QUOTE (OlWolf @ May 23 2008, 01:39 PM)

I realized overnight that USA wants to Hear about our Characters - and I wrote about our Friends.
I'll add that I used to watch 4400 and The Dead Zone - till they were ended. Those were very good series that ran for several seasons and ran their Storyline to an natural ending. I currently catch House and Bones wherever I can find them. You'd have me at USA longer if you took up Moonlight! Moonlight had just started and was rushed through a short life to it's execution earlier this month. It wasn't allowed to develop it's storyline, go off and answer the questions it raised, and then come back to travel it's natural life to it's proper ending. It was rushed to it's death.
This is sad - because we who've watched it from the beginning, learned the Characters as Persons, and how they related to each other, and each's personal issues with existence. If you get someone to run through the film, and excuse the mess-ups caused by multiple show-runners and the writers strike - they'll see some really Powerful scenes occur! Our Friends really poured in the Quality there, and almost every episode had at least one of them.
"The ReTurning of Mick" is one - where a man tearfully begs his best friend, who he looks upon as a brother, to take his Life - so he can save the woman he loves. It's obvious to us that Josef's humorous comments hide a deep-running affection for Mick, because he's close to tears as he caves to this request. Long-time watchers know there's a risk of failure here, and Mick could fail to revive - Josef would lose his friend and feel it was his fault. On the surface it looks like an oddball scene, but what it is - is a sacrifice of one's Self - of one's Life - for a person who's loved. That's as awesome to me as the Passion of Christ - or a Serviceman who throws himself on a grenade to save his Buddies. It's Life worth sacrificing for Love. That's always Strong and Noble.
"The Rooftop Dinner" was done with such strategic lighting that I had to re-run the scene to catch exactly what it was that was grabbing my subliminal senses. The shooters had rigged it so the buildings behind Mick had some yellow in the "office lights", and the one's behind Beth were white. Mick's "spotlight" was a cold color, and Beth's gave her a golden glow. What this Contrast did - cold over warm and warm over cold - was make Mick look more dead (because he's now a vampire again) opposite Beth's looking "glowing with life". When I realized what they'd done - my only reaction was "WOW! That's sooo Cool! So neat how they did that!" During the scene their positions are reversed as they kiss, and when they break away - she's "colder" cause she's frustrated with him, and he's "warmer" from the life he received through her kiss. I just flipped out!
The motion and expressions in this scene are catching, too. Mick 's reaction to each thing Beth says intensifies, till at the end, he looks like she's bludgeoned him - and she never touched him. The facial and body language is so feral and expressive! I've been an animal caregiver all my life - and for once it was easy to read a "human" - because a Vampire has a feral nature, and Alex O'Loughlin portrayed this so well! Even his move to catch Beth as she left - was almost feline in swiftness and motion, I was Awestruck! "Wow! I want to see that again!"
The intriguing nature of this Story is it's Play on Contrast. Light and Dark, Life and Death, Love and Rage, Old History and Present Day, Warmth and Cold, Natural Law and "Civilized" Life - even Mick's fireplace with the glass-chips over gas-jets was like Fire and Ice.
"Letting go of Mick" in 'Sonata' was so intense, most watchers were in tears as Beth tore her heart loose from her love for Mick and sent him away. Her total breakdown after she closed the door is a pain most of us feel only once every decade - where you sob so deep your chest hurts and feels hollow - and the pain goes down to the belly. Sophia Myles brought us Right There - feeling her pain. But Mick was also something that ripped the heart to watch. His standing and trying to listen to what she had to say, while his distress grew, his futile attempt to reason away her line of thought, and finally the reaction on his face as what she was saying sunk in. It was like someone had gently slid a blade into my chest. Then when he clipped heel and headed for the door - it was thrust in with full force. In the hallway, the stifled sobs and the determination to not give up without taking a stand, made is all feel what he was feeling "from in the skin". By the time Mick had argued his case and finally said he loved Beth out loud - I was in full-throat Howl!
Our Friends do such a Unique Quality of work for Television... I have absolutely NOTHING I can compare it to. When I watched TV-series before it was "Ok - the story's good..." - This one hauled me INTO the story like I was gaffed! I wasn't in my chair - I was IN THE STORY. Not just looking at the story.
Our Friends also made sure their audience had a good emotional-milking in each episode, because often they'd have us crying one minute - then laughing to hysterics with the next scene - then saying "Awwww!!!" with sweetness the next - then adrenaline-flushed with a Hunt or some other dramatic scene. The Roller-coaster they took us on with each episode was awesome! The "Letting go of Mick" scene was three of those rolled into one scene... I was breathless after! It was wonderful!
Then I cried like a baby! "How could they cancel this???"
This is NOT just another TV-show! It's so much more! It's Quality Theatre we can get at home! It's emotional release - and an hour's escape from the crap we deal with in Life - where our Friends loan us their skins to feel what they feel, and do what they do.... and not just sit outside looking in.
But there was MORE - so much more to tell in this Story. Many loose threads left dangling - questions left unanswered and paths not explored - that the cast and Crew of Moonlight should have had the chance to share with us.
We wish you'd find a Place for our Friends - our Characters - here at USA.
You perfectly expressed what we all are feeling. Great job!!

