Moderator, if this duplicates a post please remove. It's my first day here, I haven't even filled out my profile yet, and I just wanted to make my presence know before I voice my vociferousness all over this little board.
I'm medea42, aka "Di." I watch entirely too much television. I didn't love IPS at first, but it's grown on me. In a way, it reminds me of Joan of Arcadia - the pilot and the first ep just didn't grab me, but by ep 3 it became very watchable. Mary is what I call a ***t-kicker heroine, a genre that seems to be growing thanks to forerunners like Xena and Buffy that is now getting into more realistic fiction. I LOVE Mary - she's so anti-heroic, it's awesome. I've never seen a female antihero before.
I'm looking forward to getting to know other fans here and - given the high literacy rate of the posts - genuinely enjoying the conversation. I might even toss off a fanfic or two (shhhh.... my dirty little habit.)
So hello! Who are you?

Well howdy, Medea! Welcome to the Boards! I too am new to this particular thread: I'm a 4400 who wandered over here

I generally share your same opinion of the show: I watched the first episode, didn't care for it, but am slowly becoming a fan. We'll see. In the mean time, it's nice to meet you! Settle in, make yourself comfortable, and enjoy the show!
P.S.: I'll send you to whitness protection services myself if you get me hooked on any fanfiction. Seriously

Hi Bubba here, hello and welcome to the forum medea42. It's good to see you as well zippylittlerat.

As most folks know me here, I visit all the forums here because I like the shows USA airs. Just wish they would bring back The Dead Zone and The 4400. I'm also kind of a go to guy if there's a problem with admin is not reachable. I'm just a member not an admin though. I think IPS is a good show, I didn't like the pilot too much, but the other episodes are good. See you around.

Hi my name is MisB and I love tv. Now considering the recent gasprices I enjoy tv even more, so pshhhhhhhhhhh don't let the cable guy hear this, they just might crank up the old heat on the bill.
I have been enjoying USA network for a long time, just never really bothered to post, although I am what you call a lurker on all kinds of message boards. by the time I usually get the nerve up to write something, someone else has already said everything I wanted to say and more eloquent and in perfect English too. This all changed when someone angered me , don't recall who it was and ripped the show apart, after first viewing. So I just had to register to give them a piece of what's left of my mind.
It took me a view episodes to not want to smack Shawn from Psych, I loved the show but couldn't stand that actor, don't ask I really don't know what I was thinking, I love the little twerp now.
Can't wait for the next Burn Notice and while we are on the subject of shows I am missing on USA it is Nashville Star. This show used to be so good on this network, NBC has not impressed me at all with their format and how they are doing things, and it's not country anymore.
Ok where were we...ahh tv yes I love it, and I have opinions, lots and lots, and now that I have finally registered you will have to suffer through my musings whenever I feel like it....sounds kind of threatening....but it really isn't, cause I am just so easily pleased.

Hi! I'm USAFAN aka MJ! I actually joined USA quite a while ago and was just more of a lurker. However, my current LOVE for USA programs and characters has got me posting.
I'm loving IPS, so I'm particularly enthusiastic about this program. I also enjoy Psych and CI a lot.
I'm really enjoying getting caught up and reading the various posts. I notice a lot of very intelligent posters on all the boards.

Hi.
Welcome Medea42
This is only the second site I’ve posted on. I got kicked off the one previously for conduct unbecoming… I’ve been kicked out of better places so I’m not deterred. I’ve just had learned to do a better job of EDITING my posts.
Previously, I only had two shows that I mainlined—4400 and Heroes. 4400 was cancelled and Heroes was bushwhacked by the writer’s strike. While waiting for the folks at 4400 to come to their senses and for Heroes to return in September, I’ve become semi-addicted to “Eli Stone”, “Breaking Bad”, “Sarah Connors” and this show.
The tone of my posts tends to be toward the negative. I don’t know if that says something about my personality, or because (believe it or not) I actually get paid to figure out “what’s wrong” to “find fault”. My writing is sometimes a little cryptic—I’m also working on that little quirk.
I really enjoy the Posts here and find the commentaries, overall, insightful and interesting.
This was a great idea for a Thread. Welcome aboard. Wish you Good Posting!

Hello lovelies! Really, this is a delightful board, with amazing insights and analysis to counter the squee-filled irrational love that, undiluted, has sent me screaming from other places.
-> BadAssJammieSquad is an overlong name, I'll grant, but giggly tribute to Marshall, based from the second episode. He is a bad ass lawman, with prettyful jammies.

