Listen, please, for the love of Monk - can we please attach a spoiler label to any spoilery activities. I really dont want to read any and I know it's hard with the new season coming up, but really, I do 90 percent of the work by just staying out of the spoler threads. Like maybe instad of an OT: we could have an S: before the title?

It's not so much for me, mind you. I'm an adult and I have much worse happen on a daily basis. But there's this little kid in me who cheers "Monk, Monk, Monk!" Just like Tommy and too much information will overhype it for him or just plain kill the suprise.

Mandeville, there was no spoiler in this thread, only a prediction (mine- re the Audi ad, and the Monkish prediliction towards product placement) . And a hope (Ashley's - that Monk wants to and is able to safely drive an Audi).

I don't think it would work on IPS or BN and Psych isn't sophisticated enough.......

Notice the other ads, all for the other programs but not for MONK, he doesn't need props to get attention to his series...6++ million and counting.

I think they do the car product placements on Monk because the demographics of the audience; people who watch Monk might be more able to afford an Audi, whereas people who watch Psych might be more able to afford, lets say, pineapples. Which is the only thing I've ever seen repeatedly 'advertised'.

Okay, so I need to make this clear. Not everyone who watches Monk can afford an Audi (especially after blowing all that money on the season 5 Buick Lucerne.) However, people who are in the Monk demographic are who(m) they are advertising to. So, Monk watchers = Audi customers. Especially if one of the characters (maybe Randy can trade in his Ford Festiva for an Audi) is seen driving it.

kees_lady, yes to the pineapple upsidedown cake, no to the Cool Whip. We only used fresh whipped cream or some Devonshire cream. Cool Whip, where does she think she is, the Psych board?

Please allow me to rephrase my earlier rant and clear up some misconceptions.

Secondly, its a product placement spoiler. Not the most horrible fo spoilers. Rather tame. But unlabeled.

And you have no idea how frustrating it can be to try and avoid the spoilers. I'm tapdancing on the landmines, waiting for the new season to start, drowning in Law and Order, trying to get my taxes paid and Something had to give!!!

I guess it comes down to how sure you were. If you're right, it's a spoiler and you're wrong. But if you're wrong, then it's not a spoiler, and rather than being right about the spoiler, you were wrong, and just wrong.

I love spoilers and Audi is my favorite car!!! Gordan Ramsey looks great in his Audi convertible. I'm not afraid to proclaim my love for Psych, but worship Monk.
