QUOTE (bammi @ Jun 17 2008, 02:09 AM) *
Actually, I have suffered from clinical depression for years, and I never lost interest in everything. A lot of things yes, but not everything. I have found that having that interest in something is the very thing that gets you through it. Maybe the fact that Bobby wanted his job back so bad is what has saved him, given him something to focus on in the middle of the night. Just a thought.

That is a good point...I think I can understand that because i lost my gram last fall and if not for LOCI...I'm not sure how I would have been. I felt like I was off the deep end a few times, its a scary place to be.

I am SO with you on that!! I like longish hair, and I have to say I was so jealous of Greta when she ran her fingers through Vincent's long curls on that beach in Desire. I wanted to do it!!

Oh heck yah!

LMAO you guys make me laugh when you talk about wardrobe. I like that we're noticing some of the same clothing. Same quote on Eames from season 4? its been three years! I'm sure you've worn a coat more than once in three years. Same with Bobby and his work clothes. It makes more sense - makes the characeters more believable

At least thats my opinion.

I agree with that totally. It not like real people have an unlimited supply of clothing...so why should cops or detective on a limited budget have them? It makes it more realistci to me.

I totally - I mean TOTALLY - mis-read what you had written. I thought it said "shippy", not "snippy" rolleyes.gif

I'm surprised no one has started a "Party! The Tie-Clip Has Died!" thread. People are so focussed on the poor BEARD.

Hahaha, funny Lozzie! I like the ite clips...does that mean I am weird blink.gif ???

I don't know how many of you have seen the Canadian commercial (I'm guessing not many) so I'm going to type the whole thing out for you. For those who have not seen one of my typed commercials before, let me recap: *-means visual "-means audio. anything in italics is scene change of some kind.

(This is not the commercial but the teaser for the commercial, just don't ask why we have one)
announcer: "Stay tuned for Scenes from the next Law and Order Criminal Intent"
*blond/gray haired man rolls his eyes, Eames Laughs at him (they are alone in interogation room) cuts to Eames standing, man throws table aside. Black*

Commercial

Kathy (Ross' 'friend') :"I can't find my husband"
*Ross in a suite staring up at a stage, Kathy on stage*

Announcer: "Two young lovers"
*Two people kissing, cut to, same girl running down hall*

Announcer: "Leave their spouses"
*Kathy falls into chair, Ross catches her, they are at what looks like a NYPD banquet*

Ross: "Kathy's a friend of NYPD and mine"
*Close up of Ross*

Announcer: "It was supossed to be an open and shut case"
*Goren and Eames searching car, Goren finds something (maybe a hair) on the seat*

And HelloBobby, I get what you're saying about NY---being from NE PA, I swear in PA if you're not from Philly, Pitt, or Harrisburg, you're treated like you're from the Hee Haw Cornfield. wassupwithat?

TN is the same way, there's three major cites in each section and the rest of nada!

When I first saw that preview, the way Ross' body is positioned, I thought he was telling Eames that she was out of line. Maybe the preview is lying and it is spliced together. I thought another comments from Ross was aimed at Eames too, but I will have to watch again.

If Ross says to G/E at the beginning, "I trust everything is OK" and they nod, and that is it, I will not be happy.

About PA, my father was from Hop Bottom, PA. Hops grow in the bottom of the creeks there. That is a HeeHaw town. Scranton is getting a better reputation though with The Office taking place there and the Yankees farm team there too. Except whenever we drive through Scranton, there is always construction. Dead stop, maddening, nobody doing actual work construction.

What the hell is Eames doing in there with a wife-beater without her partner? I know she can take care of herself, but why isn't Bobby there to protect her?

I can't wait to see how this plays out. Does he break into the room to slam that guy against the wall? Or is this part of the tension between them, that he lets her get hurt--But no, I don't believe he'd do that.

I finally recognize that one guy--He was the writer in "Self-Made." How do Bobby and Eames not recognize that they're surrounded by self-replicating humanistic robots? laugh.gif

Eames wants to be seen as a Cop, not as a woman, I am sure she wanted to be in there alone, and doesn't want men to be resueing her, I am sure she can take care of herself.

Eames is a big girl. She can take care of herself. She has been alone with bad guys many times before, even while pregnant. She knows Bobby has her back and would protect her. Plus Bobby doesn't need another reason for Eames to be mad at him.