*coughs* Anyway:
Back when IPS was just commercials, without even an airing date, I made the decision to love it. Partially because I needed to get off my Power Play addiction- it wasn't going to good places, given it was cancelled 8-9 years ago and as it was Canadian, few have even heard of it. But mostly because I'm a student of pop culture (ironically, it is possible major in this, and it is my current major. You haven't lived until you've heard David Milch spend hours in a room of undergrads, telling nothing but drug stories... To, perhaps, the professor's quasi-horror.) and I'm taking a sabbatical to rediscover my love of tv/media after a stint as a linguistics major in houses without cable meant I stopped watching anything current, whatsoever.
So if I ever come across as a problematic dichotomy of over-analytical stuffy-stupid-scholar and squee-filled fangirl... It's because I am. I know it, I chose it, and I love you all for letting me be both because this show, I really believe, deserves and icites it. Knock on wood, it will be around for years to come.
Whee. On the whole I feel IPS has stepped up to every metaphoricla plate. Enough to love that it's easy to fangirl away, enough problems that it's easy to slip into a more critical frame of mind. It's challenging and current, from issues of serialism v episodicness, to the question of feminism in a digital world.

Well hullo there fellow IPSers!
Hello, my name is Amy and I am addicted to In Plain Sight. *people clap and she sits down* When I like a show I go all out and become a squeeling fangirl, usually because of some guy on said show *waves at Fred* Anyway, y'all know I love IPS or I wouldn't be here! So, other stuff I like, I loooove Shark/James Woods but CBS felt the need to piss off 10 and a half millions people by cancelling it last month, this turned me into an (more) angry and (more) bitter person

Yay for CBS! *throws brick at them* I used to love CSI but, um, no comment now...
I'm a big sports fan, oh, I'm British by the by so lets call it football! I like watching NBA and NFL when they get shown over here, which isn't that often

I laugh at stupid things, like if someone said 'tree' to me when I'm in *that* mood then I could laugh for days. I think they call it being insane, pfft, details.
I love doing random artwork and am working on my first IPS fanfiction. It'll get finished. Eventually.
Oh and I hate waiting for Monday to roll around. That's when I get IPS eps, it really is painful.

Hi, I'm lakme! I've been an IPS fan since Saturday, when I saw a rerun of the third episode. My mom and I watched that episode because one of my grandpa's caretakers recommended it to us, knowing that we're fans of the TV show Bones. She said that the relationship between the main character and her partner (who I now know to be Mary and Marshall, haha) in IPS was very similar to the one between Bones and her partner. And, of course, we loved it and were right in front of the TV for "Trojan Horst" on Sunday. I can't wait for the next episode!
I take the TV shows that I like very seriously. My favorite TV shows are The Office (US version), Pushing Daisies, Criminal Minds, Bones, Samantha Who, How I Met Your Mother, South Park, King of the Hill, and The Big Bang Theory. I'm very analytical, and usually a fangirl when it comes to relationships. I'm very focused on characters; if a show has great characters, I will usually love it.
IPS has great timing because there are so many bad shows on during the summer, and it's nice to have new episodes of something to which I can look forward. This is actually my first USA show, though I watched one episode of Starter Wife and I have two friends who love Burn Notice.

Hopefully you correctly guessed that my name is Sarah ; )

Anyways, nice to meet some other IPS lovers.
Have a great day guys,

I am lovethatmonk aka Tricia and yes I love Monk but have become a fan of IPS. I also have become a fan of Burn Notice. I come by here every few days to see what is new but spend most of my time on the Monk page. I was not a fan of the first episode but I gave it another chance and totally thrilled to see this program...is it Sunday yet? Anyway glad to meet everyone and see around the forums!

Hi everyone! My name is Rebecca and I've come to accept the fact that I can not control my addiction to In Plain Sight. I love the show!
The only reason I found out about the show is because I'm a Jason Wiles fan, who played Bosco on Third Watch. I read he was going to be a guest star on a new show on USA called In Plain Sight. I read a little about what the show was about and thought it was interesting. I really didn't know anything about the main actors. I missed the first show when it aired and the second, then one night I was was flippin through and realized it was on Sunday nights so
I turned it on USA. I only caught the last 30 minutes or so of the third episode and was half watching and half doing other things...(I'm ashamed of myself now.) Mary caught my attention first cause I thought she was funny and a don't-take-any-crap-from-anyone sorta person, then I realize the dude who was on Invisible Man was on the show too. I was like, this is looking good....then.......Mr. Marshall Mann (later searched and read about Frederick Weller) comes on the screen....hehehehehe......I thought to myself, I think I've found my new favorite summer show!
Thankfully, USA allows you to watch old episodes and I caught up on everything. I totally love the show, I think it's an interesting topic, I like Mary and if there was a real Marshall out there, I'd volunteer to be placed into Witness Protection....LOL!
After watching Trojan Horst....I became a lifelong fan!

