So what do yall think is Jeff HOT? I really liked Raines, I am looking forward to it.

Never saw Jeff Goldblum in 'Raines', but he was brilliant in his performance such as The Fly, Independence Day and Jurassic Park 1 & 2. I'll be looking forward to his new role in LOCI.

He was great in Raines and had a distintive acting style. Can't wait to see how they write him into the show.

Not bad, not bad. I didn't think VDO was hot the first time I saw LOCI, and now......well ::THUD::
So Jeff just might grow on me, too.
I think he will be a good addition to the crew. I can understand Chris wanting to move onto other projects, I think he's afraid of being typecast as Mike Logan for the rest of his career. Jeff will add his own stamp to the crew--will be interesting to see how they write Mike out and Jeff in.

No. I don't think he is hot and I don't think he'd be good in a detective role. He does better in things like "The Fly" and being the witty, sarcastic supporting actor.
Donofriophile, I assume you never saw the NBC show "Raines." He carried the lead role with style.
JB was great in the FLY, ait scary! He was also in a movie with Christine Lahti, it was good, but can't remember the name, anyone know? I wouldn't consider him hot, but nice looking. I wouldn't want people to tell me I was not attractive, some things are better left unsaid, IMO. OOHH, The Big Chill, what a classic!
I dunno... he's a little too wierd for me to think of as hot. Sometimes he's downright creepy. But I'm intrigued to see what he'll do with this role and what they'll do with him.

In my view is very attractive, like VDO, he has not made the films that could have (too romantic comedy), yet there are interesting films: Invasion of the Body snatchers, Remember My Name, Nashville (usually in secondary roles) . Have one of the most sexy voices of cinema, and has worked with VDO (The player).

I wonder what kind of money JG will be pulling as compared to VDO and KE. He's new and they're old veterans, or do they all get the same amount since they're basically doing the same job? That sounds unfair.
I liked Jeff's voice of Aaron in 'Prince of Egypt' animation. Based from his prof, he's much older than Chris Noth and VDO. That makes him the big brother.

IMDb says he is 6' 4 1/2". So he is actually taller than VDO! Poor Ross!

Here's a link to an article that 'guesstimates' what JG will be making. Less than the 'guesstimates' of VDO & KE's salary last year when they didn't get the normal 'customary raises'. JG hasn't been in the show all those years and should have to work his way up, just like VDO & KE did and like the rest of us do in RL. JMO

Hotness is subjective but I put JG on my list. Great voice, great smile, smart, talented and a snappy dresser, what more could you want? As far as salary, if he's starting at $250,000, he's making $100,000 less than the CI old timers which is fair. As an established actor he should be in their ballpark.

I too say Welcome...looking forward to seeing how it takes the show...and how he works with "our favorite detectives"!
I would say not hot, but nice looking. And like others, I have been spoiled by VDO, the King of Hotness! But I think it will be very interesting to see how his character comes about, and how the leaving of Logan is worked out. Welcome Jeff!

On my personal scale of hotness, Vincent makes the top grade SO HIGH that no other actor stands much chance of scoring much over a 3. Vincent is sort of in a Hotness League of his own, really.

I was flicking through the tv channels late last night - after midnight - when Jeff Goldblum caught my attention, they were showing the last episode of Raines, I wish I'd noticed earlier I would have liked to have seen it all the way through, the little bit I did see he looked ok - tall - yes I like them tall but as my name suggests Vincent is my hearts delight

I didn't think VDO was all that hot UNTIL I saw him a few times as Goren. It was after that. Now, I see the charm & incredible sex appeal. Can't figure out why it wasn't evident before?
Anyway, if Goldblum's character is written quirky, intelligent & interesting, I bet he'll start looking pretty hot in short time. Both the character & the actor himself.

Well here's my take
Jeff has a vulnerable quality about him that makes you want to adopt him/take care of him...there's a really interesting documentary about him in which he tries to play the lead in 'The Music Man' called 'Pittsburgh' http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0419236/ that is just fascinating to watch...I happened to see part of it a few weeks ago on one of the movie channels and was riveted (and it's not just because I went to college at Carnegie Mellon which is in Pittsburgh or because I love that town, which is apparently Jeff's hometown).
Vincent is mesmerizing and masterful to watch. Not in a sexy to me way but in a way that I cannot stop watching him when he performs.
Chris is probably the closest actor to fitting my definition of physically 'hot' but I think what I like about Chris is his attitude...he doesn't take everything too seriously/

I dont know if anyone has ever read the A.L. Pendergast novels by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Childs, but I pretty much always pictured Goldblum as Pendergast.

Last Summer, an article about VDO, Erbe, and Noth holding out for a raise, the figure $350,000 per episode was mentioned. That indicated to me that all 3 actors were being paid the same; that the 4th detective wouldn't be paid the same is logical as that actor has/had little/no previous history with an L&O Franchise Series.
