OK, I checked twice this time to make sure no one else has started this thread already. Vault has offered to get this to Chris through the writers if we want to post goodbye messages to him here. So I will start.

Goodbye Chris!

I can't tell you how much we are going to miss Logan; his humor, his "overreactions", his sarcasm, and of course--his plaid ties! I have been crying since I heard the news. OK, not real tears (don't want you to think my life is THAT sad!), but if you look through many of the threads on this forum, you will find lots of ::SOBS:: from me.

I have to tell you that I only watched LOCI occasionally in the 3rd and 4th seasons. But when I heard that you were joining the cast, I began watching your episodes because I have loved Logan since the beginning of L&O. I was so sad when you left the mothership and so I was thrilled when I heard you were coming to LOCI. I went from watching just the Logan episodes to watching all of them and now am a huge fan of the show, as well of Vincent, Kathryn, and Eric. I think Logan was a great alternate for Goren precisely because they are such different characters.

Your portrayal of Logan will always be the one that is nearest and dearest to my heart. But I am enjoying finding your other characters as well. I've only seen a few episodes of Sex and the City, and now I'm going to borrow the DVDs from my daughter. Mr. Big is the big (sorry!) reason I want to watch. Now I have to decide whether to wait for the movie to come out on DVD or go see it in the theater even though I've never followed the series. I've watched a few of your other movies and have enjoyed watching you in them all. A desperate father going underground to rescue his baby, a psycho killer--you are a joy to watch. I know that you called "The Perfect Man" a "crap movie", but I have to say that I thought it was adorable. No, not a GREAT movie, but fun. And one my daughter and I can both watch over and over; she watches for Hilary Duff, I watch for you.

So, goodbye. Thank you for the 5 seasons of Logan on L&O and another 3 seasons to enjoy him on LOCI. I will be watching to see where you pop up next. I hope for all the best for you, for Tara, and for Orion.

I do not watch SATC show, but your character Detective Mike Logan in Law and Order Criminal Intent with enthusiasm, determination to catch the goons, and all that, really brought me to love you more than any characters in all the shows. When you and your character leave, you will always be here in my heart and I will never forget the tremendous job you’ve done to keep the show on top. You will be missed thoroughly. The first time I saw you was on Season 6.

Thank you so much for Detective Mike Logan-of course, there was never a better coupling of male detectives than Briscoe and Logan-
You faced a tough challenge coming back on in CI and especially with three differnent partners, but I grew to appreciate Logan and Wheeler-

Words cannot describe how much I enjoyed watching Detective Logan. I have watched this character since the original Law & Order, and you are the reason I started watching Criminal Intent. Thank you so much for bringing this wonderful and complex character back.

While I know you are enjoying some much deserved success on Sex and the City, you will always be Detective Logan to me. Maybe someday, Lord willing, you can make a guest appearance or two.

Well Chris it's been a great experience having you back to play Detective Mike Logan again. Little did we know that you would end up on Criminal Intent and give us three great seasons of work. That was a most unexpected and delightful surprise.

Such a sad thing it is, to say goodbye--but as they say, one door closes and another one opens.
It was a joy watching you on the mothership, it helped me get through nursing school--some of my best memories from that time was when we would gather to watch L&O and we'd all discuss the cases. These past 3 years on CI have been a joy as well and I hope Det. Logan has a finish as befitting a beloved character.

I was shocked to hear you were ready to leave L&O! You will be missed; probably more than you will ever know or realize in your lifetime.

I'm proud to say that my younger teenage self had quite the crush on Detective Mike Logan, and would daydream that you came to my rescue, or questioned me as a witness, or even solved my murder. As Mike Logan you have given millions of people thousands of hours of viewing pleasure. As Mr. Big, you had millions of women swooning and imagining they were Carrie Bradshaw.

When you stepped back into the comfortable shoes of Detective Mike Logan once more, it felt to me like you had come back home. Thank you for helping to revive a show and keep it on TV.

The character of Mike Logan has become very dear to my heart. The Briscoe/Logan pairing was my favorite of all time in any Law and Order series. I am glad that you were able to have a chance to bring Mike back for three awsome years on Criminal Intent. I hope that he will at least pop in from time to time to visit.

My favorite show, well there are several, but the one you thought you found love with your neighbor and you were determined to find out what happened to her. The show with David Keith was awesome! I hope you read enough of these posts to realize how much we have enjoyed your work on L&O:CI. I started watching the original L&O, and was immediately drawn to the excellent writing and well-defined characters. It has been a pleasure to watch the character of Mike Logan evolve from the first years of L&O, to the TV movie you did, and finally to impress at L&O:CI. There are some excellent actors, and you held your own. I saw the "Sex and the City" movie (after following the series in the last 2 years) and was delighted to see another side to "Big".

I hope your future brings you what you are looking for. You have devoted fans that not many TV characters have.
Remember: we have believed in you since your first days of L&O. Best of luck and Godspeed. (You could always come back for special cases, could you not?)

I honestly don't think Logan will be killed off. I think he will be fired in case the fly doesn't work out. That's my opinion, but Logan will have a chance to return. Why haven't they promoted JG?

They probably won't promote him until they start promoting season 8. Maybe this time Kathryn or Julianne can take him a pie.

I thought I would bump this up one more time for anyone who hasn't had the opportunity to post their message to Chris. I believe the link to this thread has already been sent to him via the writers and I don't know if he has read our messages or will read them.

But, Chris, if you're reading, you are going to be missed. We have another whole thread where we have been speculating on how you will leave and worrying that Logan might be killed in the line of duty. Your last episode is just two days away now. When Logan leaves, he will leave a void for those of us who have watched and loved him since he first appeared on our TV screens in Law and Order. Logan is the reason I began watching LOCI and I find I am feeling rather melancholy today thinking about him leaving. However he leaves, whether he is killed, wounded, resigns out of weariness with the "banality of evil", or rides off into the sunset with the woman of his dreams--I know that you will give us what you always have; a truly wonderful performance.

I wish you all the best in whatever you do after Logan hangs up his shield. And all the best in raising that beautiful baby boy of yours!

You are an incredible actor and I never appreciated your character being compared to Mr. D's character; two very distinguished characters of no comparison. You brought a great character to life and I wish we could have got more of a glimpse into your life( one more season maybe) You will be missed and we all wish you well.
