Only reason I watched USA network was for "THE 4400"

Now that it has been cancelled... I have cancelled USA.

Monk & Psych are real dumb ass shows... Obviously takes no intelligence to watch those shows.

USA... spend the money and bring back "The 4400"

Your going to loose lots of viewers without that intelligent Sci-fi show!

At least..... do a series finale mini-series to close out the series.... Show your viewers you appreciate us & don't leave us out in the cold.

I hate Psych . .. rather like Monk but I must agree with the poster above. Science Fiction needs all the help it can get and so does our undereducated/overstimulated youth.

Please bring back 4400.

you probably shouldn't be burning other peole's favorite shows if you want this topic to get much positive attention...
(and Parcher, not every "youth" is overstimulated/undereducated and i don't even see how that relatesw to your post.)

Obvioulsy I am an AVID 4400 fan and am very upset at the unfair premature cancellation, but downing other shows is not going to get our show back. As much as I love The 4400, Monk and Pysch come in right behind it in my book, both GREAT shows! I will always appreciate USA for bringing quality programming to the forefront. I still have some animosity for the cancellation but there is no reason to absolutely boycott a great network, just wish we could get them to reconsider a really bad decision!!

If you like those shows, or any others that "USA" shows. Cool. Great, Then your very lucky. I myself don't do much for re-runs (Re-broadcasts). Those re-runs of shows I want, I get on DVD, or hulu/bitorrent.

It's not that I am boycotting USA, Just they don't have anything to offer that I am interested in watching.

4400 was the ONLY "Original programming" show (Not re-broadcasts) USA network had that I liked.
I am upset with most networks for starting series and at LEAST NOT showing a "Series Finale" to finish out the storyline.

At least the network shows a "Series Finale" for "Jericho" when they cancelled that series. We aren't even getting a "Series Finale" with 4400.

USA network isn't the only network that has issues with cancelling good shows & not even giving us a "Series Finale" on them. Especially series that have run more than ONE season. I wouldn't expect a series finale for a newly introduced series that is canceled in it's FIRST season.

4400 DID make it through 4 (four) Seasons... We should have at LEAST received a Series Finale.

Many shows this season on several networks were cancelled and won't be returning because of the writers strike.

I have posted similar complaints about canceling series that have been on for more than one season without even broadcasting a series finale on other forum sites for those networks as well.

While I don't personally like Psych or Monk very well, My APOLOGIES. I was being rash & realize many others do like them. Obviously... Since NEITHER Psych or Monk have been cancelled.

However... just imagine them cancelling either of those shows WITHOUT a series finale?

I guess in all honesty. I am more upset with USA network for not having a series finale to 4400 then cancelling the series.

Thanks

Aww, I'm sorry to hear they're not only cancelling it, but not doing a finale. It does seem like the kind of show that definitely needs one--too many plotlines that need some kind of closure!

I'm one of the Moonlight fans hoping USA picks up our show, so I know how it feels to see something you enjoyed get inexplicably washed away. I feel for you.
Trumpetplayergirl
I agree, there needs to be at least a series finale....it's cruel to just leave us all hanging on the "tom taking promicin" and everything else...all these unfinished subplots!!! Drives me nuts!!

I like Monk too, but I'd still be willing to live without it and boycott if it sent a message to USA. Lots of people would have to be involved for it to have an effect...

Hey! I am glad someone other than I liked Moonlight! as well as the 4400... They definately will be missed...I won't be spending so much time in front of my TV now that my favorite shows are now off of the air. A real shame if you ask me! I guess the networks don't want to be watched anymore. I have boycotted USA! because of what they did to the series, my family no longer watches USA anymore, and I wrote a letter to USA expressing my disaproval of the way they handled the series' exit.

The only reason I watched USA during the summer or any television for that matter was because of the 4400. The show is the best thing on that channel. I cannot stand another rerun of cop show. The 4400 was fresh and always had a surprising plot in each show.

BRING BACK THE 4400....or a spin off even....I want to know what happens to all the characters that we fell in love with.

I do not want to bash other shows. I just cannot even believe the decision though to stop the 4400. It is one of the most creative and engaging television shows that I have ever seen. I am not a big TV watcher, but everything about it-the story, the characters, the acting. I cannot believe some of the other programs that are still on that don't even come close in any of these areas. I won't bash them but some of the newer shows don't come close!

Please bring back the 4400! Isn't there anything else we can do? I think it was a huge mistake to cancel it....

