Wow, I would make the most ineffective detective. After 6 seasons of puzzling over Ted Levine's appearance, it's only through reading this board that I've realised he wears a hair piece when playing the captain!

He has such piercing blue eyes and high brows that I can almost see him in one of those aged, b&w Victorian photos - such classic features and a permanently haughty look.

Maybe it was the mustache that distracted me.

I missed like the first 5 min or so of the new ep last night and I was wondering if I missed anything explaing Stanleys absence. I did hear them refering to his passing and that was all, didn't know if they went into more detail or not. I didn,t notice Randy's hair, I must have been looking at someone else ( ahem ) I just love the Stot / Randy situations, Randy always has that lovable goofy look when he is being completely serious about something and Stot looks at him like he is nuts, love it !! Monk is about the only thing on TV I am even slightly interested in watching. The whole cast is great.

Well, in hindsight, I wish I had missed last night's eppy too. On a scale of 1-10 I would rate it minus 20.

Oh my, you are not happy at all with the ep are you ? I watched it in between doing other things , so I did not give it my undivided attention. Something did seem amiss though and you are right about those claw foot bathtubs, my dads old house had one and it was REALLY old and made of cast iron. I would like to see Nat try pulling that around .

I was very disappointed, yes. Can't pretend otherwise. But Ted's toupee looked nice.

Why is Ted Levine not nominated for an Emmy for Best Supporting Actor in a comedy??? He is the funniest supporting character on TV. Those classic looks he gives to Monk should win him the award hands down!!

If the whole show centered around Ted Levine, well, I`m sure you would have loved it. Even with the same lame script, IYO.

It would be kinda funny if they did a line from "Silence of the Lambs" in front of Captain Stottlemyer like "Put the lotion in the basket." with the imitation voice.

I know CSI has already used that line in one of it's episodes.

You brought up an interesting point, If Adrian Monk is such an observent detective, why hasn't he noticed Captain Stottlemeyer's man wig? Maybe this is a clue? I agree with you, Ted Levine does have a haughty foppish dandy look to him. He has an arrogant air to him not unlike Dr. Smith from Lost In Space with his pompously raised eyebrows and suspious glare and eyerolling. I keep hearing you ladies talk about what a hotty TL is, maybe you mean what a haughty! LOL!

Maybe he can get a part in Paris Hilton's follow up movie sequel to The Hottie and the Nottie called The Hottie and the Nottie and Haughty Stotty II!

It was so hot last night, me and hubby went for a midnight dip in the pool...and with the moon reflecting on the water, and the way the jets made the water splash, and when I was on the other side of the pool and hubby was on the "dark side", hell, he coulda passed for TL!!

Oh yeah, my thing for TL is well known. On my blog, at my writers chat, TL is my muse and inspiration. I was having trouble with my latest script (which is not like me) and then I realized what was missing: Ted. I quickly turned my gruff handyman into Ted, and voila, the pages began flowing again.

When I saw David Straithairn I recognized the face but can not place him. What films or TV has he done ?

DS is a very versatile, accomplished actor, an actor's actor...he was nominated for an Oscar for GOOD NIGHT AND GOOD LUCK, he was in THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM (playing a baddie), THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES, SIMON BIRCH, DOLORES CLAIRBORNE and my favorites THE RIVER WILD, SNEAKERS (the blind guy) and EIGHT MEN OUT....he is a notch below TL on my hottie scale.

TYVM He has a very distinguished look, just saw him again in the ad for next weeks Monk. I have Red Dragon on now on USA, even though I am only half watching it while I do housework.

IMDB Pro says that FF4 is in production in the Dominican Republic, but it does not list TL as one of the cast. Maybe he is doing an uncredited cameo, but that's all I know right now.

I'm up to page 66 on the Christmas script, since I figure to end up around 90-105, I'm right on track. Drew the handyman (our man Ted) has been called away on a family emergency and Bonnie is now "working" at the bakery, helping out the elderly owner. The holiday is approaching, and Bonnie is about to make some "changes" in the bakery recipes.

Yes, two eppys of MONK today! And it looks lousy out too, so it's a good day to stay inside and MONK OUT!

Spent the morning at the doctors and then when I got home I couldn't get onto the Monk message board, was it down for awhile? Everything else seemed to work fine. Had a bunch of blood tests today, feel awful,hope they find out what is going on with me . I also hope Monk is on today, at least that would be a bright side to the day.

Mom and I had quite a day, we had a torrential rain/hail storm, a tornado landed, and then we were stuck at the market during this mess when all the cash registers died due to a power outage. Of course, this happened just when I handed the cashier our coupons.

I see that Monk Buys A House is suppose to be on at 5pm on USA today. I missed the beginning of it when it first aired so will be glad the beginning of it. If I remember I will check out Rand's hair. I think Monk And The Kid is on just before that at 4pm, if my TV guide channel is correct.

I hate to say it, but TL looked kinda peaked in last night's eppy. He had that one good scene where he threw the coffee cup, and then when he talked to Monk about planting evidence, but I dunno...next to David S, our Capt. looked tired.

Oh Leland probably just had another fight with Karen over his alimony and child support; either that or Karen just gave him the 'you're a deadbeat father, you work all the time and never have time for the boys' talk.

Well, the thought did occur to me that perhaps TL was pulling double duty between MONK and filiming his cameo in SHUTTER ISLAND....

Thank you for the info about Shutter Island. I looked it up and it looks scary good. I don't have the time to read many books but I am tempted to skip around this one. Does TL have a big part in this one? I seen a movie listing TL as "Warden" which is another law enforcement official or version of a cop but its something anyway. Have you ever met TL Limama? How's the script writing going for you? Any closer to getting TL to star in one of your movies? Enquiring minds wanna know! I have been too busy to watch any ted movies lately and have been busy doing volunteer work for my church and working but i'll make time soon!
