Matt Nix, here, creator of Burn Notice.

It's the eve of the premiere, and I'm logging on for the first time in ages. Sorry to have been gone so long... We've been working really, really hard to make the show.

I just wanted to say to everyone how grateful we all are for your support. I really hope you guys enjoy the premiere episode tomorrow. It's a little nerve-wracking reading reviews [We love it! We hate it! You're a genius! You're an idiot!] but it's a real comfort to know there's a group out there rooting for us.

Thank you.

Burn Notice rocks! Thank you Matt and everyone involved in making this show so damn funnnnnnnnnnnnnn!

Matt,
Thanks for coming out of Lurking and giving a shout out. Yes, we are all waiting in anticipation to see what you and the crew have come up with to top or at least equal what you have hooked us from the first word of your creation of Burn Notice. Hope everyone has a blast watching the show and the reviews come in. You know that we are all behind you as not so quietly stated on the Forum. Congrats in advance to another great summer of the show. "Cuz we'll be watching".
NatashaFatale
Thank you Matt! And give a big shout out to everyone working so hard on the show - we wouldn't be here without you!

Thanks for coming on the forums and talking to us fans!

We're all so excited for the premiere tomorrow! I know it will be amazing! biggrin.gif

No, thank you, you brilliant and talented genius!! Was that too much??? But seriously, thanks. You know we've all been very anxious for the 2nd season, and have waited patiently (10 months!!!!!)

A couple questions, if you don't mind? rolleyes.gif

Will you have another extended hiatus, or can we look forward to a split season?

Will the writer's blogs and Fiona's blog be continued this season?

When will the 'ask a spy' questions start to be posted? Will we get a new one tomorrow night?

Again, Love the show, hop on whenever you can, and tell everyone we said Hiiiiiii...
Nix
No, I don't mind.

1. Yes, a split season. 9 episodes in summer, followed by 7 episodes in winter. Which means two big season finales, two big season openers.

2. There will be writers notes - factoids about the eps. Fiona's going to do her own video thing like "ask-a-spy" and there will be interviews with me about the episodes.

3. There will be new ask-a-spy's, but not immediately. We've got to figure out how to get them done with the show schedule so tight.

Can hardly wait for the premiere of S2, Matt...all of us diehard fans are so stoked that it's finally only hours away! There's no doubt that season 2 will be brilliant and totally enjoyable to watch! Thank you, thank you for all that hard work!!

ladeeDi...good questions!! biggrin.gif Was glad to read those answers.

Quite the coincidence to see your post Matt. I was just thinking how much it must suck to pour your life into something, then have to hear from critics like that guy at USA Today!

My husband (an aspiring mystery writer) and I are so into BN that we're feeling your pain. That guy can't possibly be right.

Just remember, who reads USA Today anyway -- only if it's left at your hotel room door and you're bored to desperation!!

Matt,

We wouldn't all have been here waiting for, what, 10 months? for new Burn Notice episodes if it wasn't an awfully good show. Take that to heart and to all the cast and crew when the enthusiasm flags in the late afternoon humidity. We appreciate your efforts to entertain us and to succeed with something new and different.

And it's finally here! Yes!
mjwannabe
We don't care what the reviewers say - we know what a good quality show Burn Notice is and we will always support it!

It's finally July 10!!! smile.gif

Thanks for posting Matt and answering questions too. And also thanks to everyone involved with the show.

Quick concept -- the "new math"

Critics + Espionage Program (or in my book, any program, but sticking to the main idea) = TRUE LIES

They don't know anything we don't....they know what they like and that's all well and good, but I think this "modern age" can think for themselves and know if they like something or not......

BTW, I still love Swingtown, but to quote another "classic" film...."Unfortunately <Dr Scott> plans are to be changed....." ST will land on Tivo.....I'm In for tonight!!!!! (probably tivoing the 1AM too....just for personal reviewing pleasure biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif )

See Ya'll then!!!!

Hey Matt:
Will the stars be doing more TV interviews? We saw Gabrielle Anwar on the Today Show. Will there be more of these from you or the other stars of the show? I'd love to see you guys on the late night talk show circuit. Well, any chance we get to hear about the show or see the stars is a delight.

Hi Bubba here, thanks Matt for stopping by and giving us that great information. Keep up the great work.

Matt,

Thanks so much for all your hard work...thanks to everyone involved with BN. It's one of the best shows on TV. I will tell you that you did a great job picking your "stars". I've read JD's remarks about how fans stop him and tell him that they love the show, but JD is a great actor. Of course, BC, GA and SG are the best. Please keep up the good work. You are appreciated!

BTW, I love the DVD!

Thanks again,

Mr. Nix,
Thank you so much for being on the Forum again and answering question. But most of all, thank you for a great show, wonderfully written and excellently acted. Keep up the great work and cheers to a fantastic second season. To all the actors, cast, and crew Thank you for your hard work too and Congrats on jobs well done. Peace.

