Ok here we go per JennaV's request.

Why we love Mr. Campbell so :

Um, his excellent acting skills, quick wit, crazy sense of humor, his goofy faces, evergrowing movie career (all excellent by the way) ....... all the funny pictures, his gag reel scenes, his very funny commentary (onthedvds) ....and the list goes on...oohh and he is adorable!!!!

why do you love him?
elisetx
BC is handsome...it's that simple!

laugh.gif Anyway, Sam reminds me of my husband! I finally got him to stop wearing those chains, but I'm telling you he loves those shirts and there's plently of beer in our fridge not to mention the flirty behavior.
Bubba_Bridges
Hi Bubba here, how can you not like Bruce? He's one the main reasons I watch the show. cool.gif Keep up the great work buddy!

Why do I love Bruce Campbell? Let me count the reasons:

1. He wrote an amusing, engaging autobiography (If Chins Could Kill...)

2. He's got a great scar and dimple on the left side of his face

3. He can laugh at himself (Make Love! The Bruce Campbell Way)

4. He makes me laugh, whether it's DVD commentary or media interviews

5. He's one of the most underrated performers ever

6. He makes classics out of cheesy lines ("Give me some sugar, baby"; "Hail to the king, baby"; "Groovy"; "Don't make me use my stuff on you")

7. He can get me to watch horror movies ("The Evil Deads, I & II")

8. He does great commentary on many of his movies that are on DVD

9. He plays Elvis in a nursing home...and convinces us it's possible ("Bubba Ho-Tep")

10. He gives me a new appreciation of the Three Stooges ("Evil Dead II"; "Army of Darkness")

11. He looks good on a horse ("The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr")

12. He looks good covered in Karo Syrup ("The Evil Deads, I & II")

13. He's from Michigan

14. Like Cary Grant, he just keeps getting better with age

15. Last, certainly not least, he's a damn fine actor.
NatashaFatale
that's a fantastic list, WestenWinch!

I heartily agree with everyone's postings above - Bruce has just 'got it'. Smart, sexy, funny - what's not to love? Rock on BC!

mjwannabe
I love BC for all of the same reasons y'all have posted. But I am going to share a personal story which really shows why I love the man.

Back in 2005 I was attending the horror convention Horrorfind in Baltimore where Bruce was a guest. Now I just had met Bruce for the third time about 3 weeks prior to this con. His line was 4 hours long so I decided to wait this one out. I was standing at a vendor's table and I look over to see this little boy who looked to be about 10 years old in a wheelchair and I could tell by lookiing at him that he was terminally ill. He was holding an Ash action figure from Army of Darkness and I heard him say to his mom "I hope I get to meet Bruce mom" and his mom told him she would try her best to get through the line. About an hour later I am walking past Bruce's line (which was HUGE!) and I see the mom standing in line with her little boy. They had a good 3-hour wait and Bruce was due to stop signing soon. So I went up to the lady who was overseeing Bruce's line and asked that she move this little boy to the front of the line. She didn't want to do that because he would be cutting in line. I told her that I had met Bruce 3 times before and I know for a fact he always lets disabled people come to the front of the line and especially when it is a little boy! So she walks over to Bruce and tells him about this little boy and Bruce says absolutely, he should be up front. So they come out and get the mom and his boy and take him directly to Bruce. You guys should have seen the look on this little boy's face. He was in heaven! Bruce was just wonderful with this little guy and spent time with him. A little bit later I see this little boy again so this time I went up and talked to him and said "So you got to see Bruce huh?" and his eyes were positively beaming. I found out from his mom that they were from New Jersey and that this little boy, named Robert, had leukemia and she had to get permission from his doctor to travel to see Bruce. This was in August. In December Robert passed away. I emailed Bruce about Robert and told him the next time he thinks what he does is silly and useless, to remember this little boy because he was Robert's hero.

I am crying as I type this. It's one of those things that never leaves me.
elisetx
OMG...I'm crying too! Thanks for the BC story. I've watched all the youtube stuff and he seems like a funny and geniunally nice man.
Cardinal2504
Wow...just wow.

