-- The BBC News website has an article on WWE Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston (real name Kofi Sarkodie-Mensah). Kingston claims he was born in Jamaica ("I was actually born in Jamaica - to be honest with a name like Kofi a lot of people assume I was born in Ghana."), but his mother, who is quoted in the article, says otherwise. Kingston has absolutely no ties to Jamaica. Though Kingston denies it, his mother Elizabeth Sarkodie-Mensah - the head of a Ghanaian-American organization in the US - confirms that he was indeed born in Ghana, and not in Jamaica. The family moved to the U.S. from Ghana in 1982. "I told him: 'Kofi, your cousins watch you on TV in Ghana and want to know why you don't say you're from Ghana,'" Kingston's mother said. "He said: 'Tell them it is business.'" After revealing his true background, Kofi has banned his mother and the rest of his family from speaking to the media "for fear of compromising his career." Hi Bubba here, folks aren't going to give a rat's ass where you come from as long as you have talent, am I right? Kofi shouldn't have done that.

Your right Bubba, look at Great Khali,he is from India and he is making the Indians proud and WWE is gaining more fans in India.I guess WWE does not see Ghana as Marketable as Jamaica. Its the same with Armando Estrada,he plays a Cuban but he really is Arab.
