That is really, really wonderful. Thanks for posting that Graphic Big B.

And everyone else have fun but be careful. I only want to hear stories about good things when you all get back here after the holiday!

Love the graphic Bubba There...I get all choked up over patriotic things like that.

We had our big 'Rythym N Booms' last Saturday...Madison has the largest celebration in the Midwest and so it doesn't conflict with other traditional holiday celebrations it's always held the Sat. before the 4th.

I was standing in the parking lot when the F-16's did their formation flyover, I felt such a rush (they were so low I could almost see the pilots), my eyes well up, don't ever take me to watch military precision marching, I'd flood you out.

I'm spending a quiet 4th with my dog and a good book and watching the televised rythym n booms replay of the fireworks, set to music. We're having brats and dogs, then back to the no cholesterol diet on Monday, dang it!

Everyone = have a great week end...and while you are celebrating say a little prayer for all our men and women who are fighting to keep this country free...then say a little prayer for our wounded warriors - they are all the true heros. wub.gif

Patriotic? Oh, right. With the flag. I'm just a huge fan of the letter "T" and that Graphic, it just... Wow, you know?

lol.

Okay, so I'm only fond of the capial T. Not an avid fan or anything.

And there has been more than enough reason to celebrate our troops lately. I myself think they're due for a rest and some some happily ever afters if we can swing it. And it's certainly a day to keep the sacrifices of others in mind.

But let us not forget the meaning of independence. It didnt come from the followers or the people in favor of the status quo. It came from the will of the people to change the status quo to make life better.

That's independence, to be able to change the status quo in favor of a better path. And we should celebrate that by doing that. What better way to honor all those who we lost defending our country?

This post has been brought to you by the soul of a patriot... And the letter "T".

I had two steaks, a baked potato, and chocolate pudding for desert. Right now, I'm going after a cinnamon bun.

Happy 4th Everybody!

Okay, get this -- was at a church picnic -- great time -- Played a little bocce, cook out, bonfire, smores, and... cool.gif

A whole lot of Monk talk

I found out that one of the other ladies at our church is also a major Monk fan, and the topic kind of came up (if you take me anywhere for longer than an hour or two -- the topic will come up), and we must have talked Monk for two solid hours. I told her about the message board (Are you lurking???), and we had a great time.

Everybody else left the room -- but we had a great time. tongue.gif

Great! A Monk buddy for you!! My friends who profess to like Monk just stare at me when I start talking about it. (I suspect they are not real fans, and just said they liked the show to be polite! I suspect this because it only takes two minutes of Monk talk to make their eyes glaze over!) Lucky you!

Oh, we were fine -- everybody else just glazed over after a while. Every conversation led right back to Monk -- for instance.

Non-Monk lover: My Dad and I were going to go over to the octagon house on Sunday afternoon. It's open for tours.

Monk-buddy: You know the problem with that -- no right angles.

Me: At least it's an even number.

Monk-buddy: Yeah <laughter> eight sides.

Me: I wish there were ten of them.

<Uproariously laughter from Monk-buddy and me -- with hints of wheezing (we're both asthmatic)>

Non-Monk lover: <blank stare> Yeah, well, goodnight.

I'm sorry, but I did have an unsafe holiday. Well, the firework thing tipped over and shot into my friend's neighbors yard. It didn't catch fire though so everything was alright. lol. It was one of those things that was scary when it happened and funny now that I think about it. laugh.gif

Wasn't it the best? It should come with a uninary incontinence warning for menopausal women.
