I know he was having issues with a very sick neighbor and he hasn't posted since the 15th. His last post didn't say anything about ducking out for a while. Anyone know anything?

No, and I wish I did.

Come back Mande -- we miss you. At least check in so we know you're okay.

I have his IM name and if I see him on IM anytime soon, I'll be sure to pass on the message that he's missed here.

Wow..another one missing? What's going on?

This board hasn't been right since Stanley died. It's a completely different board. Bubba's popped back in a couple times but doesn't post like he used to. I had to go have my own nervous breakdown and I'm posting again, kinda, but my nerves are shot. And Mandeville has a friend/neighbor who's seriously ill. It's a very different board, imo.
mbr77
Really? I'll be danged.

Could just be a fig newton of my imagination but that's certainly the impression I get.

Hi Bubba here, I did not know about his neighbor, hope to see him back very soon. He is missed here.

I hope Manny is ok also. He's a cool guy, really easy to talk to.

It may mean that Bob, his neighbor passed and he is dealing with everything. I am praying for you Damien.

Damien/Mandeville is fine. He's been busy lately. That's all. His internet is down for at least the weekend. But hopefully everything will be up and running monday.

I know he really appreciates you guys, and how much you've cared about him.

His friend closed on his house and was doing as well as can be expected but I don't think he's heard anymore since then. Please do keep Bob and Damien in your thoughts and prayers.

Hope that answers some questions.

Mandeville is a cool guy (and a really good writer too, you should read his sci-fi stuff) and I knew when he didn't answer my PM straight away that something was going on. You know, that thing called life.

Hey everyone, I just got my new router sent to me from Verison. It's been a really rough week. Bob is okay and they're still telling him he's going to pass any day, but just to spite them he's getting up every day and going about his life anyway.

The new neighbors are a very nice couple. Wayne is a towering african american - and I'm 6' 1" and he TOWERS over me. HIs wife, Alyssa, is a short little thing that doesnt measure up to my arm pit. And from the look he her she's at least part asian. But very nice people with one daughter and another child on the way.

It's been a rough week an a lot of fronts. I had two days of missing last minute questions from e-bay buyers and lost some money of some real good items because I couldnt get online from home. And on an almost unrelated front, my bi-polar/manic downside reared it's ugly head and set in motion a series of events that ended smashing my heart in to millions of unrecognizable pieces.

Remember when the Science teacher used the liquid nitrogen in the classroom experiment on that episode of Monk where the woman fell from the clock hand. Yeah. Just substitute my heart and you're pretty well up to speed. Except after the freezing the heart went off the clock as well right on to the pavement and when it cooled, it all went to liquid which evaporated in the sun to leave a disturbing yet barely visable stain on the pavment that some jock parked over and leaked oil upon.

The moral is that you cant explain a medical condition like OCD, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, etc. They have to be experienced. And like so many things that qualify as secrets, if we mean them too or not, once someone knows them first hand, thier entire opinion of you can change in a heartbeat.

Truth is, it's been a long, hard month and I'm ready for a new season of Monk already Dang it!

Barring that, I'm just happy to be back online, as it's really the only semblence of normality I'm bound to come across any time soon.

Thanks for all the kind words. Trust me, no one else was doing any looking, so I really love you guys.

Big Hugs all around, and maybe a little harmless yet palyful pinching,

-M

Sorry its been so tough. I agree that this place can make you feel almost normal. I enjoy your sense of humor. Just don't pinch me because I jump and everyone laughs but me.

Mandeville!!!

Glad to see you back on and your post above reminds me why. You have a way of saying things and expressing yourself that is just singular in here.

Ever have one of those days where you wake up to find a letter from the girl who broke your heart and all it does is talk about the guy she spent yesterday kissing and how she'd have rather been with you?

One of those days where you relize that if she cant act on her own emotions when she's seperated by distance that you'd NEVER, EVER be able to trust her again?

Where she explains how she still wants you around, just not with so many strings attached, so that she can just lead you on and not feel bad about it later?

And wouldnt it be wonderful if all this came before your meds in the morning and you're left in the Bermuda Triangle of bi-polar compas shifts? Where you emotions are careening so far out of whack that you actually have to SIT DOWN for fear of walking in to something?

I say again - Where did all the GOOD PEOPLE GO?

Why is it so hard to find a decent, kind person who isnt looking to knife me in between vertebrae four and five, then twist with every last encounter?

What could I have possibly done in any past life to deserve not only this mantle of punishment that is Bi-Polar depression, but also to only attract only indifferent, aloof backstabbing 'players'?

More over - why am I so d#mn easy to fool?

I've given up Don Pardo, Just tell me now what I didn't win.

Hopping in with Michele to start the whole group hug thing.

Then maybe I could make you some waffles. Would you like some waffles? Somehow they always make me feel better.

Hey, M. Good to see you back.

Ok. We've got pancakes, hugs, coffee cakes... I'll bring over some Dove Dark Chocolate. (It's THE best when you're lonely. I didn't even realize that I hadn't had ANY physical contact, not even hand holding, w/ anyone for over a year. I didn't notice & didn't care since I was eating the chocolate.)

BTW, thanks for the VERY sweet PM you sent me. wink.gif

Sounds like a whole lot of head games to me. It's not my place to say anything bad about this girl and I don't know her, but it sounds like she knows how to get your emotions in a knot and maybe she's having a little too much fun doing exactly that. Been there, done that. I feel your pain.
