I thought something about the Monk double rerun afternoon was...well, wrong over the last few days. And a quick reference check of the episode guide told me.

USA isn't running the show in proper order...

C'mon! Shows like Monk have a rhythm in their sequences. And showing 'em haphazard-like breaks that rhythm.

I hate when this happens.

They have done that a lot with shows like JAG here. I wish the would play them in sequence, it's kinda hard for new viewers to follow the story.

So they do it with other shows, eh. Monk is the only show I watch in rerun these days. Anyway, with tube shows these days stories relate more closely episode to episode to just haphazardly rerun them.

For a newcomer (or newbie, if you prefer) non-sequence reruns can lead to confusion, possible loss of interest.

A legitimate concern, but...

Every rerun of the series from episode one follows from Sharona to Natalie properly, but the episodes of each one gets screwed up.

In fact, after my first ever Monk, with Natalie wub.gif , my first with Sharona came in a weekend marathon where the episodes were coming from all over the place.

I leave the factions, Natalie/Sharona, to their own decisions, but to tune out simply because your favorite assistant isn't there... Sounds pretty petty to me.

No matter who assists him, even those times neither Sharona or Natalie were there, Monk is too good a show to pass up.

I'd rather see three episodes each day that don't feature episodes run the previous day, but I imagine anyone who can't see all three might appreciate that. I do like the way tnt and tbs and other channels will rerun a movie multiple times over a course of a few days--I have a DVR now but it's convenient for a lot of people when they do that. Personally, I usually need a "dead-of-night" air time to catch a movie. It used to be they'd show a movie once and if you couldn't catch it, it was months or even a year before they aired it again. I have about 30 episodes of Monk in my DVR right now so they're all reruns for me--It's a marathon every single weekend--there's just not another damn thing on. rofl.