Jul 3 2008, 02:55 PM
Hi everyone! I'm Ciaddict because, well, because I'm addicted to LOCI. I was really excited about IPS before it aired and excited to in on the "groundfloor" of a new forum. Then the night of the first episode I thought I must be the only person in America who watched it because the forum was DEAD that night. A couple of people showed up, but mostly I seemed to be all by my lonesome. But the place is hopping now!
I'm one of about 3 people (seems like it anyway) who actually liked the first episode. But each one since seems to just get better and better. I thought it was great that it would be following CI, but I am so busy reading and posting on the CI board after an episode that I'm afraid IPS does not get my full, undivided attention. But I am recording them so I can watch again. I am a TV addict. I have loved Law & Order since it began, I like SVU, but CI is the one I am currently obsess.....er....focused on above all others. BTW, Fred has been a guest star on CI twice now, and earlier this season he got dumped in the ocean by my favorite detective Bobby Goren. I love Psych (I find I must not eat or drink anything while watching or I have major clean-up to do), and more recently have come to appreciate Monk (and PLEASE don't compare him to Goren--different quirks, different pathologies, just different). Tony Shalhoub has made two movies with Vincent D'Onofrio (I'm just sayin'). I love Lost, Life, Eli Stone, The Closer, Saving Grace (yeah, I seem to have a crime thing going on here, don't I?). And many others that I watch but am not devasted if I miss.
I'm a 51 year old nurse from California, who has no life (just ask my 16 year old daughter, she'll tell you). I have recently acquired a new addiction to fanfic--both reading and writing. I've written 4 CI fanfics so far. Maybe I'll try my hand at IPS, but I will have to get to know them much better first, I think.
I haven't been on this board for a while and I've been trying to catch up on the posts. I can see that I need to bring my thinking cap with me when I come here. You people are REALLY smart and insightful. I don't care for negative posts that are directed at the actors personally or that simply go on and on about how much a person hates the show, the writers, the characters, the actors--see those little buttons on that remote? They will magically make this show go away if you hate it that much.
Passionate debate, on the other hand, is awesome! I don't mind differing views, but cheap shots at actors are just....well, cheap. I cringe when I see a thread started (as more than a few have been over on the CI board) that say "So and So Sux" "So and So? Are they freaking kidding me?" I used to expend a lot of energy trying to bump those threads off the front page (and then someone responds to it and sends it right back to the top). But Bubba has shown me the error of my ways. Hi Bubba! ::waves:: I am now in a 12-stop Bumper's Anonymous group and I'm getting better (but the tempation is always with me).
Oh, and in case you haven't noticed, sometimes I tend to ramble. So my feelings won't be hurt if you just scroll past all my rambling posts. Well, OK, my feelings would be hurt if I knew you did that--so don't tell me, OK?
Looking forward to lots more fun Sunday nights with CI and IPS.

Hi! My name is Amanda and I'm a huge "Invisible Man" fan. I started watching this show because Paul Ben-Victor is in it. He's so talented and a super nice guy.
I must say that this is one of the better shows that Paul has been in. And, of course, I was really excited when Vincent Ventresca guest starred in the second episode. Too bad there was no interaction between their characters!
Anyhoo, I'm an aspiring producer and that keeps me pretty busy, so I don't have a lot of time to post on message boards, but I'll try to pop in every once in a while.

Hi, My name is Michel and I am married 32yrs. to the same guy with 2 kids and 5 grandkids plus 4 dogs and 1 cat. I babysit and clean house for my cousins.
I saw the previews for In Plain Sight and I liked it. But like IPSFan5 I am a fan of Jason Wiles AKA BOSCO and when I heard that he was going to be in a esp. I had to see this show. The time is hard for me because I go to sleep at 9pm but stay up for In Plain Sight. The only other program I stayed up for was THIRD WATCH.
I have been playing the games for In Plain Sight and I am enjoying them awhole lot.
I am a shy person and at times I wouldn't talk on a board but I am trying to get better and talk more as you can see from IPS board. The only daily boards I go to faithfully or Third Watch and Enter Jason Wiles. I also go to Talk Sleep because I have Sleep Apnea.

I'm Closetfan, a name I use in Fanfic. I've liked USA Network for a while both new shows and reruns, although I'm bummed they canned Dead Zone.
I wasn't really too interested in Plain Sight until I saw one of the promos with Fred doing one of his smart mouth replies. He's why I watch it. Eye candy...yum.
But eye candy doesn't keep me, the show is actually quite good and I watch it because I like it.
