Well at least it's only for a little while. Do we have any Monk on Friday? Or is it another L&O marathon?

I wouldnt be able to watch Monk anyway with people coming and going all day.
The kids and grandson are suppose to come today and spend the night so I will be thankful to see them for a bit. biggrin.gif

Hey, Captain! Best wishes to you, I hope all goes well!

Has anyone mentioned "The Fulfillment of Mary Gray" ~~ it's an old (1989) made for TV movie starring Cheryl Ladd. Ted has a pretty decent part ... I found a site that has a longish trailer:

Good luck, Captain! My oldest went to the ER after another recurrence of an eye infection, this has been going on since March. They finally gave her the right meds so I hope this is the last time!

Thanks Tami, I guess. This made for tv movie about Ted Levine as an impotent sterile farmer married to Cheryl Ladd (who was the fill in on Charlie's Angels when Farrah Faucett's head got too big) is a real stinker. This movie is the kind of "old timey" dreck that us older folks were forced to watch before cable tv revolutionized tv watching. I know, mabarker watched it when it first aired. This movie is real painful and you just didn't care a hoot when Ted decided to kill himself at the end by wandering into a snowstorm because of his "problem" with his twigs and berries. Something's as they get older turn into fine wine and something's turn to vinegar. LOL! Warning! Only for seriously hardcore fans of Ted Levine. The Fulfillment of Mary Gray is a real piece of poop. Off to work!

LOL! Just for this review I had to go sneak a peek at the trailer...yeah, it stinks worse than dirty diapers, but Ted still looks hot!

smile.gif Forgot to mention the "hot" fight scene between the "olde timey" dingey drop seat long underwear wearing "feuding" brothers in the barn over who was fullfilling Cheryl Ladd. All they left out was the old fashioned rinky dink music and the speeded up film. No wonder people did so many drugs back then, it was because of movies like this. LOL! smile.gif

LOL! I guess adoption was out of the question, huh?

I love the "twig and berries" line, I'm gonna have to use that in a script sometime.

Guess so! I think the "farmer" Ted Levine was hung up on not having enough seed to plow the fields. Mary Grey (CHERYL Ladd) sure didn't miss a beat and lose any sleep over farmer Ted Levine's checking himself out of the picture. The attitude was "thank the Good Lord he was "man" enough to turn the plowing over to his brother and conveniently for all involved "bought the farm" so that she could go back to boffing the brother without too much guilt. Anyways, mabarker was thinking after watching a few too many Ted Levine films lately that either are a pretty good film with too little Ted in them or a real dog of a flick with lots of Ted in them. I'm an opininated old gal that knows nothing no how about the business of making films, just what I like. It just seems like common sense that Ted Levine is having trouble with good projects so maybe he needs to start financing and producing his own movies so he has more control. Your a good writer and a devoted fan. Why don't you all hook up. Ted Levine should pony up the money for a good project with a lot of TL screen time that Limama1956 writes. I guess thats called executive producing like Tony Shalhoub. just a thought! smile.gif

Ma, from your lips to God's ears! The last couple of scripts I've written have been with TL in mind...

I guess this is Hollywood's idea of a happy ending: Brother 1 killing himself so Brother 2 can continue boinking Brother 1's wife.

Just wanted to say "HI" to my TL and Monk friends, had company over the 4th and couldnt get here to visit. Its funny how much I missed checking in every day ! Off to church this morning and another day. Did Mama ever get her Prize ? Love those photos.

smile.gif Good Morning! A week or so ago I convinced "grumpy" my hubbie to watch American Gangster with me before he took off "fishing" with the "boys". I microwaved up some strips of bacon and served em with a side of mayo dunking sauce and started the film. My husband started complaining right from the start that American Gangster was just another Hollywood movie glorifying the rise and fall of the American nutjob criminal. I just rented it to see TL. I never paid much attention to Denzel Washington before but he did a bang-up job acting in this movie. He is quite the talent. Russell Crowe was a snooze and played a basically unconvincing New York City cop. Ted Levine plays yet another small role as yet another Stott-like cop who is Russell Crowe"s boss. In one of Ted Levine's few scenes in American Gangster, TL is wearing the most colorless dead looking toupee and has his reading glasses perched on the end of his nose studing something. My husband started busting a gut laughing that "your boy Ted Levine is started to look like a crazed Don Imus!" He was right of course, TL looked pretty old in this movie but I hit him upside his bald head anyhow and shut him up. The rest of the movie was pretty much a "crime doesn't pay" and "drug dealing makes a lot of money" movie, but overall it was a pretty good film so it's too bad TL was hardly in it.
The good news was my husband overslept the next morning and missed his fishing trip with his buddies and was forced to go shopping at the discount mall with me to buy the boys some new dungeries. I didn't have to clean a single slimey smelly dead fish the next day either. Good times! biggrin.gif

I will dance too, but gingerly.

