Jenny - Dead in a shoot out.
Dinozzo - Reassigned to the USS Ronald Reagan.
McGee - Reassigned to a different department.
David - Dir. Vance has discontinued the Mossad liason agent exchange program and Ziva is going home.
I'm in shock.

I agree, I am in shock. Was that the end of the season or the beginning??? My wife and I were shocked at the end. I don't want to lose them. Well if it ends up with a new cast then they better be good.

I feel angry and am in a bit of denial. One of the TOP rated shows on TV with a cast of characters that are as well drawn out by the writers to be fully dimensional human beings and not just shallow characters, and who are beloved by the viewing public and who have such a great onscreen chemistry can't really just be tossed away.
CAN THEY???
I miss them already.

It was a great season finale. Jenny's death was not surprising because of her story arc but the disbanding of the team was. Next season should be exciting. I'm looking forward to seeing the agents on their new assigments. The team will eventually be reunited but it's going to be interesting seeing them without each other. I also want to see the faux team Director Vance creates. The whole scenario reminds me of House this season. I'm also excited about the potential Gibbs-Vance steel cage match, LOL. Both men are pretty formidable.

They did something similar on JAG, too. Harm did his thing as a pilot, Bud had his shipboard assignment...not as wholesale as this, but similar.
I had quite enough problems adjusting to when they shot Kate, this is a lot to handle. It will be a very interesting match between Gibbs and Vance. I'm sure Abby will be a great help. I love her. I hope she gets lots more air time...and maybe it will resolve something about her and McGee.

Wow! My husband called the finale "a punch in the gut" and I have to agree! We can HOPE that the story was tailored to be a cliff-hanger and its intent was to get all of us in a dither waiting to see what would be up-coming next season. Gibbs won't take this lying down, that much we know! Poor Abbey will have a breakdown without her "family". Can't wait to see how this all plays out, but hard to imagine staying a fan of the show if the team is not intact by at least the end of the first month of new shows. The relationships between the characters made the show worth following. Writers, please don't let us down!

Hello All. I'm a n00b here but a seasoned NCIS viewer. I may not go into depth far enough with my memories of the show, but I'm here now. Maybe I can get better.
When Kate was killed off that was the last show of the season. It really pissed me off, I liked Sasha Alexander in the role.
I don't think the show will be as successful with new cast members, the chemistry that the current/former team had was developed over time. My fear is that they have destroyed a viable and entertaining show. I hated to see Lauren Holly killed off, that lady has always got my attention.
I'm a JAG fan as well. I tend to look at the show as an unprofessional technical expert. I spent 28 years in the Navy and pick on the irregularities in military protocol.
Let's all hope that the Gibbs character has a reaction to breaking up the team. I don't think the old team will be a big part of the show in their reassignments. The only thing I can think of is spin-off.
On JAG they never used real names of the ships, I was surprised that they used the USS Ronald Reagan as an assignment for Tony.

Any ideas on what was on the sheet that Vance shredded?
Did anyone see the tab label of the file he pulled?

I didn't see what the sheet said or the file label, Vance's sneaky behind was moving too fast. I don't think we have to worry about the core cast changing. A faux team will be assembled for Gibbs to ride out the story arc. If there were going to be drastic cast changes those gossipy entertainment shows would be all over it.

I just found this site. I am shocked myself at the events. I wonder why they didn't show Jenny's body in the morgue and the fact that the body bag was mislabled? Could she possibly make a come back?

I thought the same thing when I watched the finale first CSI who started that then House now NCIS. I hope they bring them all back if not the new actors better be just as good. What a finale though we're still talking about it so that is the proof it was awesome.

I have a filling it was the insurance policy that guy hid. I really think Vance is a double agent and is up to no good. Wouldn't that be something if Gibbs could prove it was because of Vance that the director was killed.

Wow... I saw this eppy now on youtube. I'm shocked. I can't belive that they make a new cast. What is NCIS without Dinozzo and the others? Gibbs can't work without them *lol* So I think and I hope that the "nex director" was kicked in his ass and the team works together again.
When does the nex season start? Maybe I can watch it then in the US :-)

Like semilogical, I was pretty upset when Kate was offed. I still am not happy with what happened with Kate and miss her wry, intelligent contribution to the show. I grew to like Ziva, however, and I liked the international/Mossad connection she brought to NCIS.
While on one hand, although never a big Jenny fan, I thought the "shootout at the OK Corral" was a classy way to go. However, the bombshell at the end overshadowed her "death" and I thought, was disrespectful of her and her contribution to the show. I understand she's starring in another show now, so her departure from NCIS is understandable.
I've read spoilers on another site that indicated certain people are leaving and their reasons for doing so. Don't know how reliable it is, but I wouldn't hold out hope that these beloved characters are returning.
Frankly, I'm very frustrated with the way the show is going. It was hard enough getting over the loss of Kate, and I don't know if I'm willing to deal with a House-like reinvention of the cast. Too bad, NCIS is a great show...or at least, it used to be.

Personally I think that the new team was appointed so that the new director can have more control. However I also think that during the season,we will see the past members(Tony,McGee,Ziva)come back 1 by 1
I just looked on wikipedia about the NCIS characters and I found that
"There have been some rumours that Tony and Ziva will become 'closer' in the upcoming Season 6 of the series."