I agree with you they messed up big time! i use to watch Monk, Physc, Crimmal Intent,Texas Ranger,4400, and Dead Zone which they cancelled that also. and also house, but in Feb. i boycotted, and will not allow anyone in my house to watch USA network. I just dont understand if so many people watch 4400 why did they cancel it? their ratings had to be good, but i just hope they lose now in ratings.B-cause if people stops watching USA. it should hurt them.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THE 4400 IS NOT COMING BACK ON AFTER WAITING ALL YEAR!! IT'S ONLY 13 EPISODES FOR CRYING OUT LOUD - SPEND THE MONEY AND MAKE EVERYONE HAPPY. I, TOO, HAVE BANNED THE USA NETWORK UNTIL THE 4400 & THE DEAD ZONE HAVE BEEN RETURNED FOR OUR VIEWING PLEASURE!!!

Good post Megan, I feel the same way. I wish things have ended differently for both shows.

I typed 4400 in a search window to find out when my favorite summer show will start up again and I can't believe what I am reading. I only watch 2 shows in the summer..4400 and Heroes.. Heroes won't start back up until September and with no 4400 ( I am shocked and Upset about this ) I will be watching more netflix movies. This is unbelievable. Is there something that can be done?
If USA doesn't pick the 4400 back up I too am dumping USA.
I agree with all who say at least give us an ending instead of leaving us all hanging.

Didnt USA learn anything from the past?

Their network almost was cancelled after they let WWE go to TNN. They then took a chance and developed some original programming. This original programming led to not only a turn around, but USA being the most watched cable channel. Then they were able to reacquire WWE Raw, and they really were poised to dominate the cable ratings. So what does USA do? They go against the grain. They cancel 2 of their most popular shows. I think that is it pretty safe to say that the majority of people who watched 4400 also watched Dead Zone, and it is us fans that USA is sticking it to.

Lets be honest here and run down what they have.

Monk - A boring show, I mean honestly, how much can you play up a guy who has OCD? Ive never been a fan, and wouldnt care less if it went away.

Psych - Its a cutesy show, if im flipping channels I might stay on it for a few minutes for a laugh or two, but its never going to be a show ill make a point to watch.

Burn Notice - Just absolutely horrible, some of the worst acting you will ever see. Its basically a rip off of the Bourne Identity, without any of the action or really any type of decent back story.

In Plain Sight - Sure it got good ratings in its debut, but only after USA had been advertising it for months and months and months. Had they put 10% of the effort into promoting the 4400 and the Dead Zone last year maybe they wouldnt have been so disappointed with the ratings. Not to mention USA had absolutely horrible times for their airings last season, Sunday nights at 9 and 10PM?

Law and Order C.I. - A show that was cancelled by another network because it was logically over, but USA choose to air new episodes of so they could get a discount on all the reruns of the other Law and Order shows it runs.

Look USA has to be honest here, they cancelled both shows not because of a lack of fan support, but because of the writers strike. Had things gone on as planned, both shows would be on the air for another season. I mean anybody who watches the bonus features on the previous 4400 dvds know that the writers of the show had planned on about 100 episodes of this series. Instead we didnt even get half of that. USA really dropped the ball here.

Not only have I stopped watching USA, but I will never watch any of their original series again. Why the hell would I invest my time into watching shows, spend my money on dvds so I can rewatch them, only to have USA pull the plug on them before they are over. I have 4 seasons of The 4400 and 6 seasons of the Dead Zone, probably all together costs about $350, and to me it was a waste of money. All that happens when I rewatch these shows is at the end ill be pissed off because there is no logical ending. Even if USA finished up 4400 with a mini-series like the show started, consisting of 5 episodes, I wouldnt be so pissed.

I can tell you, USA will never earn my trust back enough for me to watch any new series on their networks.

Well, I got the rest of my family off USA, at least for the summer. Let's send them a message guys.

The whole trust issue..... I am right with you. I won't start a show either. It is not worth the risk of having it yanked.
I really want to give my opinion on some of USA's other series but I won't only because I don't want to hurt the feelings of the fans of those shows. It amazes me though how they will leave the dumb, the boring, the old and worn out and take away the refreshing, edge of your seat, good over evil shows. What are these people thinking.
missamberlori
Boycotting USA is the only thing there is left to do-ratings are the only way to hurt a network and those of you who are sticking with USA are doing nothing to support The 4400.
The show is over-we have lost-the cast and writers have moved on-but I will not support the network that murdered the show!

My username explains it all. mad.gif I am extremely peeved that they would pull 2 awesome shows, meaning 4400, of course, and Dead Zone. Im no longer going to look at anything USA has to offer for programming. I am an avid M*A*S*H fan and I catch that on USA all the time but from now on I will be tuning to a different station that shows that. I dont need USA if they are going to treat their viewers that way. I dont need a station like that at all. You better think long and hard about this USA executives because this will mean the death of your network for sure. What a waste... Wasnt that why you put shows like 4400 on in the first place? To save the network? Oh, and I am also speaking for my wife, as she has officially dropped the USA channel too. She likes that show Monk for some reason but has stopped watching it since we learned of cancellation of the 2 shows that we would bite our nails looking foward to. Its all up to USA how they want it from here. Like the title of this thread No more 4400 No more USA Network for us(goes for Dead Zone too as far as we are concerned).
I also encourage anyone that loved these awesome shows to please, please, please sign the petitions to keep them going(4400: http://forums.usanetwork.com/index.php?showtopic=393722 / Dead Zone: http://forums.usanetwork.com/index.php?sho...4703&st=480). smile.gif

P.S. USA: You may save face by giving some kind of closure to those programs by at least making a 5 hour Series Finale or something along those lines. If you would have done that in the first place you probably couldve bowed out gracefully instead of upsetting the viewer base you worked so hard to obtain.

