes.

Oh & just as an aside, Lucy Lawless is a natural blond.

Welcome NDGD. Thanks for the positive comments. We can go down the negative thread a bit but we are ALL still big fans of the show. I think we want it to continue being as entertaining as last season. This can sometimes come off a bit hypercritical or extremely defensive. I think I fall into the defensive camp most of the time. Hope to read more of your posts and don't be shy. All opinions are welcome; at least that's been my experience on the board.

so is this discussion about if mike chose to help carla or listen to fiona and do what he is doing and not to try to find the people/person that burned him????

Not liking the Carla character but I do think that Trisha is pretty. Because she is calling the shots right now or so that is all we see, it will be interesting and is making the show even more suspenseful in trying to figure out where and who this is leading up to. I"m looking forward to whoever else is on the show and how they all tie or not tie in to Michael being burned. All the way around it's a great show no matter what.

I am having a good time loving to hate Carla. She drives me crazy, but she should. If I "liked" her then the actress wouldn't be doing a good job. I just can't wait until Michael (along with Fi/Sam) blow her out of the water, either figuratively speaking or literally.

i thought it was just me. I'm having a challenge with Ms. Helfer's performance too. It's not really that bad, but it's just not quite 'there'. Maybe it's b/c JD is so good and she's barely 'holding her own' in the scenes w/him. His talent just drips from every pore...she just drips. I still have a problem w/her cadence and clipped diction. Granted she has the smoky voice, but she 'bites' her consonants and swallows her syllables, and that takes away from the sinister sexuality this character requires. IMHO.
Admittedly she's a very beautiful woman and she looks great on screen, but she's just not 'bringing it' at the level needed to make us believe her.. I'm just thankful I recorded last season's finale. I still like the other actress' V/O much better. That's probably why they had to do the 'previously on BN, to dub in TH's voice.
Regarding Fi v. Carla, if the Carla character is well-trained it would be a good fight, 'wilma flintsotne v. judy jetson' with Fiona ultimately kicking her ass. If Ms Helfer's performance continues at this same level of acting ability then Fiona should be able to just hit her with the butt of a gun and be done w/her pretty quickly (and sparing the viewers from a beautifully choreographed, poorly executed girl fight). ...or maybe just stuff one of those styrofoam grenades in her mouth. Still I love the show and I like the way things are revealing themselves slowly. Makes it much more interesting and so much fun to watch.

Right... I think we're in an "evolutionary" process for the gang right now. They're going to have to learn to work smarter to outdo Carla and her people.

It's definitely offensive to me.
