Is there a place in the Monk forum to present ideas to the show's writers or anyone else who might actually use them in future episodes? I'd like to see a show that gets Adrian into geocaching, orienteering, or some other modern version of a treasure hunt.

Yeah, a more high-tech version of the one with the three dofus'.

I'd like to see Adrian outwit a high ranking military official in front of others of his stature. Like unmasking which of 5 generals was guilty, rahter than an inlisted man who was framed. Maybe it could even be a Mitch story of some kind. But it would be nice - because they would all feel SOOOOO superior and when Monk unmasks all he learned just from meeting them and solving the case they could all leave stunned.

It would be a thing of beauty.

I thought we had that episode already. Mr. Monk and the Buried Treasure.

I don't know if they go for bare ideas or something more developed/outlined, but if you want your suggestions to be taken more seriously, your best bet is to send them through conventional channels. I suggest sending them to one of the Executive Producers, or directly to Andy Breckman. I can't tell you whether you'd use the same address as autograph requests--there's probably a different contact address for that. You'd have to do some digging, unless someone in here has that information.

I wonder if someone doesn't peek in on the board...right after I joined there was a thread on episode ideas and I posted the idea of how would MONK behave if he had amnesia, would he still be OCD, somewhat or all the way and the next setof the season, voila, we had an episode called, "Bumps His Head."

I'm not taking any credit for putting the idea into anyone's head but, I like to think someone from the PTB read that post and wrote the episode because they thought it would be as intriguing as I thought it would be. I loved that episode, watching Adrian take directions from Cora...lol, I found it hilarious and everything I thought it would be if Adrian had a slight case of amnesia.

The same thing happened to me, I was talking on a thread how Adrian would hate to go to the dentist, and then a while later the Dentist episode appeared.

When I ws very little there was a short running show called Automan. He was an 'auromatic man' built using computer code and generated in the real world with a really cool car and a computer graphic sidekick named Cursor.

Well I imagined a robot side kick for him that I called the Autobaot. And then, less than a year later Autobots and decepticons made thier first appearance in the original Transformers cartoon series.

I think ideas float in a pool of some kind, and we can all dive in to the pool and see the ideas - but then - later - when we're back in this world... Only the people in a position to do something about it actually get to do something about it.

And I didnt just jump to that conclusion. I watched for years before I became convinved that I was right. Ideas have a 'time' and during that time they are available all across the boards to anyone who seeks them.

Then, the next time you see them - it's in this world, reflected in someone elses work.

Ideas are not singular. One idea is multi-existant at any given time.

Shawn Fennig knew that when he invented Napster (Music Sharing Software) so he stayed awake for days to write it and get it operational. Because he knew that if he could figure it out, so could somebody else.

But that doesnt mean we dont have original thoughts and notions. But what happens is - they come off the bottom of the pool like dust, spread out all over, murking up the water, and finally settle to where anyone diving can see them, take them back and do something with them, etc.

It's just the gears of the universe whirling away and keeping everything moving forward. And if you watch them too long you start to go a little mad, but it's kind of worth it, as it lets you swim a little deeper in the pool on occasion.

Are you waxing poetic or just trying to blow our bubble out of the water there, -M. It could happen, we post a 'what if' idea, TPTB pick it up and run with it - it could happen this way, I'd like to think it happened this way, maybe did happen this way........but, I could be wrong and we all had the same idea around the same time....

I want to believe, I want to believe....I want to believe they were absent of ideas and took one of our and ran with it, biggrin.gif

I was on another Boad and yes the possibility is there, on the "other" Board it was the actual ( one of producers ( read HEAVY weight actor, not in frame though) and a couple of key actors, they shared an account) it made for some very intresting info planted to see if fans would like an idea or not. We did have a writer guy who was ( still is a fan) who put stuff out there, but he was let in on who the "poster(s)" really was/were and I believe he has since submitted items though them. I should say that "they" came to you, unless you guessed, and asked outright then sometimes they would confirm, other than that it was all kept quiet. But yes if it's an Official Board you bet someone is either on or looks in biggrin.gif

<Mandeville waves to all the professional peekers out there>

What? It was better than mooning them!