On a whole other topic. I just learned that my Christmas movie, THE TOWN THAT BANNED CHRISTMAS, was sold to a big international distributor/production company during the Cannes Film Festival. It's a DVD/TV/cable deal. Don't have any more info than that for now. Hope it will air during the 2008 holiday season.

smile.gif I usually check the Monk boards every morning after I fix breakfast for the family herd and before I head into work. This morning I read the news of your good fortune and had to sit myself down and write you a quick note to congradulate you! Your gonna be famous! It must be so exciting to get such recognition in such a tough industry and in such tough times. Cannes Film Festival! Your on your way to hop aboard the fame train with the fortune caboose. Way to go girl!!! If you did live near me, I'd bake you a cherry pie to celebrate. I can't wait to next Christmas to watch it The Town That Banned Christmas with the whole family! smile.gif

Good Day to all in Monkland !! biggrin.gif

Congrats to you LIMAMA , I was going to ask how the writing has been going. How involved do you get in your movies ? You wrote THE TOWN.... and MY HORRIBLE YEAR , I think that is what you told me. Do you get to be on set during filming, etc? How exciting that would be. I wish you the best !!
When I was little I always thought I was going to be an actress ( seriously ) Got that one wrong !!

Well, since this is the TL thread I guess I will go gaze at those wonderful photos ! wink.gif

Take care all

Be gentle to those who come your way today

LIMAMA1956
Thanks, guys. Yes, my two produced movies are MY HORRIBLE YEAR and THE TOWN THAT BANNED CHRISTMAS.

For MHY, I was invited down to the set, but it was in Vancouver, and they wouldn't pay my way. As for CHRISTMAS, it was filmed near me, but the director asked me not to come to the set until the chaos died down. Things went downhill from there and he was eventually dumped. When the new director came on board, it was very awkward, to say the least. That the producers salvaged it is nothing short of a miracle. I wrote it as a sweet Chrismas movie with an edge---neighbors on the attack during a Christmas decorating contest gone haywire. And I wrote it way before that Matthew Broderick stinkeroo.

My goal in 2008: to sell a feature, and to get Ted Levine to star in it!! I just had a company request my quirky family comedy HEAVEN SENT which has a wonderful lead role for Ted...keep your fingers crossed!

The story is about a tween who lives in the nowheresville town of Heaven Sent, Vermont. She hates her town and her life, and then on her 13th birthday she wakes up and gets the shock of her life when she discovers she's grown a pair of angel wings! Course this leads to all sorts of complications. Her Dad is Ambrose (aka Ted Levine) and he's a former hippie now turned college administrator.

Hey, we need to see TL stretch his acting chops and play other characters besides cops!

Sounds great to me !!! I think you have a movie in the making !!! biggrin.gif

When do they film Monk ? I mean ,are they filming now for the summer episodes or would they be done by now ? I was thinking cast members for TV use to have the summer or part of the summer off to do other projects.

As your other question, I have no idea. We know TL did an uncredited thingie in the upcoming SHUTTER'S ISLAND, but IMDB Pro doesn't list any new projects for our man.

Oh No, that isn't good news for us TL fans. He is too talented and handsome not to have anything in the works. Maybe it is a personal choice to have some time off. Come on Ted , we want to see that face on the screen ( TV or big screen, I'm not picky ) biggrin.gif

Speaking of TL, and going back to a previous conversation...how would you feel about Ted if he had a nipple ring and a couple of tats?

I'm not really sure about how I'd feel, my jury is still out on this one. I loved Buffalo Bill with the ring; a few tats I've seen have been pretty strikingly attractive...I'll have to mull this one over, in the meantime, what do you TL lovers think?

Hmmmm... I'd be alright with just about anything. tongue.gif Seriously, I'm not a big fan of nipple rings, but I have a couple of tats so I'd be okay with that. What kind of tat do you see him with?

Ideally, I would prefer no rings and no tats , but I could live with a couple of tats. I am not a real fan of nipple rings, but now this IS TL we are talking about.... sooo... I would probably make an exception. See how I went from no and no to heck yeah , if its TL . How did that happen ? wink.gif

I think USA is Monkless today, Drat it all !!

Question .. were there 2 actors that played Dale the Whale ? I thought I saw Tim Curry playing him once. I just started watch Monk again a few months ago when it started back to back in the afternoon and am just getting use to some of the guest star parts.

Which got me to thinking if you all could have 3 wishes what would they be ?

OK, I can imagine what some responses will be ......

Mine as of today are ... To get a good report from my surgeon today
..... I would love to meet the Monk cast
.... Maybe to go on a short vacation, I have had 1 in the last 25 years

Life is a shipwreck, but we must not forget to sing in the lifeboats !
