Hey all
I just received the 6th season of the dead zone which i have not seen yet and i just watched the first 2 episodes.
I thought Heritage was a good episode (mind you that i went on this board when season 6 first premired so i new that walt was going to die, so i was not shocked when i saw this episode) but all in all it was good.
Execpt when you first saw Walt dead body, i thought John was having another vision at that point and then i expected the story role into motion and find out that John could not save him. I think that was a bit rushed and confusing.
The other thing that i did not like is how John had multi visions of different senerous of Walt dieing. Like the car crash, the guy in custody shooting Walt and eventually the fire. I did not like this because (if i remember correctly) I read that there was some sicnificance with Walt dying in the fire. Its got to do with the whole Armeggeddon arc and Janus etc. So it was pretty stupid how john saw other ways of him dying and preventing them. Or i am talking a load of crap and there was no relevence of him dying in the fire.
Now on to Ego, i thought that was a alright episode, not that great but the one thing i liked with that episode though was the John/Sarah/JJ interactions. They were really good, just the dialogue and sort of the sad emotion you could here in their voices. That was great.
The new actor playing JJ as well is much better then the old one. I think John and JJ interaction and dialogue was much more orthnetic and warm then the old actor. I felt the old actor and Hall had a hard time speaking to one another. Like when you meet a person 4 the first time its kind of like arcward small talk. That was the same with Hall and old actor everytime they shared a scene 2gether.
But all in all this seasons so far is living up to what ever the 4th and 5th season was lacking.

Hi Bubba here, I miss the great discussions like these. I think season six was pretty good compare to others.

I loved season six, it's one of my fave seasons. It really held me on the edge of my seat all the way through.

Heritage was a very interesting season opener. When I first watched it, I really didn't know what to think. I thought it was a very good episode that definetly changed the dynamic of the show, and it really thrust the series into chaos (which at the time, may or may not have been a good thing). I didn't have a problem with most of the episode, but I had an issue with how the new writers treated Janus.
The last two seasons set up perfectly this amazingly creepy and worthy adversary to Johnny, a guy who is as mysterious as he is capable, always seemingly 5 steps ahead of Johnny. He was the one character that seemed capable of stopping Johnny from doing what he had to do. And then, all of sudden you can tell this is not the same Janus we knew from the past couple seasons. From the get go, he seemed to lose control of Purdy and Stillson despite the fact that when we left off in season 5, he had seemingly total control. I mean, I know the new writers wanted to change direction, but this didn't go down with me too well. It seemed out of place and inconsistent. If it were me, I would have had Janus fake his death and perhaps re-emerge at the end of the season, which would have provided a plausible way for the re-iontroduction of Armageddon and a great plot twist to cap the season. But hey, that's just me.
As for Walt dying, I thought it was an interesting move. It was gutsy and it provided a cool mystery for the audience to wonder about throughout the season (an opportunity wasted, I felt). But in the context of the episode itself, it worked out. It through a wrench in the way the show worked for years. And for the departure of Purdy and Bruce, it was sad to see, but again, it changed things up. I felt the 'Johnny being isolated' aspect could have been explored better throughout the course of the season. But the writers had the right idea.
Those are my thoughts on 'Heritage'.
'Ego' was the typical episode. A couple nice twists, furthered the Johnny/Sarah relationship, which I felt was rushed a bit too quickly, especially for a second episode in which Walt had just died.

I just watched Ego for the first time since it aired. That episode had great music in it! I hadn't noticed that the episode had 3 different songs that I know and love in it until I watched it the other day.