I always wonder if people I admire for their acting abilities are as great in real life. For some--maybe most--probably not. It's nice to know that BC is one of the good guys.
JennaV
mjwannabe, that story is so touching! Makes me admire BC so much more for his compassion. But for you, too, mjwannabe. You didn't have to speak up for Robert. Most people wouldn't have, but you went out of your way to assure him a chance to see Bruce. That was a beautiful thing you did!!!

He is a regular guy with a BIG heart. I think I read above that he's from Michigan. That explains his down-to-earth hard working mentality.  I tend to NOT want to know about my fav actor's personal life because I don't want to find anything negative about them that will spoil my enjoyment of the characters they portray. This guy and the entire cast of BN are exceptional.

Well thank you, I appreciate that. It completely broke my heart to see this sick little boy. And I can't believe that lady didn't want him cutting in line. Come on! I told her everyone else in line was healthy and able-bodied, they can stand in line. This little boy cannot. So I was glad it worked out. I had no doubt whatsoever that BC would want it that way. At least Robert got a little bit of happiness.

So yes BC is definitely one of the good guys!

I am a big Fan of Bruce Campbell and have been since "Army of Darkness"! If it were not for Bruce, I wouldn't have even started watching Burn Notice as I think he makes a GOOD Show GREAT!!

I just read the post about little Robert and had a good cry as well. Even though I'm one of those "manley Men"...at least that's what I want folks to think! rolleyes.gif

Bruce....Keep up the OUTSTANDING work you do!
Fans.... Keep watching & praising good work and deeds when you encounter it! PEACE!!

Yes, he was born and raised in a suburb of Detroit, MI, around the same time that I was born and raised on a farm in northwestern OH (about 70 miles south of Detroit). It was nice to read a book that contained information about a place that I knew. And yes, while there are hard working people all over, I believe the midwest has more than the average... smile.gif

Thanks! I could have went on, and on...and on cool.gif , but I figured 15 was a nice round number. Although now, after mjwannabe's touching, uplifting story, I think I need to add #16:

He's as great a person off screen, as he is an actor on screen.

Mjwannabe, I was remiss not to include you in my response post to your story. As JennaV stated, not everyone would have went out of their way to ensure that little Robert was able to meet Bruce. Very classy!

Ash Honey...You got real ugly.

I love this line, too!

Also:
Sheila: But what of all those sweet words you spoke in private?
Ash: Oh that's just what we call pillow talk, baby, that's all.

There are some other good lines from Army of Darkness, but not sure if they're appropriate for this message board (funnier than heck, though). tongue.gif

In case someone's not aware (and to keep things straight), the "Don't make me use my stuff on ya, baby" is from Bubba Ho-tep. (This is the actual quote; I just checked. Sorry I didn't quote it accurately the first time; I should have known there was a "baby" in there).

Yes. I just saw Army of Darkness for the 2nd time over the weekend. I didn't care for it the first time I saw it which was last year. I sort of half-way paid attention to it. The 2nd time around I got the quick wit and I was thoroughly entertained. I was crackin' up thru out the movie.

I just rewatched Loose Ends epi where Sam was kidnapped.

We need Sammy to keep the show light. Otherwise, we'd be stuck with Mr. "I've Been Burned and I Hate Miami" or Ms. "Let's Shot'em First then Ask Questions".

Thanks everyone for all the info about BC. As a new fan, I look forward to getting hold of his books and the rest of his movies.

I like BC for all of his talent, his openness/realness, and his responsiveness to fans. As I've said with JD, I have never bothered to get involved as a fan at all with any other actors that I admire. These guys just seem worth it because of how down-to-earth they are and because they seem mature enough that they won't go Hollywood on us with the increased exposure -- so glad to keep hearing things consistent with this. smile.gif

I cried when I read the blurb on Bruce and that little boy. AND while I have done the same for others and I have been put in not altogether the same position as that little boy but very well could have been growing up, the comment that pisses me off the most was "ANYONE would have done the same thing". HONESTLY, ABSOLUTELY NOT. 99 percent of people don't nor would have but love to say and think that they would. I applaud Bruce for being nice enough to acknowlege him and yes, it was a very nice thing to make sure the little boy got to meet him.

Brisco County, Jr was a classic (A hex on Fox for cancelling it after one season). You should check out some of the other Bruce films, such as Bubba Ho-Tep and Army of Darkness. Bruce does good work in each.
