Yeah, I agree. But that scene was defaintly a little too raunchy for the younger vewiers. I just wouldn't want my children watching that. But, all in all, you made a very good point and though I disagree with some of it I respect and recognize your right to have your own oppinion

Keep the Monk vibes coming---just heard from a producer, he likes my JACKSON'S SONG script, likes it well enough to recommend it to his boss and then hopefully to the Hallmark Channel it goes---and yes, I have a character named LELAND!!!!!!

laugh.gif

Limama1956, I just wanted to congratulate you again! If your agent could get the Hallmark Channel interested in your script "Jackson's Song" that would be quite a feather in your cap. If not the Hallmark Channel, I'm sure another one will pick it up. I am very impressed with your accomplishments and I have been bragging to my church lady friends that I have spoke to a real life writer of movies on line. As I have said before you should get TL to cough up some money as the Executive Producer so He could control the parts he gets in movies. Some of them are real stinkers. You could help him out with his quality control problems! Break a Leg!

Seems good to be back on the Monk board after missing 3 days !!
I see there was a Monk marathon yesterday and of course I missed it EXCEPT for a few seconds when I saw an eppie where Stot and Randy were getting auctioned off, wish I could have seen that one , never saw it before.

Thank you so much for your kind words, Ma. I'm like the little engine that could, I just keep chugging and plugging away. Hopefully I'll hear something this week.

Don't feel bad, I missed the marathon too between the kidney stones, my writing and everything else. It was a real LABOR DAY for me!

Cranberry juice, grown in WI, yumm. smile.gif It's not so bad if you mix it with apple. It's high in antioxidants, very good for urinary tract health - drink more, stone less! tongue.gif

They put it in cat food because cat's are prone to urinary tract blockage, especially the males can die from it brcause of their small urinary tube. Blueberries can do the same thing. Just FYI - another FYI, feeding your cat a tbsp of raw pumpkin a day (which most cats love) helps prevent hair balls, it's also good dietary fiber.

My hubby today went and got me some cranberry juice blends today, so maybe that will go down better. I put lots of ice. Lots and lots of ice!

I tell ya, I've been limping around like the Capt!

I can't drink cranberry juice either. I gives me a sour stomach and acid reflux. I heard it was good health wise and thought I would give it another try, but nope, down the drain it went , just can't drink it. I agree with you about the ice, ice is nice !! smile.gif

tongue.gif Oh Happy Day! My husband Larry agreed to watch L.A. Riot Extravaganza with me! The video store didn't have it in stock so they ordered it for me. Luckily for me, you say T.L. has a small part in it like a U.F.O. blip on a radar screen. Now you see it, now you don't and hopefully my hubby don't. Hopefully my husband will fall asleep on the couch before Ted appears because he told me he'd rather watch The movie "Leprechaun in the Hood" on Spanish cable tv without subtitles before he'd watch another Ted Levine movie again. Wish me luck!

Thanks for the 411. Too late to cancel the movie, I'll just put some Valium in Larry's Mac and Cheese. JFYI, Larry owns the whole darn Leprechaun library. Don't ask.

I scare myself sometimes Tami. I am a big horror movie fan so I have seen some bad ones in my time let me tell ya. And I don't know why I thought perhaps there was something fun about Leprechaun in the Hood. Bad judgment call.

I guess it wasn't magically delicious ...

Do let us know if Larry manages to sleep through all of Ted's scenes, won't you, MaB?

Unfortunately I have to go back to work for awhile, hopefully I will get to see some of the eppies .

Y'all have a good day !

LIMAMA1956
In this Friday's eppy, it seemed to me that Ted, while he had a lot of face time, looked a bit haggard. Also, in the 100 party video, it seems that he's lost weight too. I hope our Teddy is okay.

I noticed a bit of weight loss, too ...