I am waiting and praying that USA is really thinking of picking up Moonlight. It is the best, most interesting show on TV right now. It would be a perfect fit, and it would come with lots of fans. I know all of those fans are going to miss it if we don't get a season 2. USA network would become number 1 with a lot of fans pretty quick if they air this show.

Olwolf, your descriptions of the show & the scenes are beautiful. I know how you felt watching "Sonata" - it was so wonderful, & then I cried because it was the last show. Yes, it has been an awesome roller coaster ride, & I want to get back on. I sure hope the line starts on USA!

Please USA pick Moonlight

. I don't know why CBS canceled Moonlight. Maybe it was because it had a huge fan base or that is had an amazing cast. I think it was because it was the best tv show ever. What ever the reason is I believe USA will give Moonlight a great home.

OlWolf, you rock. All the feelings you expressed went straight through me also. I cried buckets when Beth sent Mick away because I felt that was the way CBS was sending us away....with a stake through the heart and no one there to take it out. I was also feeling the pain of not ever seeing these characters I have invested in and come to love again. I haven't been the same since.
You see, USA, this is quality TV. We aren't just campaigning for a show, we're trying to get members of our family back into our homes and hearts. They're walking around in some lonely streets somewhere just waiting to be told that it is okay to come home. We need Mick, Beth, Josef and Coraline. I have never fallen in love with TV characters in my entire life until now. Never even asked a network to renew a show. For me to spend my time asking you to consider us is the genius of Moonlight and its writers. The writers and actors reeled us in on September 28, 2007 until we became addicted and now, May 23, 2008, there is absolutely no cure. There is no 12 step program that will help us. To survive we need our continued fix of romance, humor, angst, deep friendship, sacrifice, edgy drama, action, superb acting, exquisite film style, etc. See how I go on and on. Just wanted you to really understand what drives the passion of us devoted Moonlight fans. We're not crazy, bored or desperate, just smart to know a good thing when we see it. Good things get cherished, nourished, protected and supported. Much like the character Mick does with his beloved Beth.
With all of this said, I implore you again to consider adding these wandering characters to your wonderful network. I know you're wonderful because you have Monk, Psych and Burn Notice. Can hardly wait for their seasons to begin. Give them a new family member....Moonlight. It is well behaved, will bring you love, millions of new friends and big $$$$$. PLEASE HELP US!
Looking forward to hearing from you,

Dear USA,
I am a fan of House, Law and Order, and Monk. I love this network. Today it was announced that CBS is cancelling Moonlight. The devastated fans are looking for a home for Moonlight. I am petitioning/requesting/begging USA to buy Moonlight and give us a season 2. I believe Moonlight will benefit USA for the following reasons:
1) It is a People's Choice Award winning show that will lend more prestige to USA.
2) It has an 8 million viewer strong fan-base who will gladly follow the show to USA and promote loyalty to USA and its other shows.
3) It has a cult-like following that has no qualms about evangelizing the show and bringing in more word-of-mouth advertising for USA.
Thank you for listening to my heartfelt appeal.
Thanks so much for supporting us Moonlight fans! I too love the shows on USA network and think Moonlight would be a great addition to this network.

