I don't know about the rest of you, but I found the sound levels in this first episode very annoying. First, there needs to be a lot more compression across the board. The level of the music is twice as loud as the dialogue which is extremely annoying, making it very difficult to understand what is going on without constantly fiddling with the volume control.

Second, someone doesn't know how to use an equalizer in production. The high end boost of the spectrum makes every sibilant hiss which is really distracting to the action. Quite unnatural to say the least.

The above occured on the HD USA channel on DirectTV.

Overall, I find the series quite interesting, but the rather amateurish sound production does not allow one to become absorbed by the plot and characters.

I am aware that this same technique is used in the cinemas where the sound level of effects and music are extremely high while dialogue is very low. The explanation of the experts is that 'no one listens to the dialogue anyways' , so what's the big beef? Well, guess what? No dialogue, no story...doh!

Just my 2 centavos worth and hope that the sound editor gets his act together quickly.

Regards!

Well i have it on Cable and it was just fine to me, nothing stood out as far as sound goes.

Maybe it was your TV cause my old LCD TV used to act up on certain channels.

I didn't notice anything off, but I'm no audiophile and probably wouldn't know the difference.