One thing about him looking haggard, I noticed that more in the "party at Novak's house" scenes more than the "on the case scenes", where the lighting is much different ...
4thecaptain
I thought TL looked thinner as well, I noticed it in his face first. Hope all is well.

Well, I've been putting this off long enough. Its time to face the music. Here's my review of LA Riot Spectacular. When we were all kids, there always was the one sick kid in the neighborhood that liked to pull pranks on his neighbors like filling a paper sack with doggy doo, sticking it on a porch and lighting it on fire. He would ring the intended targets doorbell and run like hell. LA Riot Spectacular is kinda like that: A flaming bag of Sh** stuck to the bottom of your shoe. I feel like that victim, embarrassed, angry, and disgusted all at the same time. Ted Levine plays a Nazi/ white power dad who is passing on the torch of hatred to his son. There is a very offensive scene where Ted Levine uses the n-word.The best part of this movie is TL's blonde shoebrush toupee- it didn't look unrealistic. I know it was supposed to be a satire but I wasn't laughing. Around my house, violent and rascist rap music and the n-word are forbidden in my house. This movie put me on the spot in front of my kids and made me look bad. i watched it to the end hoping that it redeemed itself- no such luck. Very offensive and unforgivable. I strongly recommend that no one watches this movie. Sorry TL. sad.gif

Same to you, Capt. Very muggy here but we are close to the water so we are saved by the nice breeze blowing in from Long Island Sound. We are long overdue for a hurricane but when you see what happened in Texas and New Orleans we hope it will continue to pass us by.

I haven't heard how Tony came out at the Emmys.

I'm not the only one who's noticed Ted's gaunt look and weight loss. Another pal on the Ted Levine Yahoo e-mail group commented on it as well.

huh.gif

kees_lady
Ted does look gaunt in the pictures from the 100th - it reminds me of my mom when her congestive heart failure wasn't pumping enough oxygen to her body, gaunt, gray, thin and sallow...

Wonder, he's the right age for plaque in his arteries and bypass surgery...

Couldn't you say the same thing about Tony, then? I mean, if you're judging from the 100th ep party photos ...

kees_lady
They all look pale and washed out in the single pictures of them...in the group picture TL still looks pale and washed out, no make up maybe....?
4thecaptain
Lighting and make up can really affect the pics for sure !!! Even TS looks pale and older in the pic above. I thought Ted looked good in the last episode that aired , which I heard was the last one filmed too, so that made me feel better. I'm in my early 50's and everything is starting to sag !! rolleyes.gif Some people age better than others. LOL

All in all I think the Monk cast looks pretty good !!

Tami
Anyone happen to watch "My Name Is Earl"? Earl's brother Randy did a bunch of famous lines from movies, including "It puts the lotion in the basket ..." Hilarious! laugh.gif
MrChug
I really identify with his character alot. Dry, funny, a temper, but a good dude.

It's still so hard for me to connect that he's the "It rubs the lotion on its skin. It does this whenever it is told!!"

Still love the guy...

I bought SOTL yesterday at Wal-Mart for $5 !!! I could not believe that was TL in that movie when I first found out ! One day I will watch that movie all the way through.
LIMAMA1956
Thanks to a link at the Ted Levine Yahoo message board, I was able to download all the eppys from Teddy's WONDERLAND TV show...I am in Levine heaven! Seeing him stretch his acting muscles on this show makes me realize just how under utilized he is on MONK.

LOL 4thcaptain! It's been a long, long time since the movie Silence of the Lambs (1991) came out in the movie theaters, 17 very long years have gone by since its debut in fact. It's about time to sit yourself down and make a commitment to see the movie end to end-Ted Levine's character Buffalo Bill's 4-5? scenes happens toward the end of the movie and you really should as a TL fan take the time to watch them (You can thank me later!) I'd be interested in your thoughts on the movie. Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster star. Sadly today a lot of the younger generation (under 25 years old) doesn't seem to remember this film even though it is frequently shown on cable tv.