This is NOT just another TV-show! It's so much more! It's Quality Theatre we can get at home! It's emotional release - and an hour's escape from the crap we deal with in Life - where our Friends loan us their skins to feel what they feel, and do what they do.... and not just sit outside looking in.
But there was
MORE - so much more to tell in this Story. Many loose threads left dangling - questions left unanswered and paths not explored - that the cast and Crew of Moonlight should have had the chance to share with us.
We wish you'd find a Place for
our Friends -
our Characters - here at USA.
I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH EVERY WORD !!!!!!!! It left us with unanswered questions . And MANY MORE things to tell... Please USA SAVE MOONLIGHT and be the one to tell us the story for many seasons to come !!!!!!!!!!!!! MILLIONS OF US WILL FOLLOW MOONLIGHT ANYWHERE IT GOES !
Please don't let such a great show pass you by if you pick it up you will not regret it ... It's like a breathe of fresh air that was brought to tv and has touched all of our hearts..... SAVE OUR MOONLIGHT !

There are financial reasons why it would be advantageous for USA to pick up Moonlight. I would guess that no group of advertisers have ever received so many letters and e-mails from fans of a show telling them how they appreciated their support, purchased their products and will follow Moonlight wherever it goes. Those advertisers have been made well aware that moonlight is THE program to pay their money to. Not to mention all the friends of Moonlight fans who never watched the show and are now aware of it, watching u-tube promos, and downloading the episodes. We may have neglected to tell all our friends, especially the casual ones, when we took for granted that Moonlight would continue, but now we are letting everyone know and inviting them into the fight of the fans. The fan base for this show must have doubled, tripled, and more in the past ten days and it isn't even still here. Bring it back, USA and "they wil come".

Reasons to keep
1) It's a Unique show. Before Moonlight I didn't watch CBS at all. Now you have a regular viewer.

2) Story. The story is VERY well written.
3) Actors: The actors couldn't be more perfect for their roles.
Please keep the show on at least another season!

For the first time in my life I find myself really liking a show that may or may not come back to TV. I love many of the shows on USA and I hope that Moonlight becomes one of them. You and the show are the best. Thanks for even considering it!

Should USA pick up Moonlight? YES! A RESOUNDING YES! As I am sure that many of the other Moonlight fans have written, there are at least 7.5 million reasons to choose to pick up Moonlight. Please, USA, Save Our Show! You will gain a loyal fanbase that will be forever grateful that you give Mick, Josef and Beth another chance to amaze, titillate and enthrall viewers for another season!

I have to say I have never done this before in my life but this show, MOONLIGHT, and its cast, are WORTH all the effort. I would move to USA to watch MOONLIGHT. I already watch a lot of shows on USA. It seems that every time I find a really good show, like Moonlight, the powers that be
decide to take it away. It always seems to happen to the very good and very different shows.
This show has a phenomenal following. Please bring it over to USA. You won't regret it.
Thank you for considering our petition!

QUIT WORRYING ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE AND CONCENTRATE ON CONTACTING, EMAILING AND ESPECIALLY WRITING SCI-FI! They are part of USA Network (same address) and are the last and best hope we have of getting a new home for Moonlight (unless the Wisdom Fairy sprinkles truth dust over Nina Tassler and Les Moonves of CBS and they wake up screaming "What have we done?!!!!)

CW officially announced a couple of days ago that, after considering it, they had absolutely no interest in picking up Moonlight. They ARE part of CBS, don't forget! BUT SCI-FI IS STILL A POSSIBILITY!!! PRAISE THEM, BLESS THEM AND BEG THEM TO PICK UP OUR SHOW!!!

I am writing to your network requesting consideration for picking up the series Moonlight with Alex O'Laughlin. I have been a HUGE fan since the beginning of the series and feel devastated that Friday nights on CBS will now be boring until Numb3ers comes on. I have considered boycotting CBS on Friday nights for their insensitivity to all the fans of Moonlight. Second, I am a HUGE fan of Scifi network and think this show would be a great fit and asset to the line up. Please consider my request, I am grateful for your consideration. cat5964Colorado Springs, CO P.S. This is my first ever letter to a network, I feel that strongly about this show. Thanks

Moonlight Fans,
Don't lose faith or hope. USA and Sci-Fi have not closed their doors on Moonlight, the foot is in the door. We have this forum and others to build support and convince a network that this is a show worth a second chance.
Remember JAG started on NBC, then went to CBS and then to USA for re-runs. Many of us still enjoy waking up to David James Elliot as Harmon Raab. All the networks play in this game, so as much as I would love to bash CBS further, saying I am no longer a CBS program watcher is my best protest for their actions.
Keep writing and keep believing. It's the only way to make the emotions, wants and desires of a vast viewership known. They have to be reading these things and know how much and how many people are behind this. Be perpetually cool!
All things are possible if you believe…..

