Sorry I have been so scarce here. I finally managed to get back on after many tries over many months...for some reason, the login script on this board hates me.

I have two extra, bound galleys for MR. MONK GOES TO GERMANY which I will be giving away at random.

Here's the deal...post a review of your favorite MONK novel on Amazon and send me a copy of it by June 1st at: lee AT Leegoldberg DOT com.

I will put the names into a hat and select two winners at random to receive a signed galley. Please be sure to include your snail mail address in the email. Winners will be announced on my blog -- http://leegoldberg.typepad.com.

MR. MONK GOES TO GERMANY comes out in hardcover the first week of July (the paperback of MR. MONK IN OUTER SPACE comes out in June).

I just turned in my seventh MONK novel, MR. MONK IS MISERABLE, and it will be out in November or December. And today I began writing the eighth book, MR. MONK AND THE DIRTY COP.

Too many good books to chose from! Hmmm.... I'll have to think about it!

What are the chances any of these books will become available in stores? I know Walmart doesn't carry them. I hate ordering stuff online or through the mail. Are they sold at Barnes and Noble? We have one that's a little bit of a drive but I'll make the trip if they have them.

Barnes and Noble does have them, at least mine does. I saw them there the other day, as a matter of fact.

I got my "Mr. Monk and the Two Assistants" at Borders, but they didn't carry as many. (I was going to hold out for the paper back, but I didn't quite make it.)

I got the first four books from Amazon. They actually had a deal where you get four for the price of three, and when I spent over $25, I also got free shipping, so that might actually be the most economical way.

There's also a pre-order discount in Mr. Monk Goes to Germany.

The MONK books are widely available nationwide at most bookstores...you can certainly find them at Barnes & Noble or Borders. And if your local, independent bookstore doesn't have them, you can order signed copies from Mysteries to Die For (mail AT mysteriestodiefor DOT com). There is no extra charge for the autograph rolleyes.gif

Sir, do you know when the softcover version of MR. MONK GOES TO GERMANY will become available?

Hardcover versions of your books are not stocked in major stores in Tokyo but have to be ordered - a process that can several months at least. Finally has any thought ever been given to adding Natalie's (Traylor's) picture to your covers? She plays such a major function in your books, I think it might be a nice gesture to acknowledge this with her likeness on the cover in the background somewhere.

Great website. Thank you for the tip. It must be amazing to live in LA and be able to go to all those book signings. biggrin.gif

FYI:
I got all of my Monk books (except the first one) from Mystery Guild Book Club. I've been a member of that club for several years, and the books are all very nicely printed, and do not cost much more than getting them from a bookstore...and less than online.
No, I do not own stock/percentages of the book club---I just love reading mysteries.
