He did, thank God. Clean shaven Bobby. I am watching and paying close attention. I missed the preview. Rainstorm came thru and knocked out the satellite. I am DVR'ing the midnight episode just for the preview. smile.gif
Gatepromise
I was gonna watch it anyway, but if Bobby shaved--woo hoo!!

Could someone please describe the preview for next week? I've got another 2 hours or so before I see it.

Preview for next week:
Spoiler:
There are several murders, all parents being killed in front of their toddlers. Then the narrator says until there is a new victim, and they show Bobby being held at gunpoint while two women are tied up in the background

Remember, this was filmed before the strike, which is probably why Bobby is clean shaven and wearing a suit. We probably won't see any of the partner-strife between Goren and Eames either.

i haven't really kept up with the discussion of when the eps were filmed/written. goren was clean shaven and wearing a suit at the end of purgatory, so i'm a lil confused...

His hair (real or not) did look really short in the previews, like it did at the end of Untethered. They have used that park location several times in previous episodes.

Some people said weather had caused the satellite to go out and they were unable to see the preview. I took this with my digital camera, so the sound quality isn't that good.
Quaxo
Just because the episode was filmed before "Purgatory" doesn't necessarily mean that it won't referrence events in it. It's common to shoot out of order to save time/money.

What do you mean about his hair? Are you talking about the hair on his head or face, real or not? I'm confused!

Judging who is pulling the trigger, all I know its a female because first off the gunperson in the end of the promo is wearing a light blue shirt and I think I just saw a ransom taking place inside a preschool (weird?). I love how Goren gets so innocent and defenseless when someone points a gun at him...

if no one had realize this, the full title "Please Note We Are No Longer Taking Any Recommendations from Henry Kissinger" is the longest Law and Order title in history and the longest CI title. Sometimes the titles are "Please Note..." or "Kissinger". And do I have one question, what in the world does Henry Kissinger has to do with the plot? Maybe something he did echoes the story for the episode.

I know, that why I put "Please Note ..." it would have taken up too much room the other way. I don't know what he has to do with it either.

Cluck, you are the best. Thank you. I would have gone crazy waiting until I got home tonight. Darn storm - I watched the whole Logan ep without a problem and then the satellite went out right for the preview!

I forgot this ep was filmed before the strike. And Bobby does look very distressed - but
Spoiler:
Do you think he's trying to draw attention from the hostages? That would be Bobby, worried about other people and not himself.

I am thinking that for status, parents have letters of recommendations written for their children to get into elite pre-schools. The more famous or highly-regarded the letter writter is, the parents might think their chances are greater of getting into the school.

I really hope this terrible break-up between Bobby and his Beard gets resolved soon. I can't bear to see them estranged from each other like this, it;s just killing my little fan heart.

Hopefully they won't just gloss over the issue, either - they HAVE to give it a decent amount of screen time. It's too crucial a matter to just skim over, don't you think???

I agree with your spoiler, Judy.

Spoiler:
I've also noticed that whenhe is confronted with violence like that (Siren Call, Stress Position), he gets this submissive pose. He keeps his eyes down, holds his hands up with palms out, and his whole body language is submissive. But then he starts talking, and talks himself right out of the situation.

I'm not sure what should be behind a spoiler cuat and what shouldn't but there you go.

Episodes where Goren and Eames interact with children are always very powerful, in my humble opinion. I'm looking forward to this one.

Thank you cluck for the preview. I am glad that this is the episode that was done before the strike, "Untethered" , and "Purgatory" maybe it will be a more straight forward angst free episode. I for one would like a soap free G/E episode.

Yeah, that's our Bobby... workin the psychology. Remember "Phantom", that early episode where Gerry (aka Ben Linus from Lost) in the hotel room with a shotgun on his sleeping children, and Bobby comes in and talks him down, first getting him to point the gun at himself instead of the children, then getting him to let go. Then all of a sudden he goes from mild and understanding to cop in action and slams him up against the wall. I love those "Bobby talks his way out" scenes!

I know! Bobby is so good at that! Seriously, if the Chief of D's had a brain in his head at all, he'd never even want to get rid of a highly intelligent, super sleuth case solver like our Bobby! Then again, there's that part about having a brain (even a small one) in his head...

Well I see where you're coming from, but I'm not there yet. That's always the danger when a show stays around for years. I think LOCI has found a pretty good balance keeping fans happy with the stuff that made them fans in the first place and going in new directions so they aren't just repeating themselves. I love a good "gotcha" aria as much as the next fan, but I'm also really interested in the character driven stories they are starting to tell.

I know Vincent has talked about pulling Goren in partially to keep from repeating himself too much. He's so good at what he does that he's entertaining whether he's playing it big or quiet. But if I could have one wish, it would be that he bring a little more of that animation and physicality back to his portayal of Goren. It's just so much fun when he does.

I agree with your spoiler, too. smile.gif
Spoiler:
I think Bobby's experience in profiling and working with various personalities has taught him how to react in certain situations - making eye contact would be threatening to the hostage taker, imo and Bobby knows this. He'll act submissive until he is able to gain control, whether mentally or physically. All the time, he will keep the focus away from the hostages in order to keep them safe.