Hey, USA & all you Moonlight lovers. I spoke with a woman in LA who has worked on TV sets before, and she said that even if the Moonlight sets are torn down to make room for something else they need to do, it's not that big of a deal - she said they can be torn down in a matter of a few hours and set back up in the same amount of time; everything is saved and marked.
I hope she is right - I was upset at the thought of the sets being torn down, but what she said does make sense.
I just want Moonlight back ASAP, and hopefully on USA!
Thanks again for your forum, USA. This is the first time I have ever felt so strongly about a TV show, that I am actually willing to fight to bring it back! I never wrote to networks or anything like that before, but this was just too much - Moonlight is the best show on TV, & so worth the time & effort to get it back.
Hang in there, everybody!

This show has everything: a compelling storyline, beautiful and talented actors, action, sultry romance and 8 million fans who would follow it to the ends of the earth. There is so much more to know. CBS has made it abundantly clear that our opinions don't count and they don't care about what their viewers really want to see. All we want is for someone to give Moonlight a caring home and recognize what an exceptional show this is. Value it, nuture it, promote it, acknowledge it. I hope that someone is USA.

Oh gosh USA, I've said it before I'll say it again. PLEASE bring back Moonlight!! I'm here just listening to the music and it's making me tear up. I was watching reruns (downloaded) with my husband last night for the first time...and after the first show he was HOOKED!! i think we watched 7 Moonlight shows last night, he just couldn't get enough!! I've always liked USA and watched the 4400 all the time, until it was cancelled. I also love Sci-Fi and will watch Moonlight if it goes there..this is the most amazing show ever, it's the only one I've ever fought for...the only one that's given me nightmares of the thought of it ended...and the only one to cause me heart ache over the thought that I might have lost the best show ever. Please USA, take me, take all the fans with you...WE NEED YOU USA!

No offense to Scifi, but USA is a much larger, more widely respected network and now becoming known for its primetime originals. I personally think USA would be a much better home for the fabulous set of characters that are Mick, Beth, and Josef. Our OVER (way over) 8 million fans of the show (nielsen only shows a fraction) would really help bring USA more to the forefront of cable networks. Many millions each television season are leaving "the big three" and looking more at cable networks. USA, let Moonlight help propel you to the top and allow this wonderfully written and well-acted show continue to flourish.
Moonlight is NOT just a "cult" series with cult fans. We are the mainstream. Many of us (including myself) didn't watch much sci fi or supernatual programming before. Grey's Ananomy, Brothers & Sisters, CSI, Law & Order, Private Practice and many other "mainstream" shows have typically been my favorites. However, there is just something about MOONLIGHT that I just can't get enough of. USA, I am your typical 18-49 female (35 to be exact), married (and expecting) woman that makes most (if not all) of both the spending and TV viewing decisions in my household. I have never written to a network before and have never been active in TV forums before, but this show just deserves someone (all of us) to fight for it.
PLEASE, SAVE OUR MOONLIGHT, PLEASE

