There have been many thread about what brought us to this message board, have we become like him, etc. but what about us and the Board itself? Who is in control? Is additiion possible and if so how is it manifested?.

Do you mean, we have an addiction to this message forum instead of additiion? unsure.gif I spend time here because of good friends and the great conservations. You guys make me smile. smile.gif

I probably am addicted to the board...but not as bad as it looks....really.

My daughter just started college this year (yes, she started at 16) leaving me home alone during the day for the first time in years. (We homeschooled, so this was quite a change for both of us.)

I've discovered that by keeping the television on (even if I'm not watching it) and checking in regularly to the board between household tasks, I feel more connected. But I admit, it does give the impression that I'm on here all the time.

I was thinking about getting out more -- maybe joining a writer's group and a gym. But with the price of gas -- and our rural location being somewhat distant from any of these, I just haven't done it yet.

So I hang out here.

I would say I started here because I love Monk and wanted to talk with other Monk fans. I got started late...around season 5 so I wanted to join in the discussions about what makes Monk Monk. I got addicted to the show quickly and loved to converse every so often with other fans. I appreciate the heads up on Monk a thons and other events that involve the cast and now the Monk books. I do love everyone on the forum with their witty insights and lovely comments that can make a sad day look a lot brighter! Thanks everyone! smile.gif

I got started in the Monk Forums because I LOVE MONK!! I wanted to be able to talk about Monk to people who had the same passion for the show as I do. I became addicted to the show rather quickly, it only took one episode and I was hooked. I won't say it was my favorite show right off, but I wanted to see more and more of the show. Very soon after I began to watch the show, I found myself addicted. I found myself needing the patch, gum or anything else to ease the addiction. I was on USA one day and found the forum. It was hard for me when I first signed up, because it was during the school year (I am a teacher), and I found myself wanting to get on during the school day. I would get on the forum before school and right after. I love it here and glad that I found it! I love you guys!!It is so easy to bounce ideas about the show off everyone on the forum. I truly do love and enjoy everyone on the forum and love every minute I get to spend on here.
