I thought that what we needed was a place to write out the facts of LOCI as a reference guide for fanfic writers. In this way everyone knows where things are on a consistant basis.
This thread is for discussion of these items in order to determine by consensus what the facts are to the best of our knowledge. I also propose (though this could be headed for trouble), that we come up with a BASIC character outline for each main character that we can all agree on. This includes height, weight (approximate), hair color, eye color, general attitude, general motivations, and basic skillset.
The physical description part might seem silly, but I've read fics where people have Eames' eyes wrong, and her hair color wrong too. I'm sure there are some with other appearance errors out there too.
If we generate a big collection of info I'll put it all into a big file and make it available for download for ease of use.
I'm going to leave this post all by itself and start the discussion with a seperate one, since everything else will be subject to revision.

I think this is a GREAT idea! Even though I have an AU in my stories, I try to fit it as closely as possible to the canon of the show. I will use this a LOT.
As for eye color--I know Bobby's, but I'm not so sure about Eames. I think we should ask Oldgoalie, since he spends so much time gazing into her eyes.

Since I recently made this goof, it should be here that 1PP is home to the Major Case Squad on the 11th floor, and the ME office. Anyone know what floor that is? Also, what else is in that building? Chief of D's? Chief of Police?
Bobby was CID in the military, according to Wikipedia.
Bobby is 6'4" tall, wears size 13 shoes, is left-handed.

--His middle name starts with an "O" (I mistakenly gave him the middle name of James in something I wrote)
--His brother's name is Frank, who's a gambling addict; his mother's name is Frances, who is/was schizophrenic; his dad was a gambler and is dead (not too sure how long)
Info about Alex:
--Worked in Vice before going to Major Case
--She enrolled in the Academy in 1993; married Joe Dutton in 1995; became a widow in 1998 when he was killed while working undercover
--Her dad's name is Johnny (or possibly John; Frank Adair referred to him as Johnny)
--Was a surrogate for her sister
--She's the senior partner
Info about Mike:
--Was banished to Staten Island Harbor Patrol for 10 years after hitting a councilman
--Wears plaid ties
--His mom was abusive (maybe an alcoholic, too)
--His dad flew planes in Korea
--Lenny Briscoe was his partner before he went to Staten Island
--Wears what looks like a class ring on his left hand
That's all I know

Bobby can also speak some Chinese, but not very well. The lady said he spoke it like her dog. I think he also knows some French.

Mother Frances has now passed away. No other family that we know of.

Okay, we can safely state Goren knew his grandparents (Endgame). Frank told Bobby that Frances stayed with grandma after she went upstate with "Uncle Mark." At the time he was four. Mom had the episode when he was seven, so we can deduce that for three years, there were grandparents around. I think young Bobby spent many a summer days at grandpa's club at the beach while mommy was away and to this day, he equates being away from mom with the beach, hence his dislike for the beach (Depth). We know it was a beach because of the picture of a young Frances wearing her bathing suit while posing on the sand with a pier in the background.

Not much on Mikey.
I have character workups on the main characters and I fill the missing pieces in when I watch the show. (Sad, I know) I've put the episode references for the ones I remember. Here's stuff that LoganLuvr didn't list in the Logan Facts thread:
Address as of Renewal: 724 E 7th on the 5th Floor
Eyecolor: Hazel
Height (from Chris Noth's imdb profile): 6' 1 1/2"
Religion: Raised Irish Catholic but is agnostic
Badge Number: 3728
Love interests seen on CI: Gina Low, prison nurse at Brooklyn Federal Prison, Mike had been dating her for five months prior to "Stress Position"
Holly Lauren (aka Kathleen Shaw), Mike's neighbor, joined him for drinks, she later killed herself after her husband acosted her and raped her ("Renewal")
Family:
Mother: Physically abusive towards Mike, an alcoholic who made Mike go for liquor as a child ("Diamond Dogs")
Father: Korean war vet, fighter pilot ("Watch"), had a heart transplant c. 1983, occassionally hit his wife
Older Cousin: Dave, took Mike for a ride in his GTO around Time Square and gave him beer when he was twelve ("Renewal")
Partners:
Max Greevey: (Mothership S1) deceased, married to Marie, three kids, killed in front of home to prevent him from testifying at the Grand Jury of a high profile case, occasionally argued (loudly) with Mike
Phil Cerretta: (Mothership S2 & Part of S3) Transferred from 35th Precinct, married, five kids, Italian, loved good Italian food and hated street vendor hot dogs, shot while undercover by a weapons dealer (Mike was only a few feet away hiding in a closet), took desk duty after he recovered
Lennie Briscoe: (Mothership S3-S5) deceased, married and divorced several times, at least one daughter, who was killed after testifying in a drug case
Tony Boyer: ("Exiled: A Law & Order Movie") from 128th Precinct in Staten Island, likes to beat up suspects, Logan got in a physical fight with him to stop him from brutalizing an abusive husband on a domestic call
Frankie Silvera: ("Exiled: A Law & Order Movie") from 128th Precinct in Staten Island, seperated from husband, one kid, dry humor (sorta like Eames actually), partnered with Logan after their Lt. split Logan and Boyer for fighting
Carolyn Barek: partners with Logan for S5 (I'll let one of the Barek fans describe her more)
Megan Wheeler: partners with Logan for S6 and S7's "Contract" to present (same thing for Wheeler)
Nola Falacci: partners with Logan from "Seeds" to "Senseless" (ditto for Falacci)
Known Favorites:
Food: Street vendor hot dogs (just watch almost any Mothership episode and he'll eat a hot dog in at least one scene), Perogis ("Diamond Dogs")
Drink: Scotch ("Renewal") and Major Case Coffee (haha)
Music: Frank Sinatra ("ITWSH")
There's lots more but this post is already horribly long.

