Could we have a chat room? Please?

If every other chat room I've ever been in is any indication, it is extremely difficult to keep the cam/porn bots out of them. I gave up on chat rooms three years ago because of that.

If they'd be able to keep them out, I'd love to see a chat room on this site. It's a good suggestion, if they can bot-proof it.

I don't see any reason people couldn't all Yahoo from time to time--instant message in the same window. You have the whole chat experience but you're in your own bubble. Not a bunch of windows--you "invite" everyone into the same window and chat away. That would solve the bot thing too--it's a private window and not on the radar for all the other chat rooms. Whoever opens the first window invites who they want to invite so you could make sure it's only fellow Monk-ees in there. I did this years ago when I organized an online critique group. We carried on for two years that way.
