Full Version: Serena Southerlyn, the new ADA for season 8?
USA Network Forums > USA Network Originals > Law & Order: Criminal Intent
Firefall
I know we all miss Carver, the original Major Case's ADA from season 1 to 5, and then sadly he left leaving his replacement, Patricia Kent to take over, but she only appear in two episodes in season 6...then the rest of season 6 and 7 was left without a ADA.

Until now, I traced a link to the Wikipedia article of Law & Order: CI and I notice in the chart (where they show the series diagram of the character's appearances throughout the show) I noticed they have a spot for ADA for season 8... and the person is non other than... Serena Southerlyn.

If this is a hoax or if this is a rumor that suppose to be real, I'm confused so I want your take on this. Here's a link to the site click here: Law & Order: CI wikipedia article

Hi Bubba here, I think everyone's take on Wikipedia is to take it with a grain of salt, until there's proof it. I wouldn't mind seeing her on the show to fill that slot.

I'd like seeing her in a guest appearance, but I wouldn't be thrilled with her as a regular lead. I thought she was one of the weaker ADA's from the Mothership. Now Angie Harmon... Abbie "Hang-Em-High" Carmichael? She'd kick butt. I'd like to see another female lead on the show, but she's gotta be strong enough to stand up to Goren and Ross, lock horns with 'em and make it interesting. I just never saw that in Serena.

Besides, Serena was fired from the DA's office. I see her next step in life to go on to being more of a crusader or advocate for causes she believes in, as Fred T. suggested when he fired her. Now I could see that being worked successfully into a guest role.

My Wikipedia-fu (under her character name) and IMDB-fu have no mention of Elisabeth Rohm returning the L&O universe. That is interesting, though. Perhaps you can go and correct it?

and pfchristine, I totally agree about Abbie. She was awesome. I'd love to have her back but I can't imagine she and Goren (or Eames for that matter) getting along very well at all.

Nope, me neither. But there sure would be some entertaining fireworks to watch!

Was Woman's Murder club canceled? The series Angie Harmon was currently staring in?

Of Course I would love to hear Bobby say Abby weekly. wink.gif

Yes, it was, which is sad b/c it was a good show but they scheduled it on Friday nights (a sure sign your network doesn't support you) and so no one watched it.

And I'm one of the ones who didn't watch it, although I wish I had. I kept trying to remember to record it and it just never happened.

I thought the actress who plays Serena was already working on another series. I also thought she was based in California. She just had a baby last April. I would not mind seeing her. I recorded this week the episode in which she gets fired. I thought it was a bit unjustified, but she seemed to disagree with Fred Thompson all the time. I did not think she was out of line at all.

Wikipedia is far too open to additions and changes by anybody. You could go there right now and award Bugs Bunny a Pulitizer Prize.

If Elisabeth Rohm were joining the LOCI cast don't you think USA network would have issued a press release?

BTW, I think it's a great idea and I hope it's true, but until it's official....
pfchristine
Actually, I'd bet money it isn't true... but it's fun to speculate.

That's ironic!!

Wikipedia is not a reliable source. Once, they also stated that Chris Noth and Eric Bogosian would appear as Det. Logan and Capt. Ross on Special Victims Unit show before the season ends, but it never happened. Let us not jump into excitement about this ada.The news could be a fluke, you know.

hmmmm.........."verry interesting", as they'd say on Laugh-In.

I'd like to see another ADA on CI, really miss Ron Carver, but IMO should be someone with a strong character and not blend into the background. So, if Bugs Bunny gets a Pulitzer, does Elmer Fudd get the Nobel Peace Prize? laugh.gif

When USA issues the press release, I'll believe it. Otherwise, I'm not holding my breath on it.

::sobs uncontrollably:: It would seem I am always the last to know about these things but after checking the network website, it looks be canceled. Drat. My daughter and I loved this show. I recorded it every week. Now I'll have to look for it on DVD.

Angie Harmon aka Abbie Carmichael would be a great ADA to bring back and put on LOCI, better than Sutherland imo. Carmichael was my favorite and she even did a few episodes on SVU in their first season.

AND, she's totally "doable" as Abbie left to go work "just down the street" with another group, FBI lawyer, I think.

As for Angie -- she's having too much fun being Jason Seahorn's wife and a mom....don't know if she would want to come back after being cancelled....

I think it would be tons of fun to see Serena going toe-to-toe with Ross and fighting with Goren over cases and perps.....
