The story is, she wanted more money. I guess she did not get it and quit.
My undestanding is that Bitty, Ted and Jason tried to renegotiate their contracts: Money and screentime, before the contracts were actually up for renegotiation. Bitty held out too long, she and "Monk" parted company, seemingly on good terms.
Hi Bubba here, we miss her being on the show, but Traylor is a great addition to it.
I'm not sure they were such good terms.

Well, Bitty's people said it was on good terms, and the producers of Monk said it was on good terms. I haven't seen anything to say that it wasn't, so...
