I like Jeff Goldblum. To me he seems introspective, or has alot going on mentally speaking. I relate to that, as opposed to some actors who appear to be completely ruled by their emotions; if you're job is playing a detective, that could make it pretty difficult.

Is he hot? At my age, I dont' really care. Physically, I find his smile to be alot more attractive than Chris Noth's.

I hope Mr. Goldblum finds a home on LOCI. I also hope Mr. Noth is correct in banking on there being another "Sex" movie. Money could get tight if gas goes up to a predicted $7. a gallon.

Sorry, Goren has the market cornered on that. Maybe he thought he was replacing VDO.
The differences between Goren and Logan episodes is what made the episodes so appealing. I did enjoy Logan episodes. I think VDO episodes were better written, but it is the performance of VDO that makes them so great too.

I guess I can't make a judgement on JG yet because I haven't seen him in anything (that I remember). But, darn it all, I was just getting to like Logan. We used to watch Sex and the City all the time and I loved him there. With LOCI, Goren naturally is my favorite, but with all the bad writing for him (sorry if you disagree but I'm really losing interest in the route they are taking with Goren), I've come to appreciate Logan. And now he's leaving?

For some reason I am quite surprised you don't find Vincent particularly sexy, Vault. But I agree with you on the mesmeric quality of his acting. You have to remind yourself to blink now and then.

I loved Jeff G in a film he made thousands of years ago called "The Tall Guy", with Emma Thompson. Very very funny film, I recommend it.

Never as hot as VDO but hot, nontheless. I think he is going to be a good addition to the show. I know I am going to like him better than Chris Noth. Chris Noth was so busy trying to look hot he just turned me off. I'll have to say tho, I never see Jeff without thinking of The Fly. Maybe he will be so good he'll get that image out of my mind.

Mr. Big is out, and Mr. Goldblum is in. , a series spokeswoman said Thursday.

"Criminal Intent," part of the "Law & Order" franchise that includes the original series and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," recently was picked up for a 16-episode eighth season by USA Network.

"Jeff's presence will add a new dimension to an already successful show," series creator Dick Wolf said.

Noth's character, New York police Detective Mike Logan, was a member of the "Law & Order" family since the start, Wolf noted, adding, "We all wish him the best."

Noth played Logan on the original NBC. series from 1990 to '95, in a "Law & Order" TV movie and then on "Criminal Intent" starting in 2005. The show's seventh season airs Sundays on USA.

"When others couldn't get television shows produced in New York, Dick Wolf found a way to do it, and as a New Yorker I truly appreciate all that he has done for the city," Noth said in a statement Thursday.

"The last few years have been fantastic, and both sides are happy with the result. All's well that ends well," Noth said.

Goldblum recently starred in the short-lived NBC series "Raines" but is mostly known as a film actor with credits that include "Jurassic Park," "The Lost World," "Independence Day" and "The Fly."

He shared an Academy Award nomination in 2005 for the live-action short film "Little Surprises."

"Criminal Intent" originally aired on NBC. But when the network decided that last season's schedule had room for only two of the shows a deal was struck to air "Criminal Intent" first on USA, then on NBC.

NBC and USA are corporate cousins within NBC Universal, and "Criminal Intent" reruns on USA already had proved among its most popular programming.

"Criminal Intent," which looks at cases from both the perspective of police and lawbreakers, stars Vincent D'Onofrio, Kathryn Erbe and Eric Bogosian.

I do not see anything wrong if Jeff Goldblum joins loci. If Dick Wolf expects the loci fans to keep watching his show, he’d better encourage the writers to give Jeff’s a best personality of his character that will drive us loci fans wild.

To answer the question...YES. He's not a pretty boy by far (I really am not drawn to pretty anyway - see below for hotness). He's got charisma and he is comfortable in his skin, which makes him sexy to me. He has improved with age, but men usually do. I truly enjoyed him in "Raines", so I am hoping for a similar character.

As for VDO- there's no one like him. As they used to say in the 50s "He sends me"!

Oh come on VDO Vault, you must peek at the pictures that sometimes get posted on the Valentine Cat . Actually we really do keep it pretty clean here. That is a good thing.

I am trying to adjust to jeff Goldblum joining the show. Yesterday a couple of movies were on with Jeff and I started to do a Six Degrees of VDO and Jeff Goldblum game. Funny, my family members wouldn't participate.

Jurassic Park II was on. Vince Vaughn is in that. Of course he is in several VDO movies.
Jeff was in Independance Day with Will Smith. Will Smith was in Men in Black with VDO. I still sometimes can't believe that is him.
Judd Hirsch played Jeff's dad in Independance Day. He was a guest on an episode where a writer was a plagerizer. His father was the killer.

So I am becoming more accepting of Jeff joining the show.

Jeff Goldblum and VDO are both in 'The Player' but they don't have any scenes together. Jeff is playing himself and VDO plays David Kahane, the writer killed by Tim Robbins's studio executive.

Got this email from my friend who knows Jeff G (they're both active in the same theater group out in LA)

"I *just* spoke to him in person and read him your email [I told this friend to say congrats and welcome to CI to Jeff G from most of us here]. It made him really happy to know that people seem so excited to have him on the show!"

I happened to see this also... it was really great!!! Jeff was really nervous about his performance... and was soooo hyper!!! Everybody kept reassuring him that he'd be great.

As disappointed as I am that we are losing Logan, that is a done deal. So the question is, who to replace him? Jeff Goldblum is an amazing actor and I can't wait to see what kind of detective joins MCS next season.
