Full Version: In which Stan gets his own thread: because he's

He skirts the edges of episodes, gentle enough that he's easy enough to forget about, and if he's annoying anyone, apparently it ain't violently. Though his ability to chose gifts really is noteworthy for his ineptness.

Anyway, Stan, we love you, we cherish you, we erect this thread to honor you and await the impending shower of perfume, shoes, and crisp fifties.

Hi Bubba here, I really like Stan and how Paul plays his role. Keep up the good work!

Stan was brilliant from his first scene. Simple but bloody hilarious.

'Hi Stan' 'Hi Mary, it's Stan' 'Yeah I know Stan, that's why I said hello Stan.'

And we don't need to mention the mambo scene in much detail, his 'The peacock struts' was enough for me, absolutly brilliant. I am a Stan lover.

I was just thinking about creating a thread for Stan "the MAN" McQueen, so I'm glad I found this one. smile.gif He is SUCH a cutie and SWEETIE! I love his admiration for Mary and even though I think he tries to understand her, I think she's way to complicated for ANYONE to completely understand.

I LAUGHED my HEAD off when he gave her MONEY for her birthday! In a weird way it almost came across as paternal - like a thing a Dad would do. But, either way it was FUNNY!! biggrin.gif

Stan just rocks - especially for the little things he does.

The mambo scene was fabulous of course. Hysterical. But there's also the bridesmaid's dress that he thought was Marshall's (and Mary confirmed it)

I was re-watching the pilot last night and he drunkenly ruffles Marshall's hair as he goes past. Marshall gives him a little 'wtf?' look. Heh.

Marshall and Mary are like his kids. His problem children.

Now that Marshall is squared-away (for the time being, anyway), just wondering where is Stan’s person of interest. Been trying to envision the “right woman” for Stan—still working on that one. Although he seems to love everything about Mary (reminds me of a kid who wants two scoops on his ice cream cone, when he can only really handle one), someone with softer edges would probably suit him better.

We’ve seen Mary and Marshall “after hours”, with their someone, but not Stan. I think Stan should have a Match (or Mismatch) that we can all pick apart.

I think that Stan's going to be a bit more revealed soon. And maybe he doesn't need a love interest, or is one of those people that really, really keeps it private, just in case Mary decides to do an uninvited background check.

That Stan will get a love interest is more wishful thinking than an expectation. Shows generally give out-and-about-ers, such as Mary and Marshall, love interests all the time, but desk-jockey-bosses, usually not. But, since this is a show which, so far, has given us the unexpected—you never know.

You are almost certainly right about Mary “thoroughly inspecting” any love interest of Stan. She doubtless would be doing the same for Marshall’s, had he not hooked-up with some from his past.

Absent her dad, these two are the “men in her life” (Yes, Ralph is the man—but that’s another level) and it’s obvious how much she cares about them.
