I'm not buying it. They signed a contract, so they'll be on at least another season. After that, who knows? Dick Wolf is smart, surely he knows how much Bobby means to the fans . . .

Well, it's no secret that showrunner Warren Leight has taken another job at HBO and is being replaced. That could be the changes. He could bring in some of his own crew in term of producers/directors. That's typical in a regime change.
However, good to know that you are on the case, dribblepuss. Keep us posted.

What DonnaJo said...it's no secret that CI is getting a new showrunner. Warren Leight will head up 'In Treatment' over at HBO. And as of yet, there's no decision on who the new showrunner will be.
As for potential CI cast changes there is no mention of them out there in the press or even in the gossip sites.
SVU however has a new district attorney
The Hollywood Reporter: Michaela McManus joins 'SVU'
Will be ADA after Diane Neal's departure
Michaela McManus has joined the cast of NBC's crime drama "Law & Order: SVU" as the new assistant district attorney.
Her character will succeed the previous ADAs on the show played by Stephanie March and, most recently, Diane Neal, who departed at the end of last season.
"I'm delighted that Michaela is joining the cast of SVU as its newest series regular," "Law & Order" chief Dick Wolf said. "We look forward to her working with Neal (Baer), Ted (Kotcheff) and me to create another interesting and memorable character in the Law & Order universe."
McManus, who recurred as Linsey Strauss on "One Tree Hill," is repped by UTA and Principal Entertainment.

I also read that Chris Noth was planning to leave the show in July, but I don't know how valid that rumor is. I'd hate to see him go, since I do love Logan, however, the show will survive. VDO isn't going anywhere, but Noth doesn't have the same investment into the show. As long as Bobby stays, I'm in it for the long haul.

Jeff Goldblum is know for playing slightly off-beat characters and CI already has that in Bobby (no offense intended). I hope they don't go with that angle. It would just be weird and take away from VDO's portrayal. That is why they needed a character like Logan on the show. It gave us another angle to view things from.

Then Goren wouldn't be so stigmatized as being different.

If the rumour is true as long as it isn't Vince or Kate I'm fine with Noth leaving, it always seemed to me that he was slumming by haveing to come back to a Dick wolf show. Wolf apparently fired him from the original series and now that he has a hit movie under his belt he is quoted as saying he's not sure he wants to extend his " obligation'' to the show past July. Do I smell the stench of an ego out of control, he should remember David Caruso and not burn any bridges. He obviously wasn't too busy to take the job when dick wolf asked him to do 11 shows so Vincent could rest and stay on the show, now with Sex and The City having been such a hit he's not sure he want's to stay, it was the women on that movie(not to mention the fashions) that created a hit, he shouldn't be so cocky one hit movie doe's not a career make. According to the reel it is Chris Noth that is leaving, which isn't surprising. He recently did an interview which to me sealed the deal. He said he had a love/hate relationship with L & O and Dick Wolf. Not the right thing to say when you are working for him so that basically told me that he was gone at the end of the year. I don't know that I like the idea of Jeff Goldblum taking his place, but we will see. I want to know if Vince/Kate are returning cause they are the characters that I like. I think that reading between the lines, Chris was tired of being away from his newborn. He and Tara have taken up residence in LA and he wants to do more projects and he said that when he films he is gone for two weeks and he doesn't like it. So no surprise. I guess the wheels are finally turning and now it is Wheeler who has the revolving partner door.

EXACTLY what I've been saying to all the Logan haters who say Logan is nothing like Goren. OF COURSE HE'S NOT!!!!! There is only one Goren and we would hate anyone trying to copy him. Every time I think if Jeff Goldblum, I can't help but wonder if he watches me poop...
I actually think that the whole thing with Noth and Wolf is that basically Chris was essentially fired off of the mothership, but the way that he found out was through the media (or something like that). Basically it was kind of a raw, crappy deal.
But the thing is, L&O was his first source of steady work. I would say that he is more well known as Mr. Big in this day and age, but he is still known for his role as Logan.
I think that Wolf knew that Noth's role as Big was well, big, and that's why he had him guest star not once, but twice while he was still on SATC, and I think that wolf was hoping that some of his success as Big would translate into, well, big ratings for CI.
Unfortunately, Logan is often seen as second rate by many of the people who tend to like CI (I actually loved to hate him when I started getting into the early seasons of the mothership) although I think that he has been mostly well recieved by those who like the mothership.
If he is leaving, I really think that it is a shame. I really like the Logan character, and I've always felt that he has been way under appreciated.
Maybe the next guy (or girl) will be treated better by the fans, since the whole dual line up thing will be less new. I have always thought that a lot of people didn't like him because that meant less Vince.
I think that Noth has always felt unwanted in the L&O scene since he was ousted back in '95. He hasn't been well recieved by the CI crowd, so why go where you're not wanted? Even on this board, a lot f people don't seem to want him around...

If Noth knows he is more famous for Mr. Big, and knows VDO is the headliner of LOCI, maybe he doesn't want to play second fiddle. He might think he's better than being in VDO's shadow. Not that I think Noth disrespects VDO in any way, but he has to think about his own career.

Here's another concept to consider.
Do you think they might dispense with the alternate episodes format and go with more of an ensemble cast that have Vincent and Katherine in most (but not all) episodes. Since the season has now been reduced from 22 to 16 episodes, I don't think this scenario is totally unreasonable. Right now the G/E episodes are down to only 8 per season, hardly enough to explore and develop the characters and certainly not enough to completely satisfy their fans (but we will take 8 if that is all we can get). Up to now VDO/KE have been doing 11 episodes. Is 5 more too much of a stretch if VDO/KE's workload per episode were reduced by additional cast members? There is already indication of a new recurring ADA. If I recall correctly, Chris Noth did an interview once where he indicated he didn't buy into the Sherlock Holmes type scenario of LOCI so he was kind of at odds with the concept behind the show and his Logan character would have been hard to integrate with Goren on a regular basis anyway. If Jeff Goldblum is more comfortable with the original concept and his character is developed to integrate with and compliment the Goren character, maybe this scenario is possible.
Or am I just grasping at straws because I really, really want a weekly Bobby fix!!!
