I'm not sure if I've posted in here before, but I am a fan of CI, it's a great show!! I especially love Logan/Wheeler. I really hope they don't kill Logan off. That may be wishful thinking though, hearing what you guys are saying--and what you say does make sense. It would be nice if Logan did find love, as this is one thing we haven't seen him do, but it would be hard to set that up and resolve it in just one episode. I do think his exit will be memorable though, whether bad or good!

Hey, I saw you over in the Psych board today! Welcome! Yes, we are very sad about Logan leaving. And one thing we have no shortage of around here are speculations on what will happen.

Thank you!! I saw you over there too :-). I can't wait to see what happens on Sunday, and yep, you're right, we can speculate, lol.

So Chris Noth isn't interested in tv work anymore. Well I can name several actors that thought the same thing and they went in the wind. The first I have to mention is David Caruso. He thought he was hot stuff and he didn't do any work for YEARS. Then he got his CSI:Miami break. I think he learned his lesson. lol Also Maclean Stephenson did the same thing in leaving MASH. Had one show that lasted 5 minutes.. I wish him nothing but good luck. I've liked him since his first episode on L&O.

I have apologized for my remarks earlier about Chris but I would like to do so again. I was very very angry when I wrote that and also hurt that Chris was leaving the show. I've really liked him since his first show on L&O. I wish him and his loved ones the very best. I know it is going to be a big show when he leaves. I just hope they don't have to kill him off.

Don't worry about it Usaluver. You weren't the only one to draw that comparison. I think any time an actor leaves a successful TV show, a lot of people will think, "Here goes another David Caruso." At least Chris waited until he actually had a hit movie under his belt and another movie in the works before he left. My impression of David Caruso (which could be totally wrong) was that he basically said, "I'm too big a star for the small screen. So long TV. Here I am, Hollywood--make me a star!"

And, as has been mentioned before, having his girlfriend and baby in CA had to have played a big part in his decision (just as it did with Jamey Sheridan a few years ago). Becoming a father for the first time at age 53 has to cause a man to really reexamine his priorities!

Over on The Reel site they have an interview with Dick Wolf written by Bill Keveney for USA Today, makes for interesting reading. For anyone fearing the death of Logan, relax Wolf say's he doesn't leave in a body bag, but he leaves in what Wolf describes as a '' soul-searching episode''. Wolf also thinks he say's'' I can always see him coming back. How shall I put it ? He's not the prodical son, he's the wandering son''.So rest easy Logan fans he leaves on good terms but he leaves alive.

Hey, thanks for that reassuring info! I'm so glad that they didn't take the death route for Logan. I know it would have even made me sad watching him in L&O repeats if I knew he would get killed off down the line. Sounds like it's going to be an awesome episode, though I know I'll be watching it through tears sad.gif

Look, I've said this over at the "Last Rights" thread but I'll say it again--I loved Logan before I even heard of Robert Goren. Yes, Bobby stole my love right out from under him, but I never stopped caring, thought his relationship with Wheeler was sweet, respected his work even though he disagreed with Bobby's methods. I liked this character. But, I think he should have died.

The man deserves a hero's funeral. This is Mike Logan, the epitome of a hero. Also, people have grown up with this man, I know I have, and part of loving a character sometimes is mourning his loss through death. Believe me I know this the hard way. How would watching reruns be harder, knowing his fate was ultimately a hero's fate? I just don't get it. And yeah, unless they hook Bobby up with his soul-mate and he has a family and retires, I want a hero's end for him too.

The article also stated that "The character is combative in his CI swan song, too, going up against an overzealous prosecutor who had put the wrong man behind bars"

I can watch the episode with less dread now. I wonder if the prosecutor is the lady that prosecuted the "rapist" that was murdered in the previous Logan episode. The camera lingered at Logan looking at her with disgust.

Yes, it's pretty clear, the victim is ...Wheeler's fiancé. biggrin.gif
What ? Why not him ? If he is the victim in the last episode, then it could explain why it's just Wheeler and Ross who are informed about his prognosis, she calls him because she wants his permission to investigate his aggression (and after Goren and his potential father, Eames and her husband , himself and Kathy...he can hardly refuse...)and then, the "victim" doesn't appear in the casting notice since he was already cast for the previous episode. So Ross accepts and let her investigate with Logan about this case and their investigation leads them on an old case.
Why think the worst for Logan, just because Noth is leaving and the title is Last Rites ??? huh.gif ok,ok, forget what I said you all are probably right to think they are going to kill him. sad.gif
But I'm still curious and suspicious about Wheeler's new boyfriend. He's introducted in Contract, he 'll appear in person in Neighborhood Watch... isn't that too much ? Nobody else think it isn't innocent and something is planned around his character ?

I think Wheeler's fiance will have a hand in Logans death.
Also, who do think will replace Logan or will it only be Goren and Eames now?

Jeff Goldblum will replace Chris Noth for the next season and according with an article on USA Today, Logan doesn't die smile.gif
Chris Noth bids a second...
In Sunday's "Last Rites," Logan doesn't leave in a body bag, as some exiting characters have, but in what Wolf describes as "a soul-searching episode."

cat lady, I can't thank you enough for your message about Logan not being killed. Now I can rest easy for two days before the show comes on. Perhaps they knew that would be a real bumber for ci fans everywhere. Thank you again for your info. I, and others I'm sure, are less nervous. :)

You don't have to die to be a hero. Personally, I'm glad that he isn't being killed off. Just on the off chance they do something big (no idea really what something big would be lol) when the original ends the door is open for Logan to make an appearance. Also because he always seems lonely and a little sad I can imagine that he is out there somewhere happier and no longer alone.

I agree. It would be kinda depressing to think that all heroes MUST die. Logan is a hero, and if he has to leave then I'm glad that at least he'll still be alive. I also believe that he can find happiness out there.

Interesting conversation so I think I'll throw in my two cents. I like the character of Logan and many of his qualities. However, I don't think of him as a hero. I think Logan represents a man who is honorable and strong in his convictions but also someone who is human and makes mistakes. I think I'll stop now because saying anymore would be putting way too much effort into analyzing a character.

It is an interesting conversation, and I do agree with you that Logan is human and makes mistakes. I still think he's a hero because of the job he does and the times he's put his life on the line for what's right. Hey, character analysis is fun, share your thoughts!

I think that a hero doesn't need to do anything spectacular or grab headlines to be a hero. My favorite definition of courage is doing what you know needs to be done despite the fact that you're frightened out of your mind. I believe a hero is someone who keeps doing what they know is right or necessary despite frustration and the seeming futility of it all, and despite opposition or obstruction from others.

What a Great Episode tonight! God, you will be missed Mike. I'm glad the window was left open (even if only a crack) for you to return someday. Peace be with you always, Mike Logan...jr6020

Logan proved tonight that he is indeed a hero. And while I usually like closure, the more I think about it the more I love the ending. Just like in real life, we didn't get things tied up with a nice pretty little bow. Will he quit? Will he be fired? Will he be sent back to Staten Island? Who knows? The bad guys didn't get theirs in the end, just as happens so often in real life. Wheeler is left to deal with the fallout of being involved--"the law of unintended consequences." But Mike Logan did the right thing and didn't stop until the job was done. He's my hero.

I'm so glad Mike didn't die!!!

I dunno.....

I liked it...and will miss Logan...but....now what? He did a great job on this episode, but I miss having a definate ending. Maybe its just me......
xhead00
I didn't like the ending but at least he could come back if he just leaves to start a new life
