Hey guys, it's time to take you back 6 years ago this month.

Jeff Hardy wins the WWE European Heavyweight Championship

It was July 8, 2002, just 1 week after Jeff Hardy had a hard fought Ladder Match against The Undertaker for the Undisputed WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Despite coming up short of winning the gold, Jeff Hardy had another title shot.

This time, for the WWE European Heavyweight Championship, the same title that was also held by his older brother Matt Hardy who won the title in 2001 from the late Eddie Guerrero.

Jeff Hardy defeated William Regal for the Championship, but then, the following week, Regal took a shot @ Jeff Hardy during Hardy's Tag Team Match, but @ Vengeance 2002 in Detriot, MI, Regal finally got a rematch against Hardy, but then came up short once again.

and on that night, it would be the last time that the WWE European Heavyweight Championship would be defended LIVE on a WWE PPV

Jeff Hardy held the gold for 2 weeks

This was also, the 5th traditional title that Jeff Hardy has held in the WWE

He has held the following championships:

WWE World Tag Team Championship w/his brother Matt (6 times)
WWE I-C Heavyweight Championship (4 times) def. Triple H, John Morrison and Umaga
WWE Light-Heavyweight Championship def. Jerry Lynn
WWE Hardcore Championship (twice)
WWE European Heavyweight Championship def. William Regal

But now, Jeff's only dream is to win the big traditional championship:

The WWE Heavyweight Championship and put his name on the list along w/the likes of Buddy Rogers, Bruno Sammartino, Superstar Billy Graham, Macho Man Randy Savage, Bret "The Hitman" Hart, Brock Lesnar, Big Show, Kurt Angle, the late Eddie Guerrero, Rob Van Dam and of course, Stone Cold Steve Austin

and that's your look at an event that is 6 years in the making:

Jeff Hardy wins the WWE European Heavyweight Championship on RAW

Hi Bubba here, thanks for the lookback. WWE might want to bring back that title one day.
