LOL! That would be one way to get him on a submarine!
BfloGal
So from the cast it sounds like a military sub? (There are some non-military subs out there -- I heard that laugh.)

I wonder if Natalie will be aboard, and if so, how she'll get along with all those men in uniform...

I am laughing actually but not AT you, just at your comment. *snicker*

Could you imagine Natalie on board with those military men in uniform? Hubba, hubba.

Maybe it's got something to do with Mitch? Wasn't he in the Navy?

I think so. I think he was a Naval aviator.

It would be awesome if this were an episode that finally dealt with Mitch's backstory, but I'm drawing a blank at the connection between a pilot and a submarine.

Me, too (drawing a blank at the connection), but it's the Navy ...

Oooh, someone who served with him in the past? So I guess it's possible. If not, she should at least talk about him. It seems like something that would bring the subject up.
lovethatmonk
Sounds interesting...it could be a back story on Mitch...maybe he served on the submarine..training or something like that! I really have no idea how they are going to get Monk on board!
mjwannabe
Wait, wasn't Mitch a pilot? If he was a pilot he wouldn't have been in the Navy right? Now I'm going to have to research this.

A lot of naval aviators were stationed on aircraft carriers. They were technically Navy, since their 'landing strips' were on the water.
CrystalSmith
Now we just have to connect aircraft carriers to submarines. Hmmm.

When I first heard about the submarine episode, I thought that maybe there was a working submairne/theme park or something that Monk gets trapped on. The whole Mitch angle never occured to me.

Oh NO! Monk has gotten drafted! His worst fear (in Jury Duty) has come true! Will he take Natalie with him? Hmm. We all saw how she reacted to his security guard uniform in Bank, how would she react to this? LOL. How would they get Monk in a submarine? I like the 'The Monk' idea, he goes down as 'The Monk' but then the medicine wears off and he becomes Monk. Anyways, I can't wait for July!!!!

I have some ideas what might to happen
How about that in the harbour is docked a submarine. On its board is killed one of the crewman. Monk is called to investigate. After some time Monk with Natalie (maybe with the Captain and Randy too) on the board the submarine set sails and it sinks under the water. In other words the Monk gang is kidnapped by the killer. But who's the killer? The captain of the submarine? or maybe one of the other crewmembers?

Other idea is that the submarine is docked in the harbour the crewman is killed. Monk is called to investigate but the submarine can't stay docked in the harbour and Monk can't just leave the investigate in the half way...so he decides he and Natalie will be investigating undercover as a new crewmembers ...(that's possible I think) (Of course other crewmembers were out of the submarine so they didn't see Monk and Nat and they don't know who they're)

Are they a good ideas? I think that's possible to happen...we can expect from Monk almost everything...but one thing we can be for sure we're not going to see Monk inverstingating a case of people who sees UFO or Ghosts...(but seriously I would like to see this kind of case wink.gif)
monkfan45
Hmmm....Monk in a submarine, monk goes crazy within 5 minutes, and someone straps him in a room. Better not show him the engine room. But my idea is, an old friend of mitch is murdered on a submarine, and they investigate it, but something happens and the submarine sets out to sea
history08
This sounds like another GREAT episode!! I can't wait until July, and with all these new episodes it makes the wait even longer. I wonder how they will get Monk on a submarine. It is to "closed quarters" for me, I can only imagine what it will be like for Monk. Should be really exciting, and funny!

I had been actually thinking about the second one before you wrote it. wink.gif I like this conception, it may happen.

What about UFO and ghosts - I hate science-fiction movies, books and all things connected with that kind of stuff.
Axg
Sounds like a very intersting episode. Thanks for the info Alex

Being trapped in a submarine is totally a phobia of mine...but I don't see how that could happen to li'l old me.

Not even if Randy were in the submarine calling your name? wink.gif
CrystalSmith
Er...He'd have to do more than 'call my name." Two of my biggest phobias are drowning (and so being under water) and claustrophobia (submarines are enclosed AND they have very little space to move about in.) Okay. Randy and I would have to be in perpetual liplock to take my mind off of the submarine thing.

In Seattle, they have an underground tour that I've been invited to on several occasions and, no joke, I won't even consider it.

Really? You don't like science-fiction movie, books etc? Wow...I didn't know that...to be honest I like maybe a few science-fiction movies but any books...I most of like crime movies and books...and horrors of course...comedies and this kind of stuff....

What if evidence to a murder was at the bottom of San Francisco Bay? And they wanted Monk on the submarine to investigate?

That sounds smart as well.
mjwannabe
I like all of these ideas. When I was in Barbados a few years back my friends wanted me to go on the Atlantis submarine tour. I was like ummm NO, hell NO! No way would I get on a submarine. I get claustrophobic standing in an elevator for more than 3 seconds.
Gertrude
I hope no one minds me giving a little 411 on this eppy. smile.gif

from what I've read (script pages) this eppy. looks quite funny.

spoilers

Spoiler:
We have Lt. Steven Albright, he comes to Natalie's house, he used to be one of Mitch's oldest friends, they (Natalie & Steven) haven't seen each other since the memorial.
He's actually there to see Monk. A closed friend, Owen Kenney, (second in command) died the week before. They claimed he suicided, he'd been drinking... Albright doesn't buy it. they wore friends, Albright is the ship's medical officer, he (Kenney) had had a physical shortley before and he had no alcohol in his blood... Kenney and him had made plans to go to a game...
NCIS investigated, but ruled it a suicide.

He tells Monk, that they're only on port for a day. And asks him to go and look around, of couse Monk being Monk he doesn't want to, at the end, like always, he has to go.

Whilst there, the usual Monkisms, clue finding...
they hear an alarm, uh oh, it's a drill, they close the hatch, poor Monk can't find the exit, too late...
they're stuck in a drill, travelling underwater...

I hope I didn't give too much away.
CrystalSmith
Gertrude, thanky for the spoilers, but would you mind putting that in the spoiler box. It's a toggle at the top that says "insert special item" - so that it won't be a spoiler for anyone who doesn't want to know yet. biggrin.gif
alex455
Gertrude....Wow...thanks a lot. CrystalSmith is right you should put it on spoiler toggle...so those who doesn't want to know too much...won't....but anyway this is great information...
