I'm sorry if I should be posting this elsewhere - I'm a newbie here, but I didn't really see a thread to post this under! I was more than halfway through an amazing fanfic by MaddyM called "Ropes" when the svufiction site went down two days ago. I'm DYING to read the rest to see how it ends, and was hoping that somebody new if it was posted elsewhere, or how to contact the fabulous MaddyM herself to try to get the rest of it!

I just found out the site was down myself. Hopefully it won't be down for long. Last year it was down for about 6 weeks!! However, seeing how the site was so recently updated I bet there expriencing some sort of technical difficulty and it will be up again soon. I've E-Mailed Maddy before, I'll see if I have her E-Mail saved. If you don't hear back from me I couldn't find it.
Ropes is a great story. I really don't think Maddy could write a bad one. When the site comes back up you should check out " What Happens in Vegas....". It's hysterical.

oh my gracious! i was just trying to get to that story! no joke and it said i was unable to! at first i thought it was being a jerkface for not letting me on there! im like what the!?! what did i do?! haha i LOVE that story! its my all time fave! i too think i have her email still. i'll ask her later to see what is up or where we can read it!

I'm so sorry! Ropes is really good and I was just reading it a few weeks ago. I wish I would have saved it -- especially now that the site is down. I think I've learned my lesson...always save the fics for later just in case! I hope someone helps you out soon.

yea i loved this story, although it was really long, it was really well written! agh i hope it comes back up so i can finish reading it.

And to answer your question LoriOZ, other than Ropes, I'm a big fan of all of MaddyM's fics because she really stays true to the characters. Since svufiction is down, I can't scroll through to jog my memory about other fics from other authors, but I believe there was one by a different author called Raspberry Vodka which I liked a lot. It had to do with an undercover op, (was EO centric, of course), and I always like the pretense of a good undercover op to shake things up a bit.

I think I read "Raspberry Vodka." Was Olivia undercover as a waitress at a seedy club...and Elliot was supposed to be a big oil man?

My personal faves:

"The Wedded Bliss Series" (my butt went numb from sitting in front of the computer so long reading that all in one weekend!) That's by Katrose.

"Rescue" by Jabyar. OMG....this one is so good...so painfully good. And it's not finished and hasn't been updated in a long, long time... and how it got left off, it's just killing me!!
"Crash" also by Jabyar, also not finished, also very good.

And then there's one that Maddy and another frequent fanfic writer...can't remember her name...but they colaborated on one together, and it was amazing!! The title escapes me...

And of course, "Ropes" is great!

"Ropes" is a very great story and MaddyM is an awesome writer. I can bet the site is probubly down for either a clarical error or they may be re-doing the site. I wouldn't worry too much. That site is really popular. I doubt it will be closed down.

Yup, that was Raspberry Vodka. And OMG I remember "Rescue" - it was SO GOOD. I hope it gets updated soon too! I try not to read fic until it's finished, because otherwise I just drive myself crazy. That one I started reading on accident and couldn't stop...and then realized it was a work in progress!! Is the co-authored one you're thinking about by Maddy and Marish-something? I can't remember the title either, but I remember it being really good!

Very true!! Anything writtenby MaddyM, Mayson1230(?), OO7, Jabyar( Rescue,my all time favorite, I'm so glad I have that saved), & Mousie 962 are ll great. Mousie & Maddy worked on one together called Proximity, awesome fic. Mousie wrote one called Hallelujah which is great. It has a Youtube vid to go with it and it's absolutely beautiful. I just joined SVUfans.net and a lot of these writers have some of their work posted there I found out in my short time navigating the site. I got sidetracked because I found a round robin story their called Vulnerable. It was amazing. Check it out:)

YES! "Proximity" is the one Maddy and Mousie co-authored.

"Shafted" is another one I've been waiting for an update on.

And another short one, by KatRose...I can't remember the name (a one word title, though.) Where Elliot and Olivia are killed, and the bodies are found together, hands touching, blood on their lips. Forensics had said that Elliot had crawled, bleeding out, to get to Olivia as she died.
OMG...the image of that had me in tears...
There's more to the story too...it's a really good read (and short if you don't have a lot of time to commit.)

Dang! I hope SVUfiction gets up and running soon...with no new episodes, fanfic was the only way to survive the summer. This is a bummer.

YAY!!!! Thank you to everybody who offered me such fabulous moral support! Also, I just finished reading another fic from svufans.net by jezyk called "Blank" which is definitely a new favorite. (The pretense is that Olivia suffers from a bout of amnesia after getting clocked by a perp...) I highly recommend it!!

Maddy said she might update Vegas tonight! Just wanted to share in case anyone else is on the edge of their seat waiting for her to give us the next chapter.

I hate you all! Okay not really. But I've never been into fanfic. And then you guys started talking about all these stories. So I started with Ropes by MaddyM. And sat and read the whole thing straight through the night. Finally finished at 6AM!?! Now I'm hooked. But as someone else said I guess its a good way to get through the summer of no SVU. But hopefully I can be a little less obsessed about it.

Thanks for the suggestion but at least for now I'm going to try and stay away from the unfinished ones. I would hate to be obsessed about those for months. Not that I ever obsess... I've been reading some of MaddyMs shorter stuff. Figure the obsession is less painful if I'm reading straight though stories that are shorter.
