How much do you want to bet that Mary's Father is in the program... I sense a cliff hanger for the season finale that reveals this little tidbit....

My question is...has Mary known all along - but not said anything because she can't divulge agency secrets.... or, if it happens would it be as much of a shock to her too?

I can't imagine though working in WitSec but not doing a search of the system for the father who disappeared when she was 7... I mean HELLO! She makes people "disappear" on a regular basis.

Hi Bubba here, that is an interesting theory. He could be in the system, I think if she find him in there, she would be shocked. I don't why she hasn't tried to find him in the system or any other ways.

most interesting thoughts...and what you say does make sense ! glad to see there are
two shows left. Thought there was only one....will miss the show a lot. Have enjoyed it.
Last night's show was very good. Very emotional last scene for Mary.

Dad in the program would be a nice dramatic twist. But, when they move witnesses, they also move families. Therefore, will have to come up with a reason why Dad did not take Mary, Mom and Sis along. Maybe he ONLY took the mistress? (joke).

I don't see her Father being in the program, but it makes a lot of sense in what kind of work she choose.

She is reloacting families, people, giving them a new life, a new start, maybe she wishes she could have done that for her own family.

This is a new glimpse that is Mary. Love it!

I will hazard a guess her Father is dead, having owed too much to some bookies, but maybe just maybe someone is in the system who knows what happened to her Father, and is going to spill some beans to Mary when he innocently finds out who she is.

Well, going with the concept that he is alive, who would you like to see him played by if her were to show up in her life....being who her mother is played by....I would love to see Donald Sutherland <Great Train Robbery>; Impish, possible "evil", but you could dig deep and find a caring heart inside smile.gif

I love Donald Sutherland. How about one of his costars from Space Cowboys--Tommy Lee Jones (on of my all-time favorite actors).

He has a rugged, tough look--and he looks like he's lived a hard life, as I suspect Mary's father has.

The same thing occured to me after they got the letter from the FBI saying that after 25 years they are having him declared dead.

I just couldn't figure out why if he was going into witness protection he wouldn't take his family with him. I'd think if really bad people were after him because he testified against them his family would be at risk if they couldn't get to him.

I'd imagine though that with them bringing him up like this now, it's sure to follow that something more concrete will happen now. Like either he'll turn up in person, or they'll find out what really happened to him in some way.

I was re-thinking what you said about Mary’s Dad being in the program. My first thought was no way—because Mary, Mom, and Sis were left behind. But, it could be that Mom refused to go. What if she had had enough of his “ways” and saw this as a chance to get out? Mary was only 7 and Sis younger, if Mom said Dad left, then that’s what they would believe. What if having to keep that secret all these years is part of what’s behind Mom’s irrational behavior.

When a person goes into the program and the family is also a target, but did not want to go with the Primary, would they be relocated separately?

Of course, I don’t believe for a second that Dad is in the program, especially in light of the lets-declare-him-dead letter. But, it is a doable.

While I absolutely adore Donald Sutherland, I think Sam Shepard as Mary's Father would be so awesome.
And would also fit nicely agewise, and Sam is a good looking, rugged man.
So many rugges actors....Tommy lee Jones, adore him...
but still my favorite out of that bunch is still Sam.
