I just had to make this thread, it's time to chog about the world's hottest geekman

What is everybody's fav Marshall moment as of yet? I loved the scene from the Pilot where Stan asks him why he's in the office and he says, 'I work here, Stan', he just has brilliant comedic timing. And his, 'It how we do, G' was a CLASSIC

I'm also considering starting a petition that states that Fred Weller should be made to remove his shirt on In Plain Sight

Lmao, aaaah, he so should though, really...*whistles*

Mine is definitely when Mary's yelling at him about leaving the program and asks "When were you going to tell me?" And he says something like "Actually, I was going to mail it to myself so you could read it."

AKA: Marshal your favorite Mann-erisms? He's the Mann? Speak, minions of the mellifluous Marshman?
I just love his name. Irony makes me giggle when it's just the intro to witty sarcasm.
My favourite line though: 'despite my athletic prowress and eagerness to please you I cannot outrun a horse.' Great delivery. Perfect example of post-excitement dry wit.
My favourite moment... I have to say the PJs. The PJ most definately, from a fangirl perspective. But from a slightly more mature viewpoint, the scene from the same episode where Mary gets back to the hotel late after visiting bad-daddy. I think it did a lovely job of foreshadowing their relationship, what with the personal situation yet professional context.

The episode of CI where Fred was a stablehand was in was on today. I didn't know who he was at the time so I hadn't realized it was him 'til then, and now that line is even funnier!
Another super-sweet line: "Do I look like a hero?" Saying it all like he's a little bit hoping she'll say yes. Or at least snark him out, which is nearly as good.

I'm new so I'm just gonna jump right in the Marshall Mann love pool.
I enjoy basically every single scene he's in...even when he doesn't have an dialogue, he's still funny with his face mannerisms. Plus the tall, gorgeousness factor brightens up the whole screen...
My favorite line so far has got to be the can't outrun a horse line and right after Mary sticks the tube in his chest he comes back and says "Better", just the way he says that makes me giggle.
I also enjoy his jeans and belt buckle!
I will sign your shirtless petition too!

Hi Everyone!
I'm a big fan of Marshall Mann (Frederick Weller...mm good!!). I think my favorite MM moment was when he was shooting at the people who shot him...guns a blazin' even though he was shot. What a man!!

"Make love to me, Marshall" and his reaction was priceless, he's like, 'Crap, crap, crap, MOVE!' and runs off lol. Bless.

I have liked Marshall since the first episode. He is a unique character, but also a character that is easy to relate to. He comes across as a person that would be very approachable and I LOVE that he has so much knowledge and he often surprises people with his knowledge.
Also, he has an absolutely ADORABLE smile!!

At least we can still dream, and forever write hot little ficcies referencing this communal moment of undnerstandable misidentification.
Marshall's always been a lovely character, but I actually fell in love with him during the pie-eating ramble on morality. Because who, out of nowhere, feels the need to compose an impromptu thesis? And especially, who does this while also being a bona fide bad ass lawman? Mary might never appreciate most of the things he says, but her deadpan default encouragements are the perfect foil for his gregarious tendencies.

One of my favorite Marshall-scenes is where Mary is dressed in that world-look-at-me-I’m-a-slut outfit that Sis concocted for her. The expression on Marshall's face, while he sitting in the SUV at eye-level with Mary’s prominently displayed assets and desperately trying to talk business and NOT LOOK, is hilarious.
My favorite Marshall-quote is also the (very popular, it seems) “out run a horse” comment

Because I don't have to bring it up, could someone explain that whole weird 'I've forgotten my lines and someone is feeding them to me' Marshall speech to me? I know he's always got that whole 'breathe and talk on exhale' thing going on, and normally I think it's endearing, but the whole scene in the car has always been very confusing for me. It's just so awkwardly spoken for
so long. The 'dun dun dun' moment is also a very nice one in my book, even though I really don't know how to spell it. What with the perfect inflection out of gravelly voice, and him all looking around for danger despite the sucking chest wound.

I just adore Marshall! I also love the "outrun a horse" line. He's so cute when he's saying it with his hair all messed up! Trojan Horst was definitely the best episode so far. Lots of great moments in that one. I just wish they had mentioned it a tad more in the next episode. I mean, they ended Horst with Marshall on the verge of death in the hospital and the next episode all anyone said about it was Mary making a comment about how he was standing upright and not dead with a matching sling (qoute went something like that).

I'm not sure, but I think the scene in question (the one in the car with Mary in her slut outfit) was meant to be read as 'pained'. Kind of like when he leaned over and rested his hands on his thighs during Mary's "Harry met Sally" moment in the Pilot. Apparently, an unexpected reaction to Mary acting or looking sexy is painful to Marshall
Dunno why - his pants aren't *that* tight.

Okay aside from all the others mentioned, I like when Bobby D comes back w/ the bad guy roped and on the horse and Marshall says something like "Why does he get a lasso?" LOL i loved that. If you want to see much more than you ever wanted of Fred Weller, go to his IMDB page, and check on naked pics under message board. I honestly can say that I didn't need that much information.
Also, I'm fascinated about what Marshall's family might be like. Five generations of marshals. I am picturing Dad as a bigwig in the Marshal service. I am imagining Marshall struggling with Dad's high expectations of him...And mom plays mediator...And there's a younger brother, also in the service, leapfrogging over Marshall. This is what I imagine with Marshall's family. I would love to see TPTB develop his backstory.

I am amazed that you all can pick just one of his lines as a favorite. I couldn't possibly pick just one and I love the fact that Marhsall isn't written as spineless for Mary to run roughshod over. I liked his take charge conversation in WSJA as he was getting off the elevator and even more so in last night's ep.
This is the first USA Network show I have been ga-ga over since La Femme Nikita ended. Now if only they will do a marathon with all the eps thus far so I can capture the two I didn't get but was able to watch at my friends and on the website.

I'm behind in my viewing due to vacation. I just watched the episode you're referencing and I agree completely. He is friggin edible no question about it. The whole bit about 'wood' had me laughing and the scene from the pilot I believe where Mary was pretending to have an orgasm and he just has to stand there and take it....Oh damn that cracks me up just thinking about it. I know nothing about Fred Weller up until this point but I love his timing as Mann and I think he is very well cast opposite Mary. I loved their conversation in "Trojan Horst" about being friends and all of the reasons why he should stay/leave the agency.

I really need to catch up on my viewing. I'm still stuck back and drooling over him in "Who Shot Jay Arnstein" How the hell does a man make a sling look sexy! I do love the fact that Marshall is more subtle but no less willful in his approach to any situation vs Mary's damn the torpedos philosophy. They are two equal sides of a coin in many respects.

I love, love, love Marshall! IMHO, the guy doesn't get enough screen time. It isn't just his wit (which is so incredibly clever), his brains (love the intellect!) or the dry delivery (makes everything even funnier)... it's the whole package.
The "outrun a horse" line was great! But so was his little speech about immoral decisions made under the threat of mortal peril. Something like "An immoral decision made under the threat of mortal peril is still immoral. Understandable, yes. Forgivable, perhaps. But still immoral." Great stuff!
I love the way he knows multiple languages, classical music, various bits of trivia... so much fun!