His whole family is blood type A (60) [Mat M.]
His cousin played bass in a band (69)
He went to Catholic school (73) [Mat M.]
Had a girlfriend who got an abortion (79)
His mother had cirrhosis of the liver (84)

I forgot about Logan's hair! His hair color varies depending on which season it is. For example, right now, it's dark brown but early S5's color is, what my friends and I affectionately call, shoe polish brown. Sometimes he has gray at the temples and sometimes he doesn't. In "Stress Position", it's almost black. Just thought I would note that, though there are precious few Logan fics.

I was confuzzled for a minute because I didn't remember discussing this. I think the person was expressing a personal opinion that, based on the character, he wouldn't date someone much younger. But you are right, that isn't canon. So anyone writing an OC romance with him can make her any age she wants. It's up to individual writers to make it believable (or not).

I'm finally catching up on some of the threads I've been neglecting - as time allows. This real life work and family thing just does not know when to cooperate with me.
On the issue of age, I agree with you TCIF - I have a girlfriend who is my age - 47. When she was in her early twenties, she met, fell in love and married a widower with a 13 year old daughter. He was in his late 40's at the time. They've been married almost 25 years and have a son who just turned 18. They are one of the happiest couples I've ever seen. They share interests that brought them together and age has never been an issue for them.
When it comes to Bobby, I wrote the character of Charli as younger from the perspective that despite the age difference (16 years), it was their similarities and understanding of each other that drew them together. Love comes in all shapes and sizes and can work given the desire of the two people involved to build a life together.
I do agree that Bobby would not date some giggly immature '20 something' - he would be interested in an intelligent, caring woman with whom he shared a common attraction and found interesting - jmo.

Okay a few other Goren facts I didn't see posted yet:
Read the Qur'an while in Germany to impress a Turkish Muslim girl who lived near the base.
Didn't take anyone to his dad's funeral, but he did clean out his apartment where he found the TV propped where his dad could watch as he ate over the sink... the lonely man's setup.
His mother wouldn't open the birthday present he bought her because she was waiting for Frank. She never did open it.
While in Korea, he either ate or was with a buddy who ate Sannakji, a dish made with live octopus. According to him, when you try to eat it the tentacles go up your nose. Goren found this hilarious.
At least during season one, he seemed to have a regular poker game he wanted an old girlfriend to come to. I'm speculating it's a group of college buddies only because the woman (I think she was Irene, but too lazy to look it up now) seems more like someone he'd know that way, rather than from the old neighborhood or his army or law enforcement days.
Likes to read on his treadmill. Smithsonian Magazine fits perfectly.
Typically arrives at work earlier than Eames.
Has the top gun locker in the squad room.
Lets Eames drive. Would let Bishop scroll, but she declined.

thankx for reassuring the name Lola for me. Wouldn't it be cool (now please don't try this) if we called those numbers and Bobby was at the other end. That'd be like awsome!!
Oh and thanx for ruining my first non-shippy story with the he-wouldn't-date-a-20-year-old crap. I was going to write non-shippy for a change (though is insprired by a shippy story, but yet has no hint of shippyness)

He now has the second locker, I noticed that has changed, you will notice that in untethered. Wonder if that is due to his age and size.
One difference he mentioned his dad grew avocado pits in a glass.
I think the treadmill is dead.
She could have opened the present later, but we didn't see it. At the end of the episode I didn't notice a present wrapped up among her things.

555 numbers don't exsist, they are reserved for movies and tv shows. funny isn't it, notice they always use those.
And Bobby would only date a 46 yr old cajun ex nurse! Get that into yall heads,

oh and her name is Abby! And thats a fact Jack!