Although I do love it when Bobby is being the white knight and saves the day. Especially as we have mantioned before, the episode with the former chess champion (Robert Carradine). Bobby is in the back of the room and a guy starts yelling really loud at Eames to distract Bobby. Bobby whips his leather notebook at the guys chest to get him away from Eames. One of the shippiest moments ever.
So HOT.

Also, Eric Roberts always plays a scum-bag sleeze ball.

Depends on the guy. My husband can grow just about that much in one day!! Gets to be a pain.....and I mean PAIN.......after awhile!!

Well, I just watched all the promos and now I CAN'T HARDLY WAIT TIL SUNDAY!!!!!! It looks like Eames and Goren are getting along, although they're not really talking to each other in these promos. QUESTIONS!!!!! QUESTIONS!!!!!!!

That's why I'm confused. It looks alot like the beard in Purgatory but he was clean shaven at the end. Do you supposed that they filmed the ending to Purgatory after they had shot some or all of Betrayed? Maybe they decided after the fact to let us see Bobby get his badge back, and figured it didn't matter if he was clean shaven then and bearded in the next epi?

They had this ep "in the can" before the writer's strike.

And it's so brutal, having to wait two weeks at a time to see another new Bobby-ep, but we're almost there....

Wow, for a moment I thought Ross was on a date with the woman in the red dress, until I noticed the Police Academy signed. Now I think they are attending the same Police function.
No dates for Ross, unless they are with Rodgers.

OH MY GAWD!!!!!! I am so sorry!! Well, you won't hear me complain about it being hard to wait til tomorrow night again. Let me ask you this; do you read all the chatter here about the episode after it's been on or do you prefer to sit out the three months? I don't think I could stand it.....I'd have to get in here and check things out.

Personally I do enjoy reading all the chatter about the upcomming shows this way I can at least imagine what it will be like until it airs.

although...

I'm really loveing USA and NBC right now...they aired Pergatory about 2 hours ago on NBC biggrin.gif

I hope this means that I only have to wait 2 weeks to see Betrayed *crosses fingers*
bammi
I think the reason Bobby has his beard back is just because he wanted to grow it back. Not due to any out of order eps, just because he can. He was clean shaven when he got his badge back, for whatever reason, but then right after grew it back. I don't think Bobby has any problem doing that!
unsteady
If "Betrayed" was filmed before "Purgatory," it might not show any problems between Bobby and Eames. It would be good to see the two of them just being themselves, if a bit wierd.

No. Purgatory was filmed from april 8th to 17th, and Betrayed april 30th to May 9. "Please Note" is the one filmed before the strike wherein he's shaven.

I like the idea of us seeing Ross' blinded by personal concerns in dealing with a case. Perhaps he will have more empathy for Goren and understand better what drove him to go undercover at Tate's.

'Bout freaking time too. I'm getting a little tired of the Capt's 'Holier Than Thou' attitude toward Goren.
The Capt. needs to be taken down a peg. A Whole Peg!

Do you think the betrayal indicated is . . . Eames somehow getting back at Bobby?

Honestly, I can't see that happening. Goren and Eames are both adults and very professional especially when it comes to their detective work. I can see G/E not addressing their 'personal' issues until later in the season, if at all. They both seem like the types who bury their emotions, which isn't healthy, but it allows them to always focus on their work first and foremost.
But who knows? This season seems to be going in different directions. IMHO I think the 'betrayal' is related to Capt. Ross somehow.

Thank you very much! What a cool promo. It really has me excited about tonight's episode. cool.gif

Actually if Eames is being threatened by Eric Roberts, it's a good opportunity for Goren to remind Eames that he, too, always has her back. I'd like to see him sort of burst in & yell at Roberts to sit down, pushing him back in his chair while doing it. wink.gif

I don't think so. I think Ross is a good captain who does look out for his detectives, I also think that he's "old school"--that Goren's unorthodox methods are not something he always understands, and that his breaking the rules is something Ross really dislikes. He may feel too that Goren's disregard for the regs undermined his authority. I think Ross is starting to understand Bobby's way of working and is giving him more slack, and more credit. Hey, he could have let Eames go after Bobby at Tate's by herself, or even order her to stay out of it and just called the prison on the phone--but no, he went with her, made sure his detective was allright.

