I was always told "Never give up on your dreams " or was it "Keep on dreaming " ha , that sounds more like me !! I love my family, but it doesnt hurt to have a little escape away from the daily grind.

Just a little something I've noticed about marriage - it seems the only ones fighting to get married are the gay/lesbian segment of our population. Many of todays couples choose not to marry since the children can now carry the fathers name and are no longer considered 'illegitimate.' I see it more than I see people marrying - I really don't see anything drastically wrong with a couple making a commitment to each other to live in love, peace, harmony and be monogamous to each other. With the divorce rate rising, remarriages taking place...well, I just sometimes think couples stand a better chance of staying together when there is no legal union involved. It's the way our pioneer families started out when there were no preachers around on the prairies.

Well, it depends on your state. Here in Ohio it wouldn't matter if you were together 200 years because the state doesn't recognize common law marriage anymore. If you were never married, you have no rights whatsoever to each other's property, etc. If I lived with a guy for years but never married him and wasn't on the deed to the property, I would have no legal rights whatsoever if he wanted to kick my butt out. However, if we were married I would have dower rights regardless of whether or not I was on the deed. Fair? Not really.

Sorry Liv, Wisconsin doesn't recognize common law marriages either. The only way to get around this is to give your partner power of attorney over your financial, medical and legal rights. Some of the better companies do give benefits to the partner in a straight/gay union and baby daddies are required to pay child support and maintain health insurance on their kids whether they live with the woman or not and the same for baby mommas who have better jobs or leave the kids with the dads. When it comes to getting financial aid for families, if the parent with the physical custody of the kids do not agree to file for child support they are denied any aid but do get WIC. It's a very mixed bag for such a liberal state which prides itself on equality.

Ah, well, see all this state law stuff is where things get really confusing. I wish they would just pass a law that applies everywhere, "If a person isn't hurting anyone else, leave them the hell alone and treat everyone the same." or something like that. But it can't be that simple, I guess.

I forget how this relates to Ted, too. Maybe we should find a way to get it back to Ted. Did anyone leave a breadcrumb trail? Did Meme or Kees sweep the trail away to keep us from finding our way back?

I can just imagine them out there in the forest with brooms, sweeping like the wind and laughing maniacally. Then turning around and wondering how they will find their way back now.

See, I know how to find my way back to Ted, No breadcrumb trail necessary, I could find that man in the dark, I'd recognize that profile by the light of the quarter moon, by his voice echoing in an empty chamber (preferaby mine) by.....oh heck, I'm going back to gaze, correction, moon and sigh over his pictures, esp. the SOTL one.

LOL! Just remember, you don't have the right to be strip searched, and you have to at least 'assault' an officer to get arrested. When they give you your one phone call, use it wisely- ask for the captain's number!

TL has a lot of character lines on his face that make Stot's character more real and they have all been removed. My surgeon is going to have me have tests Monday and then he will probably do a biopsy on my arm, he thinks it is a lymph node and NOT a muscle that my family doc has been telling me for 2 months !

Did he give you any idea on what exactly the lump is? Keep us posted and I will continue to keep you in my prayers!

The surgeon put me on antibiotics first, he said it could be as simple as an infection. He will know more after he gets the results from the tests I will have Monday the 7th, then I go back to him the 10th to find out what is going on. He said he may do a biopsy just to see what is happening. My family doc said it was NOT cancer and she has been through it as my husband has too. I am beginning to doubt most anything she tells me now though. I will keep you updated.

I have faith that it's all good! I had a lump once in that area and it went away so I am sure it's nothing, it's just good to check everything out to be certain. Hang in there!