To whom it may concern ,
Please SAVE MOONLIGHT !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ithink it would be a great addition to the USA show line up. I really like watching USA like SVU,Burn Notice and I can't wait to watch IN PLAIN SIGHT. And then if you all would get MY FAVORITE PROGRAM ON USA TOO THAT WOULD BE PERFECT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I never miss an episode of MOONLIGHT !!!!!!!! Even re-runs .........
Moonlight has a HUGE fan base people of all ages from 8-80 .... And fans ALL OVER THE WORLD... MEN AND WOMEN alike !!!!!!!!
It's brilliantly written script and the acting is OUT OF THIS WORLD.. CBS put MOONLIGHT on Friday night at 9pm. And everybody calls it the "DEATH SPOT" because normally the shows that have been put in that time slot hasn't done very good AT ALL. Because alot of people aren't home at that time of night. BUT alot of people like myself sets the DVR and watches it later. But I think if it had been put on a different night and time it might have done EVEN BETTER THAN 8 MILLION viewers and I think 8 million is awesome for Fridays @ 9pm. MOONLIGHT had a consistant fan base every week of around 8 million fans.
It also come on at a time that wasn't good for any show.. THE WRITERS STRIKE and I understand why that went on but it did hurt alot of shows ratings. And that shouldn't even play a part in MOONLIGHT.
But even during the writers strike it had consistant ratings through that tough time.
It brought such a breathe of fresh air to TV. Something that nobody had seen in awhile. Everything now days are reality shows and comedies. And here comes this show MOONLIGHT and it just captured EVERYBODY'S heart.
We also voted for it to win the PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD FOR FAVORITE NEW DRAMA. We LOVE the show enough to let it win a PCA so that tells you that we want to KEEP IT for as long as we can (for at least 8 seasons) there is so much that hasn't been told. AND SO MANY UNANSWERED QUESTIONS and so many things that they could tell about each character etc.
We have also set up a blood drive for MOONLIGHT. We also got up enough money to post ads in the Hollywood Reporter and Variety.
If MOONLIGHT was promoted better I know that they could get even more viewers than 8 million. And to me 8 million is pretty good considering that they was promoted very good at all...
This show deserves another chance to blossom, a chance that it was NEVER given by CBS. It has SOOOOOOO much potential if someone would give it a chance...
I along with so many fans (all 8million) that's before DVR ratings !
You all say CHARACTERS WELCOME ... I would like to put in a request for a time slot for our beloved MOONLIGHT and enough room for 8 million plus fans a new place to call home to watch our BELOVED MOONLIGHT !!!!!!!!!!.
Please help us we are hoping that someone (especially USA ) will give our show the chance it never got from CBS ............... PLEASE SAVE THIS GREAT SHOW and put NEW episodes on the CHARACTER NETWORK...
Will follow MOONLIGHT where ever it goes.... PLEASE HELP US SAVE OUR BELOVED MOONLIGHT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THANK YOU FROM ALL 8 million plus MOONLIGHT FANS !

USA network would be a great home for Moonlight ! There are so many other creative series offered on the network, Burn Notice , Monk, The Starter Wife, every year new ones are added that we make time to follow because they are so good. Moonlight is that good. We watched it every Friday, recorded it and watched again. My daughters, ages 36 and 38 and their families did the same--they have huge families and everybody just loved the show. I have never been so upset when a show was dropped. missed them yes, but never spent time combing the internet trying to find a way to let a network know how much we wanted the show to return.
PLEASE USA GIVE MOONLIGHT A CHANCE THIS FALL. YOU AND YOUR SPONSERS WON'T BE SORRY, WE'LL MAKE A POINT TO TRY WHAT EVER THEY ADVERTISE. THERE'S ENOUGH OF US --8 MILLION OR SO--THEY'LL NOTICE !!

The first attraction Moonlight was the Detective Story.
Even amongst Mick's first voice-overs he says, "Like all
good detective storys - this one begins with a girl." The
added feral strengths of Vampirism added to the main
character and his buddies. Beth added the romance-
factor. The spots of History added interest and depth
to the Story.
The whole thing - like this - stirred together -
is what made Moonlight such an attractive Story for so
many viewers. It was Unique and not copied or rehashed
off of any other series!
THIS is what grew the fan-base to such huge numbers!
They can add "the Legion" as a constant adversary in small
drops, and that'll work.
There's too many Paths this Storyline
can take in the manner it already has -
that would make for really good episodes for years!

For so many of us Moonlight fans, it has come as a shock and heartbreak that a well loved show called Moonlight has come to it's end........unless it can be picked up by another network. It is a amazing at how many fan's of Moonlight have come together to support the continuation of the show and begging other networks to pick it up. What is the harm of giving the fan's a second season of Moonlight, and to prove the fan's loyalty to the show and also to the network who will pick it up.
We are BEGGING.....Please USA.....Pick up the show called MOONLIGHT. You won't be disappointed. I have never blogged before but the fight to save Moonlight has inspired me to do what I can to save a show that my husband and I enjoy watching every week.
