Hi Bubba here, finally one more week to the premiere. I thought I would create the episode thread for you guys. Here's a small write up from TV Guide, but you already probably read it.
In the seventh-season opener, Monk buys a home to escape a noisy neighbor and runs into a murder case and an unscrupulous contractor (Brad Garrett). Hector Elizondo joins the cast as Monk's new therapist.
The promo looked great last night during Burn Notice.

I feel like I've been waiting for at least three years.

I am deliberately not reading any of this thread because I want the season premiere to be a complete surprise. However, it's been soooooo long since last season (3 months... ha ha) that I was thinking (hoping?) that tonight was the season premire. Fortunately my Tivo is smart enough to tell me that it's not; simply by not recording shows I've already seen. SOOO... I cannot wait until next week, although my curiosity is about to get the better of me. I'm wondering why on Earth Adrian is buying a house when he already has a wonderful one! I'm really looking foreword to the touching scenes regarding Dr. Kroger and Dr. Nevel. (I know that's the wrong name... I'm refering to Hector's character )

Unless he puts one just like it on the other side of the house. Maybe that's a bedroom -- could be cozy. <Just teasing -- no spoiler's here folks>
Except that from the promo it almost looks like
Spoiler:
Natalie is drinking champagne in Monk's house. Last time she did anything like that, it was the egg nog and she ended up rubbing his feet. LOL!
But I just caught a glimpse and I couldn't be sure. Did anyone else see that?

There has to be a chimney on the other side...there just has to be. And he needs to change that light bulb that has gone out!

I'm thinking its sparkling cider because there are two glasses and Natalie knows Monk doesn't like to 'drink.'

I have shipper x-ray vision -- I see EVERYTHING Monk/Natalie related, whether it's there or not.
The end of 'Man Who Shot Santa' was what I was referring to -- Monk is sitting in the chair, Natalie on the ottoman, I think. Not a long foot rub -- more of just a few pats to the foot or leg -- it's hard to tell.

Your shipper X-Ray must be failing if a foot rub turned into a few pats on the leg or foot. You must need to re-watch the video.
My shipper glasses work perfectly well in that none of that registered to me at all...at least not as a 'foot rub'.

Thanks for the advice. I will go rewatch it. I've watched it quite a bit already, though -- zoomed in, slowed down, over and over again - sometimes on those you-tube videos with the love songs in the background.
That might explain why I see it so clearly when you do not, huh?
If we're going to be friends, we just have to make sure we don't get your anti-shipper glasses mixed up with my x-ray shipper glasses -- we could both end up sick and unhappy.

Watched some of the episodes during the marathon (or what I like to call, the Monkathon). Finally saw "Mr. Monk and the Buried Treasure." Lucky for those two that Randy had to pee! We've only seen bits of the episode in the promo, but surely there will be some mention of what happened to Dr. Kroger. From the date of this post, 6 more days! I don't think I've ever looked forward so much to a show's new season.

This morning, I was talking with my friend who was telling me that she loves Monk, and that mention of Monk suddenly reminded me that Monk-Season 7 will be coming up this Friday, July 18. I told her that the new episodes will begin this Friday.
I got home and quickly turned on my DVR to copy that show just in case something comes up this Friday night.
Did see that promo and can't wait to see this Friday's new episode.

WARNING! SPOILER! You read it on your own resposibility!
Spoiler:
If you watched „Monk” last season, then you know what a clever show it is. If you didn’t watch, you really missed out on a great show. The seventh season premieres on USA Network on July 18, 2008 Monk picks up where it left off, with unable to consider a New therapist to replace Dr. Kroger and bored with his job. He can’t get any sleep because his neighbor plays the piano at all hours (although only Monk can hear it). He decides to investigate an “obvious” accidental death and find his perfect house – one that is absolutely clean and soundproof. What more could American’s favorite OCD detective want? He decides to buy it on an impulse. His new therapist determines he is upset about the piano playing because it is the same music Dr. Kroger played in his waiting room. He decides he doesn’t like that therapist either and spends the session sitting. While at a hardware store to buy items for the new house he meets a handyman who gives him a business card in case he needed any work done. Once in the new house Monk starts finding little things he needs to be fixed and he calls the handyman. Unfortunately the little things turn into big things as the handyman keeps finding things wrong that need major overhauls. Monk, who values clean and quiet above all else, has to endure noise and dirt. When the handyman turns out to be more than what he seems and a dead body turns up, it’s time for Monk to get back to work. He has to figure who the handyman is and what the house has to do with everything. Just another day at work for him. Source
I am afraid to read anything further about the premiere. I already know too much. (I sound like I am in the mob or something - I know TOO much).

I understand perfectly now. The lightbulbs went off in my head -- I finally get it.
Natalie taking off Monk's shoes and patting or rubbing his feet was akin to caring for the elderly and infirmed.
Okay -- I'm an anti-shipper now. I see it your way. And to show you that I understand, in my next fanfic Natalie is going to give Monk a bath.

I think we should take a moment to acknowledge the surreality of that spelling correction, not only for the content, but also for the fact that one of the worst spellers in the entire free world decided to correct it.
Okay, now we can move on, no pun intended. Seriously.

No matter what, the non-variable with Monk has always been Trudy. I just can't buy into even the premise of Monk leaving the house where he lived with her.
Plus - I thought Monk was only renting the house where he was living. Do I remember incorrectly?

I will miss Stanley so much, but I think Doctor Bell will be great!
Natalie and Monk dragging the bathtub behind them was pretty funny, I think.
It was a bit predictable, though, like I knew Monk wasn't going to be able to stand living in the house, so I just knew he'd move back to his apartment.
I love the tag scene though, how it had Stanley's picture. And I think it's great that they dedicated the episode "in loving memory" of him.

I liked the tribute to Dr. K -- it was a wise decision and well done.
The episode won't rank among my favorites, I don't think. I really didn't find the comedy scenes very funny, and there really wasn't much mystery. I mean, I don't hate it, but...
Maybe I'll like it more when I watch it again.
