This looks like it's going to be a little bit more of a humorous storyline. I look forward to it. Tonight's episode kind of drew me in a little more.

I really liked this episode it was a great one. Mary and the guest star (I forgot her name) had great chemestry and were so funny in their scenes together. My favorite was when Mary was at the bar with the stripper. I loved when she forgot his named and said, "Please don't tell me your name is Dick." This show keeps getting better and better. I can't wait for next week.

I like it when Marshall was learning how to mambo! It was even funnier when Stan was showing him and mamboing with him!

How about how Marshall couldn't even look at Mary for the way she was dress for the party! Or in the horse stables where Mary playing a part and kissed Marshall (and he kissed her!)

"Hey, I'm a guy!" lol Can't wait for next week for David Foley guest stars and Marshall takes a bullet in the desert!

I'm in complete agreement with BigKitty. So awesome! Despite my M&M shippy heart, the Stan/Marshall mambo scene was my favourite. Not only earnestly played and so, so funny, but Mary's reaction was the perfect horrified counterpoint. Me thinks the show is finding it's groove.
But finally, evidence for the Marshall/Mary ship! I was beginning to think, despite the "Marshall loves her" commentary, that it was going to have to be fanon created. And it looks like next week we'll get a little material for reciprocacity eh? I even stayed up to 1 am to watch it again.
Also, I don't think anyone's mentioned it yet, but how about that proposal scene? My reaction so far to Raphael has been a bit 'meh' but Christian played it with all the humour of the script but with a sincerity and lack of embarrassment that usually has me grimacing my way through those things. And with the indication that they're going to show us a deeper side of 'Squish' - I may even be jumping on board for those two.

Aww man I was laughing my as* off lastnight!
It was good.
Yet I can't help but wonder why Mary freaked?
I'm glad still, love the stables seen hehe...
And I guess people really do change.
Oh and that dress! Wow yikes!

I loved this episode! And all the scenes you guys mentioned just had me laughing so hard! And those dresses she wore--"the girls" were certainly on display last night! I'm holding off jumping onboard the M/M ship for now. In general I don't like for law enforcement partners (or even just within the same department) to ship. But I'll wait and see what the writers have in store.

I laughed a lot during this episode...I couldn't believe those dresses...and this is from a wealthy family? The look of horror on Mary's face when they were doing the Mambo..totally priceless! I was surprised at the fact that the con artist found something after 6 months...would make me suspicious too! The outfit that her sister helped her with...I didn't dress like that for a bachelorette party..totally tasteless! But I did love Marshal's response to her attire. But like I am reserving judgement on the relationship that Mary is having with her lover...it looked like a proposal that was thought out but poorly executed...that's my 2 cents worth.

I loved this episode! My favorite part was when Treena Morris the con artist told Mary " That she was dangerously close to being kicked out of the wedding party." ...lol...

“Mary in a dress, PRICELESS!” I just knew she was going to demolish it. It’s like dressing a child, who is into everything, too early for church—There is bound to be a magic marker somewhere within reach.
The episode, overall, was very light and the “doer-of-dastardly-deeds” extremely likeable. That’s not a bad thing. A crook ripping off crooks, as long as no innocents get hurt, doesn’t exactly produce an outcry for justice.
I think Mary’s turned down Gorgeous-Sexy-Loving’s marriage proposal because she has yet to work through her Crazy-Mom-Missing-Daddy’s-disastrous-marriage phobia. We’ve gotten a few hints about this part of her past, so I’m guessing we’ll get more details as the series progresses.
Must say that I loved rich-mom-in-law-to-be with her street-smart attitude and trashy vocabulary. Always admire the writer when they throw in a “not what you were expecting, huh”.
My favorite comment of the night was the one Marshall made (sorry I don’t have the quote with me) about not being able to outrun a horse.

I enjoyed this episode very much. I actually felt quite bad for Rapheal. It seems obvious that he's been thinking along more serious lines than Mary has for a very long time. Imminent separation gave him the push he needed and apparently long term committment scares the hell out of Mary. Not surprising given dear ole mom's track record.
Stan teaching Marshall to Mambo and later watching Marshall trying not to stare down Mary's dress were easily two of the funniest bits. I'm not actively shipping anyone in this series right now but I do love the rapport between Mary/Marshall. I think the two actors are well matched and bring alot of energy to their roles. I thought Stan was better written as well. A good blend of comic relief with some plausibility thrown in. I didn't miss momma Jinx and the sister was just eye candy for the fellows. I'm not really interested in either of them but I do think they give the Mary character more angles to explore. You can understand why she's such a wreck when you see the two of them.

In some way i guess he deserved it! It's your GF bithday and you're gonna say we had sex already so I don't have to spend the rest of the evening with you! That was insensitive! Mary's job is hiding people and I guess she's hidden herself so she can't even find her self.
I can't wait for sunday!

I don’t think that Raphael was being insensitive about not going to the party. He was trying to get Mary to commit. I think it was his way of trying to get Mary to admit to herself that he IS important to her. After all a person with her tough skin and ‘tude isn’t sitting in a car crying because someone doesn’t come to a party—that she, by the way, doesn’t even want to have or attend. She is crying because whatever emotional demons she is repressing will not let her make herself vulnerable by lifting their relationship out of the superficial state she is so desperate to maintain.
Asking him to come to the party, that is admitting she wants to be with him vertically and dressed, equals do admitting that her feelings for him go deeper than just sex partner.

I deeply believe that Raph didn't want to go to the party because he's madly in love with Marshall.
I think he just didn't want to go. I doubt he knows any of the guests. None of them would know he's her boyfriend. He just met her sister and she was a bitch. Mary's not the type to mingle so he wouldn't be accompanying her around (being introduced to people...). The only situation in which the party wouldn't completely suck for him would be if they snuck off to her room, but they'd done their thing for the day, as he noted.
Hmm, intriquing thought as I reread JaredD's post: perhaps the afterlude of this conversation is the moment he decides he's committed to the relationship? To push the logic train farther - how did the note get there? Perchance he changed his mind about the party and stopped by, except she, of course, was out? Which would be wild, given the parallel with Mary missing his flight in the last episode.

Puttering around icon-ville I was reminded of a gripe/confusion with this episode.
Lipstick is not super easy to get off your face. And yet, in the scene where they reslease the groom-to-be from the car trunk, Marshall is miraculously lipstick-free and hair-in-place. He seriously took the time to make himself pristine before saving the innocent?
