As for the age thang, I think in fan fiction its up to the writer, If they want to write Goren gay, hey go for it. Just warn the writer, just like shippy ones, warn me please, I hate shippy. But If they had Goren dating a young girl on the show, like that Leslie chick I don't know her age, I don't feel that would suit him. I would lose respect for Goren.

Just for the record, I'm 47 so age is not an issue when I write a fic. I base my characters on various aspects and simply don't think that characters should be stereo-typed since folks are different all over the world. What might work in one story, may not work in another.

I do agree with the fact that maturity plays a great deal in the characater development and interaction with canon characters. I know very old 25 year olds and very immature 50 year olds.

We all have our opinions. I simply don't think that an opinion should be considered 'canon' as opinions are different for everyone.

I didn't see your original post with regards to the bi-racial relationship until you quoted it just now. I don't see Goren as having an issue with race, either (obviously) and that's just my opinion. I think the man is very accepting of people in general regardless of age, race, etc.

I would have a problem writing him with another woman at all until I finished with the Bobby/Charli stories but doubt that I have the talent to pull it off either.

I don't see a problem either, but I think it would take a lot of discriptive capabilities, which I don't have.

Do you know where the info about Alex's mom's stroke appeared? I've read it in a lot of fanfics, but I can't remember having ever heard about it in the show.

Bobby's partner (Alex) is older than him. Both have troubled backgrounds, and both have had cases where their past is dragged back to light. Neither have married and/or have been married in the past. I'm actually writing 2 stories about Bobby being involved in inter-racial relationships with African-American women. The first one's called "Bobby's Angel." The 2nd story is called "The Story of Cecelia Rose." (Bobby's a teenager in this one.) They're posted on FanFiction if anyone is interested. Be warned: the 1st story is LONG (over 100,000 words). I don't focus too much on race in "Angel", but for "Cecelia Rose," race will be issue for some of the characters down the road. I agree with a previous poster's comment that Bobby would love any woman no matter the color of her skin. Shoot, I bet he'd even love a green skinned woman from Orion. Or did I just mix him up with Captain Kirk?

I can't tell you the episode but it was DEFINITELY mentioned in the show.


we don't know that. Senior partner doesn't mean that she's older, I think it either means that she's longer in Major Case or simply longer at the NYPD. We could probably guess her age because we know that she's been in the academy in the year that little girl was killed on Halloween.

I don't think Alex is older than Bobby, either. If we factor in Bobby being in the military before joining the academy, plus having some college, he was most likely already close to or slightly over 30 when he became a police officer. Alex went to the Academy right out of college, so she would have been closer to 25 or 26 when she entered the force. So, she would be "senior" in terms of years on the force, not age.
