Full Version: Renew the campaign to bring our show back!!
USA Network Forums > Past Programs > The 4400

Let’s continue/begin our campaign to bring the show back. I propose that we save our money since the seeds are not working and just absolutely bombard USA Network with letters. I will commit to sending 6 per day, every day, until we get a response. This will only work if everyone sends at least one letter every day. If you are able, printing the petition and including it in the envelope would be great. If not, just please send letters.

Anyone with me? I need all of my American and overseas friends to join me on this one. We should not be ignored!!

Ok then guys....let's start right now!! Everyday, or as many as you can per week, mail a letter expressing your disagreement with the cancellation. Be passionate, but be polite!! We do not want to be offensive or threatening; we're better than that! wink.gif

Send those letters off!!!

I'm still up for letter writing along with the other mission. :-) I have not given up hope yet.

To USA Networks' Execs:

Please consider doing a 2 hour show wrap up the way so many other shows have done. The fans really appreciate this show, it's fantastic. We really don't want to leave it hanging!

Thanks for all that it has been so far, it has excited my mind much more than X-men, or any of the other Sci-fi shows about super-human abilities ever have.

Did you guys and gals know Jacqueline sent seeds as well? She mentions the campaign and seed sending on her site.... Unfortunately though it sounds like they were mostly returned to the sender and the letter went unread.

Oh my god!! My wife and I had no idea the show had been canceled!!! We were just looking to see when it would start back, what a bummer.

Jeesh, what stoner made this decision? They're canceling 4400, but starting a show about witness protection...oh wait isn't that another cop drama with dysfunctional characters?! At least in the 4400 the dysfunctional characters can make cars into paper clips with their minds or something else interesting!

It's one of the only things we look forward to in the summer tv line up (besides Stargate and Eureka on Sci-Fi channel). In fact call me crazy but the good sci-fi shows are hard to come by these days.

Ok we're in! We'll send our letters first thing tomorrow!!

Even if they don't bring it back I would settle for at least a good novel to wrap the story up. I don't mean one of those cheap papeback trash novels either, I mean a really well written and thought out book. I'd buy that....sound good to anyone else?

oh my god! i didn't know either! letter in the mail tomorrow! and i will make my sisters do the same. no proper ending cannot happen!

Welcome to the newest board members! Thank you for your support. Kindly check out the petition page & sign up. I'm going to print it and include a copy with my letters.

Thanks everyone smile.gif

You know what you should do if they're ignoring petitions, letters and boxes of seeds - go hire a dumper truck, put a banner on it saying "SAVE THE 4400", fill that up with seeds, then go dump them on the USA Networks front doorstep.... I'd like to see them return those to the sender. wink.gif

Check this out about The O.C. - if a network can ignore that many signatures/fans, it really doesn't bode well for our campaign....

"Save the O.C." webpage
Towards the end of 2006, FOX inserted a webpage on their website entitled Save The OC, asking people to sign an OC loyalty oath. It was stated on the webpage that "not enough people out there have come back to Newport this season". On the webpage, fans were able to send the oath to a friend, sign up for the OC newsletter, and they were also asked to send an email to lovetheoc@gmail.com explaining why they loved the show. According to the webpage, "a very important and powerful person" would be reading the emails. The oath reads as follows:

" I PROMISE to cancel dinner dates, skip night school classes, trade shifts with a co-worker, walk the dog after dinner and do whatever else is necessary to ensure that I am on my couch each and every Thursday night at 9pm. Or 8 central. And when I am on that couch at that time, I will do nothing but watch The OC. I vow to do this every week to show my support for Ryan, Seth, Summer, Sandy, Kirsten, Julie and all of those new people that I love. With my humble effort each week, I will help build a groundswell of support for one of the best shows on television, The OC. With this virtual signature, I THEE WATCH. " Although the oath had a humorous tone to it, few of the fans were laughing after the show was actually canceled. At the time of the cancellation, the webpage had received tens of thousands of signatures on a daily basis. Soon after the cancellation though, the number of daily signatures steadily began to decline, eventually leveling off at between roughly 1,500 and 5,500 per day. Slight increases in daily signatures were noticeable around the airing of each week's episode. This trend was broken on the air date of the final episode, when more than 18,000 signatures were brought in. FOX closed the SaveTheOC webpage on 11 July 2007; it had a total of 740,000 signatures just before closure.

What the Hell? I just logged on to see when the season was going to start - I had no idea they were cancelling it! What I am wondering is do letter writting campaigns really work? I mean I'm all for it - but what can we really do?

This sucks because it is the one thing I look forward to for the summer! mad.gif

Bump!!! Welcome to all newcomers to the boards!

We 'old timers' around here have been advised that a paper letter is worth 100 emails, so please mail a letter everyday to USA Network telling them that we deserve proper closure!!
