Looking back on episode one and I believe it was the closing scene. Brandi opened her "Hope Chest" and it was full of drugs. I keep telling myself I didn't imagine it, but it hasn't been brought up again.

That seems like something pretty major to just drop. Do you think it will be brought up again? It was such a shock and now we're going on Episode 5 and hasn't been brought up again.

Any thoughts?

I have been wondering about that too, especially after they tried to sell Mom's jewelry and found out its all fake. Lil Sissy knows she is sitting on a fortune, but I know she is waiting for her boyfriend to come, and I think it belongs to him.

I just know nothing good will come of it, not sure where they are going to go with it.

ITA! I can't imagine what Mary's reaction will be and we know she's bound to find out (Mary is so committed to the law). I have to say it should be interesting.

There will be tears, there will be threats, someone will fall in the pool, and I think Lil Sissy's boyfriend will go to jail again....it should be fun.

They seem to be saving it up for a cathartic moment. Right now it is an inert plot device - they indicated that she's keeping it safe until her boyfriend finishes setting up a deal, or whatever he needs to do before the goods can reenter the state. We only saw her use the once, and that was the only way we could see what was in the bag, so it seems she isn't a junkie. Which also says very nice things about her character - she's already a cleanish living girl in bad relationships and environments, shouldn't be too much of a leap to get her turned around.

Thanks for the spoiler! This is interesting. I can't wait to see how it plays out. IA .. IMHO Brandi appears to have a big heart and has just managed to make VERY bad decisions.

I'm really looking forward to see how it plays out. I have really grown to like Brandi - she is definitely flawed, but there is a vulnerability about her and I think the actress that is portraying her is doing a wonderful job.

It's funny how Mary and Brandi are such "polar opposites". It almost seems like Brandi is becoming more self-aware and the look on Brand's face when Jinx was giving away her fake jewelry - like she felt so sad about her mother's heartbreak Also, Brandi appears to be facing the reality that she doesn't want her life turning out like her mother.

I see Brandi as a supporting character with a lot potential for interesting character development.

I was just thinking I also think this S/L will DEFINITELY bring more depth to the character of Brandi and will have an opportunity for the actress that portrays her to DEMONSTRATE her range.

I have a feeling we'll get some TEARS and life altering decisions.

I think the reason they were selling moms jewerly was because mom needed to pay for the makeup the boyfriends dog ate. I don't think Brandi is into drugs big time at least I hope not. If she is the esp will be very interesting especially with Mary dealing with it.

I was thinking about her comment to Raff that she went for nursing but could "never pass the drug test." Clearly, she has/had some sort of problem, perhaps in the casual way that Jinx does. Her boyfriend is also clearly into something hinky, and it's not clear how much she knows, but I suspect it will come out she doesn't have the whole picture.