I think Ross is right at the peg he's supposed to be at. Bobby is, after all, an acquired taste. Ross is starting to make the acquisition.

I agree! I am a HUGE Ross fan. I've enjoyed watching him evolve since the beginning of season 6. I thought that the tension and disagreements in the beginning were so realistic (for anyone who has had a new superviser come on after a beloved supervisor left). And I thought he was tried to protect Goren in Endgame (although our Bobby wasn't having it!) and that he was truly a stand-up guy in Untethered, and again in Purgatory. Go Danny! I had these delivered to Danny on the party thread, but thought I would have them delivered here as well in preparation for tonight's episode.

ebsinger7
IMHO I think the betrayal is between Capt. Ross and his ex. I think that the main reason Eames is mad at Bobby is because she was 1/4" from killing him (1/4" = the distance the trigger would have to move in order for the gun to be fired). I think it will take time for her to get over that but I don't think that she truely feels betrayed by Bobby.

Just a thought cool.gif

I too think Ross gets it. He didn't in Blindspot, but I think seeing how dedicated Goren was to his partner, and the fact he was right about Joe, also even though Bobby and him disagreed during season 6, in TWAH Ross is sympathetic to Goren. He's a good guy, who has a image he has to live up too, and is under tons of pressure. But I also think he looks out for his detectives, he did in endgame, in untethered in purgatory. He's looked out for Eames in Amends, and in Albatross. He's a good guy, and he's just doing his job.

Which is why this whole "Why isn't Goren protecting Eames" thing is weird. Because neither Goren OR Ross would of let her go in their to get hurt, they know she's tough, and it's probably part of the plan to get this guy to fess up, if he is a wife beater, then having a women in a position of power and more in control then him, would make in angry, and when she starts talking down to him that would make him madder, I think that is the plan, and they are all prepared for it.

I'm much more of a Bobby fan than a Ross fan, just trying to be fair to Ross. As much as we love Bobby, he has to be a captain's headache.

Actually hullbound I just wanted to say I LOVE YOUR SIGNATURE PICTURE! lol! "sometimes I work with batman" I actually laughed out loud (and got weird looks from my brothers friends who are partying over here) when I saw it!

I agree with everything you said. I don't think Ross is used to dealing with all the drama that the detectives have. And he seems to be more of a grounded Captain (like the comment he made about Deakins letting Declan run all over the place.) He is kind of like a dad, he discliplines his "children" but can also be sympatheic.

From earlier episodes, you can see that Goren is an agressive man, and whenever Eames was in danger of getting hit or something he would try to stop the guy. I don't think we've seen enough of the ad to see what is really going on. It would be wrong to step into the room just for the guy standing up, but if he started to attack, of course, police officers would go on or something.

When? Goren is only aggressive when he's desperate and distraught. We've never seen him get physically violent with suspects. The only time we've seen him violent is when the women in his life, that is, Eames and his mother, have been threatened.

Well that's what I meant. He is patient and calm throughout the series, but when he gets angry, it triggers a response. He lets anger take over his feelings, and when he doesn't know what to do with angry feelings, he can become violent (like in Gone, The War At Home, Blind Spot, Endgame.) That's what I meant about him being agressive.

FINALLY!!!! Wouldn't ya just know......my puter decides to give me grief today and has just finally come on. Well, from what I buzzed through it looks like you're all in a deep discussion about tonight's episode, so I doubt I could add much to it right now. After it's over I'm sure the spoilers will be flying!!

Spoiler:
I hated the pixel things in the beginning. Really grr-inducing for me. But then, I hate change.

She's still mad as a hornet, but at least they're working on it. "You're right."--Aww, he is trying.

I think Alex is still pissed. She is acting more uptight than usual. But, this seems to be a good storyline so far. Just my humble opinion. I hope Ross doesn't get hurt.

I'm liking it. The tension between Goren and Eames seems right to me. Distant, but working the case. But, Bobby, Bobby, Bobby....."You're right, Eames." Lame, Bobby, lame. laugh.gif

Spoiler:
Love the 'you're right'. Also, Eames is still mad, as expected, but Bobby is trying. And she seems to be slowly softening. Yay new episodes!

I think the way Alex is acting is fabulous! I would have joined her. I am curious to see this play out.
