I absolutely LOVE Mary. I like the fact that she is so confident in her own skin and with WHO she is. Yet, there is so much about her that is so kind and compassionate. Mary also has the ability of summing people up pretty well, but I think she's also keeps an open enough mind that she allows people to SURPRISE her every now and then.
Jinx and Brandi may be dysfunctional in a lot of ways, but again I LOVE Mary's loyalty to them. Despite HOW different she is from them.
What is your favorite Mary personality trait or Maryism?

Great question.
There are many things about Mary that I love.
She is smart as a whip, she thinks so fast on her feet,.
She is fiercely loyal to her Mom, beyond all the postering and all that she knows about her Mother she gave her the money to start her business. Mary does have to know the chances and trackrecord of her Mother did not warrant such an investment, yet she still gave her the money. That is loyalty and love and hope all in one.
I love the fact that she is real , explanation she saw the letter from the Security firm, all instincts told her to read it she needed to know what was in it. You would think her being a US Marshal they wouldn't do that, but no not Mary she just opens the letter like it was for her, and something I would have done....to me that is being real....not sugarcoated.
I love how she is a little pedantic sometimes writing her lists, but yet how often do we write ourselves little reminders or should write reminders so we don't forget things.
I love how she got everyone to accept the fact she is not a giver....good one...and they are being apologetic, make sure she gets the 5$, Mary likes it when she comes out ahead...cracked me up.
I love how she'll try to protect you at all costs, whether she likes you or not.
A professional, even so she'll give you her opinion of what a low life you have been....heh

I LOVED your whole list. You summed Mary up very well. I love Mary's list. Now, I may have missed it, but I didn't notice it in Episode 4. But, her lists have been in every other episode. Looking forward to seeing "Mary's List" again!

I really love her determined walk, like in TH when she got thier big bag of stuff outta the car and made Horst carry it, she had this meanass face on her and walked with such determination. Love it!

Booya! Doesn't she have a fantastic, confident strut, it's almost a swagger.

It does seem like a swagger...almost what John Wayne was known for...My favorite Maryism is her little smirky smile when she gets what she wants...like when she figured out that Horst was Lola...from a song and bullet holes...she is smart...some of her wonderful wit...makes me crack up every time!

Her abhorrence of all things girly. Which, by the way, is the exact opposite of Mom and Sis.

Is she really so different, really and truly? - Gosh knows, but a little part of my brain keeps poking me saying that it can prove their similarity, given some time and blank paper, so I want to remind myself to ponder it later.
I really like her outdated jargon. Like 'doofus.' Granted, it may be hip again, but last time I remember hearing it was back in grade school. She keeps what she wants out of life and pop culture, and I respect that.

Mary seems like a woman I'd hang out with in that she's the sort who probably doesn't like just "hanging out" but would want to do something that in no way involved a mani-pedi. It's her directness I appreciate; she's very clear in how she feels, and she really does care for the people in her life. That sincerity is rare in fiction and in real life.
I'd totally pick her for a drinking buddy!

Lmao, me too, she'd probs drink me (and everyone else) under the table though.
I watched the Pilot again and forgot how funny it is, something that really made me chuckle is the bathroom scene with her and the Indian fella, and her afterwards. "That is one special guy...God I hope he calls", so bloody funny. *applaudes*

She'd totally drink me under the table (if I was a drinker) LOL!

But, it would be GREAT to have a scene with Mary, Marshall and Stan having a NIGHT off/OUT and TOTALLY witnessing her drink those dudes under the table! I would LOVE it!

I loved last night's episode "Iris doesn't live here anymore" when she said her marriage with Uncle Phil didn't work out because he was on the "down low", funny. Also coming up with Phillip Morris was great.