P.P.S I wonder if anyone that matters will actually read any of these posts and do something about it huh.gif

About watching USA network and The 4400 replacement: "In Plain Sight" Registering an impressive 5.25 million viewers overall, the episode easily surpassed the July 2004 debut of The 4400 as USA Network's most-watched series premiere.

It seems not many of the loyal 4400 viewers are sticking to the boycott plan of the USA network. Ratings and money not begging and sunflower seeds are the only thing that can get their attention.

If for no other reason that for the cancelation of The 4400-we should all be boycotting the USA network and ALL THE PROGRAMING THEY AIR-NOT JUST THIS SHOW-OR OVER THE SUMMER-BUT FOR GOOD!!!

I vow to never tune my television to USA Network ever again unless they bring back The 4400 or give us the closure we deserve!!

I hope the replacement shows tank and/or Bonnie Hammer realizes her fatal mistake and brings back this amazing show and actually lets Ira Steven Behr do whatever he wants creatively. Enough with the creative interference! "Being Tom Baldwin" should have been a drama, not a cliche action story with a morphing "bad guy".
parnote
If the USA Network won't continue with the 4400 saga, or at least give us a finale, perhaps someone like the SciFi Channel could/would pick it up where it was left off and give the fans of The 4400 either a continuation of the story and it's multiple subplots, or give us a finale that brings the saga to a logical end.

The SciFi Channel has done this in the past with other good sci-fi shows, such as Stargate SG-1. Please ... someone should step up to the plate and do the right thing!
lucia
I was hoping the SCI Fi channel would pick up the 4400. Then again I hoped the same thing with the show Invasion; a Shawn Cassidy creation. They didn't pick that up either and it was terriffic.
Is SG 1 over? I stopped watching when they picked up an actor and actress from FarScape. It was too much for me seeing them together in different roles yet playing pretty much the same characters as they did on FarScape. Besides with out Richard Dean Anderson Playing a leading role the show suddenly lost it's appeal.
I am loyal to my shows. If only the networks would be loyal to the fans.
Chrispho
or they could do something with it like they did to firefly... firefly was canncelled after only one season but did so well after that they made a feature film that also did really well. i could see this happen to the 4400 if some higher-up realizes that the 4400 has a huge following, and that all of them would see and probably buy the movie.

NOT!

THEY CAME BACK...IN RECORD NUMBERS!

USA NETWORK'S ORIGINAL SERIES "THE 4400" IS HIGHTEST-RATED AND MOST-WATCHED NEW SERIES PREMIERE EVER ON BASIC CABLE NETWORK.

USA Network Now Boasts The Top Three Most-Watched Original Series Premieres in Basic Cable History.

New York, NY, July 13, 2004 - Sunday's telecast of the USA Network Original Series The 4400 was the highest-rated and most-watched new series premiere ever on basic cable, with a 5.7 in households, a 3.48 in P18-49, a 3.75 in P25-54. and 7.4 million viewers watching in 5 million homes tuning in.

"We're thrilled with the extraordinary response to The 4400 from critics as well as viewers," said Bonnie Hammer, president, USA Network and SCI FI Channel. "Its success is a result of a great product enhanced by creative marketing and strong on-air promotion - in other words, the total collaboration of a great team."

The 4400 now leads The Dead Zone (4.7 household rating and 6.4 million viewers) and Peacemakers (4.0 household rating and 5.2 million viewers) as the most-watched original series premieres in basic cable history. USA Network now boasts four of the five top original scripted series premieres in basic cable history, including Monk (3.5 household rating and 4.8 million viewers).

The 4400 is USA Network's most watched original event since the miniseries Moby Dick in March 1998, which averaged (over two nights) 10.4 million viewers.

The 4400 more than doubled the network's usual Sunday evening ratings in households (+157%) and P25-54 (+131%), with P18-49 (+130%). The premiere attracted an additional 4.5 million viewers to the network vs. the average Sunday night audience.

I got rid of my TV and cable in December. With the exception of catching a few bits and pieces of shows at a friends house when I visit, I have not watched TV since around December 10th or so.

what's really sickening is canceling 4400 and having a show like Dr.Steve-o >.> that's really sickening.