Hello everyone -- stepping out of lurkerdom finally. I caught Burn Notice on its encore run this past spring and I confess I am thoroughly addicted to it.

Matt, I have a question (and forgive me, fellow BN fans, if this has already been answered at some point in the past here). I want to do something I have never done before in my 37 years on this planet -- which is write a letter to the hard-working crew of Burn Notice to let them know how much I appreciate all that they bring to the show (the writers, the props guy, the wardrobe guys, the locations manager, the stunts coordinator, the behind-the-scenes guys). Anyway, I'm wondering where would be the best place for me to send a note addressed to the entire crew? The details brought to this show by the crew are exceptional and although I don't even know half of the things they do, I can tell you the details really *do* matter and they are such a delight to my eye and always are informative to the cast of characters.

Anyway -- great, great show! Thank you muchly, Matt (and many thanks to the entire cast and crew)!

Oh, and to everyone here at the forum -- thank you for the great bevy of info and news about all things BN-related, I've really enjoyed reading everyone's thoughts about the show.
DanJ
Matt, thanks for a great show. Happily, it continues to originate from Miami - don't ever change that!

Looking forward to tonight's premier!

Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful show.I'm new here on the USA forums. Came here searching for more infomation on a casting spoiler I read over on the SciFi forums.

Thanks Matt, love the show. THANK you for having the artistic integrity to film BN in Miami. Born and raised there, and recently moved to Puerto Rico, but can't beat the scenery. Only place in the world where when the Director says "action", he knows the atmoshere will be perfect! If you ever want to visit PR, come out to Isabela on the NW coast , avoid San Juan at all cost. Island Jo & Crew - out!

Hey Nix,

We should be thanking you! You gave us something that's entertaining meanwhile educational. You created something you now realise - you've created a fan base. Even though from time to time, the fans of BN will have their opinions towards the scripts, actors, and everything else, the one thing we can't forget is the one that started it all - you. We're greatful for what you've created and have done. I don't know all of the reasons you had for creating the series; but this series is one that has some truths in it alot of people don't know about. I'm glad to say, thankyou for letting the world know your creativity and letting some truths come out that have been hidden for years.

smile.gif Once again, Thankyou !!! smile.gif

Mr. Nix,

What a joy and a delight to finally see a creative, well-written, intelligent and entertaining show! And also a joy and delight to get to thank the creator of that show for bringing it to us! Love it, love it, love it! biggrin.gif

The premiere was fabulous, and I've enjoyed the episodes since then, too. And a split season? WHOO-HOO!!!! Yep, gotta say it--I'm hooked!

As for the critics, phoo on 'em. It's gotten so that if critics pan something, I'll go out of my way to see it. So forget their nonsense--you've got a solid fan base that's only getting larger with every new viewer I tempt into seeing the show. wink.gif

Thanks, and here's to a wonderful Season 2! wub.gif

Ditto, all goofiness (from my previous post) aside, the show is great...I missed the first season, but got drawn in by something (yeah, probably BC smile.gif ) just a couple weeks ago...2 on air reruns later, I was flying through season 1 online, and (as many here can attest) flying all over this board....It's not too much or too little of anything.....there's comedy, romance, action, intrigue...not necessarily in that order wink.gif ...and much more!!! Critics don't know squat...They know what they like, and guess what, so do I....SO DO WE!!!! Maybe some cross-advertising on other networks (I almost hate to say it, NBC?), and/or character crossovers with other USA shows (a la IPS and L & O: CI, though more screen time would be better in my book, so the other fans could catch more than a visual glimpse of the character, they could get to know them a touch as well), and/or even getting them into the "characters welcome" comercials for the station (Mike, while on a case, runs into Mary talking with Goren....nah, that's too complicated biggrin.gif ), might boost recognition and thereby viewership....aside from that....can't think of much more of a boost. You have a good thing going, variety is good, and there's plenty of that too, but I wouldn't reccommend messing with the "main ingredients"....just look what happened with New Coke!!!!! laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Keep up the great work!!!!

Hi to Nix and all the Burn Notice fans

Just wanted to say that BN Season 2 is off to a fabulous start...2/2 episodes shown so far have been outstanding. While I'm seriously concerned about Fiona (the end of the premiere where she seemed so...passive...about where she is in her life really bothers me...she's usually one to get angry and/or take something out with a firearm or explosives directed at a hapless object) I am glad that the show still has its outstanding sense of humor intact.

Keep up the hard but good work over there smile.gif

You can get to both from the BN homepage. Click on "The Show" link at the top of the page to select "Burn Notes" -- it's text. Click on the "Video" link, also at the top of the page, to select "Episode Commentaries" -- it's a video of Matt Nix speaking.
